ROFR Discussion Thread

Not going to bash DVCRM, but I completely skipped anything listed by them. I guess the offers I looked at were “red hot deals” but not being able to negotiate was a HUGE turnoff. Seems like their customer service is in line with this as well.
Same. Just like when I was car shopping for a car, there were dealerships that are no haggle. I just didnt bother stopping there since thats not how I like to do business. But I get that there are many who prefer that model.

As for DVCRM their model works very well for them and I happy they exist so in the future if I sell I can sell with them at a higher dollar amount.

I will say that if they are reading this, while I have no first hand experience I have heard many many times about their agents being rude and condescending. That really needs to change just from be a good human stand point.

I have used them a few times and can't say that I had that experience at all..

Seems like a