Oh by the way my Mom has some great ideas
for the recipe book. (Sorry Garry) So let do it!!

Does anyone have a recipe for beef jerky??

Thanks for all the well wishes.

Paul has gone to get Turner. School has been cancelled because the bad weather has gotten closer. They calling it early since they expect the roads to be real icy in the next couple of hours.

A recipe for Beef Jerky? Do you think there is such a thing?

Woo Hoo we are on our way to our first cookbook!

I was just putting up some beef jerkey while reading the posts. Small world (no, not the ride).
The best jerkey we have found so far is at Target of all places. They call it dried beef. But not that yucky stuff in the jar to make sh** on a shingle with.
The pepper is our favorite.
If any of you have travelled down our way or Texas, Robertson's Ham places have awesome "homemade" jerkey.
And yes, I do actually have a recipe for jerkey.

Garry, is that enough jerkey talk for you?

Dudettes: I am so jealous. Ask for a parlor room when you check in. We stayed in one and really enjoyed it. The only problem is just 2 beds. One murphy-style and one pull-out. We had a full bed, of all things, you've seen my husband, but a co-worker of ours had a king. The room looks like it used to be a hospitality type suite. It just is a lot bigger than the others, and with a living area and bar area.

We got ice last night, and the snow is coming. So see, all of you could actually come to Arkansas for snow.

Gotta go pry Clare off of the television set.

Krista

Garry, you have really started something.

Good morning to everyone on board.

I have yet to figure out IM, so hellos to you all.
Krista

Beef Jerky?? Love it. Believe it or not, I have make it out of hamburger. It is great! Need a press for it, though. You can buy it at Walmart for under 10 I believe. You honestly can't tell the difference.

The cookbook should have a variety of recipes, don't you think?

Thanks Lori for Jiminy. When I get some extra time, I will try and make him a part of my signature. Been wanting to do that for a long time. As far as a reunion cruise, WE WANT LORI, WE WANT LORI! You sure are putting in a lot of time, lately. So much for part time work!

Susan, take care. I, too, am well known for bronchitis. People around you just cringe when you get to coughing. Nah, don't worry, I'm not dying. Sleep, what's that? I honestly can keep that nasty cough for a couple of months after bronchitis. Codeine cough syrup does NOTHING for me. NOTHING!

Our Bonnie, a brunette. Cool.

Ted on the computer. Don't think so. He uses it at work and doesn't want to touch it when he gets home. Sorry Garry. No power tool talk from Ted on the computer. Besides that then I would have to share computer time with him and DD. Don't think so!!!!

Good grief, Julie. Did you have to go out and twist your ankle right before Christmas? I know that you have bad knees, also. What did it do to your knee?

Gotta go make supper. Talk to you all soon. Sandy

I'm baaccckkk!! Yes, I'm guilty of lurking but only because I don't want to miss anything and haven't had enough time to read and post....but, it feels soooo good to be missed!

Julie: Got my list...great job! Sorry about your fall. I embarrased myself not too long ago. My boss had taken us to lunch and when we got back to the office, I started to step out of the Yukon (with no ladder mind you) and missed the step completely. I went down in a dress and heels! Not to mention that I was right next to the busy street...

Garry: I buy beef jerky for Shelby, my dog. Nothing but the best for her! My kids say they never got treated as well as Shelby does.

Bonnie: Congrats on the test, we knew you could do it!

Recipe Book: My mom is the perfect person to do a recipe book, she's collected recipes for as long as I can remember. Funny....I don't remember her cooking a lot...... :p

Come, come, Patty. Your mom didn't cook a lot? Wait till she reads that one!!!!! Now I am beginning to believe WHO the trouble maker really is in your family!!!!!

I need a storage room just for my cookbooks. I think that I have a bit too many. Oh well, keeps me happy. I subscribe to Taste of Home and Quick Cooking magazine. Cook?? Not that much anymore now that the girls are never home. Poor Ted!

You can count me out of that cookbook. I hate to cook. I think cooking for my children convinced me it was a thankless job. Joyce DD#3 is the real cook. She makes everything from scratch. Now Bonnie - I don't think I ever heard of her cooking a meal. Ha! Ha!

VERY EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc Just Thursday & Friday & then I am out of here!:smooth:

Maybe we should start some "car talk" so Garry won't feel so left out. The Dudettes know I LOVE my car.

Toodles  :earsgirl:

Garry....... How do you feel about Craftsman tools......

Just some more manly talk..........:p

Yucky, slippery mess here in Charlotte. My poor step-father was flying in from Munich today via Philadelphia. Last I heard his flight from Philly to Charlotte has been cancelled and there are no others until tomorrow. Philly is supposed to get snow in the morning. Hope he gets here before the weekend when my niece gets married!

Sally - do you want us to email the recipes to you or post them? I have plenty to share. I, too, think we need all kinds of recipes.

Dudettes - if I don't get a chance to say it before you go, have a wonderful trip and think about us!!! Hope you have a great time. Bonnie - good luck with the secret. Hope all works out!!!!

Julie - how's the ankle today?

Garry - do you change the oil in your auto or take it to someone else? Or does Julie do that when she finishes snow shoveling? (Macho question, don't ya think?)

Patti Ann Marshall Floyd......you don't remember me cooking....that was all I did in Ohio....guess that is why I moved to Colorado.

If you want me to do a cookbook, snail me the recipes and your picture or picture of the food or your dog for that matter. Anything you want with your recipe. All kinds of recipes would be good...preferably your favorite or your family favorite.

Like I have a mac and cheese recipe that Barb's girls love and want me to make it every holiday. I mean mac and cheese with turkey but that is what we do.

Now don't expect to get your copy for awhile....I have Christmas, a week at Disneyworld and another cruise this month. January doesn't look much better as I have two weekends at CM meetings but I will work on it every chance I get.

I want a card from England too....guess we should have gone to that darn wine tasting party...they sure hold it against you when you forget.....lol

OK, let me give you the scoop about Darren and the wine tasting. Darren had been given bad information about the time of the wine tasting and scheduled Palo's wine tasting at the same time. He came to OUR wine tasting at the tail end.

Sorry, Darren :(

Wait a minute, Darren did show up - so I guess that does count.

So much to comment on!!!

First and foremost... I am a very good cook!!!!!!!!!! I just don't have a houseful of people to cook for! I can make terrific stuffed cabbage, and Keilbasa and sourkraut, and prime rib and the worlds best mashed potatoes and a cheese cake that is absolutely delicious... shall I continue!!! JEANNE!!!!!!!

Oh and chicken soup (for Sue's illness)

Sue-if I had known I could have taken the train to the airport from work to keep your step dad company for awhile. He may get out by tomorrow night.
Patti Ann Marshall Floyd -Love the name...And what did you have for that lunch that you fell up the steps! LOL! I am so happy you are back and in good form too! Love the family squablles. Does my heart good.

Sandy-How on earth do you make beef jerky? I think that should be your contribution to the cookbook!

Mom-that's a lot of work with pictures and all. I will submit several recipes -SINCE JEANNE CAN"T COOK!!!!!

Barb...the test I took was the first of 5! The Acadamy for Healthcare Management.

Just wanted to say that I had a great time talking with you tonight Bonnie . Why can't you move here???? We could even cook together. Oh, I use a dehydrator to make beef jerky. I use to use the oven until I started to make the hamburger kind.

Darren was at the wine tasting. He attended late because he had a conflict of time with another engagement. Glad he showed up. What a love!!!!

We've been upgraded!!! Dolphin, deluxe room view of the resort and a balcony!!! Yeah for Starwood preferred points!! I am at the level to get an upgrade without using points but didn't want to take a chance since we will be arriving around 6 PM.

I had to post since Jeanne's line is busy...
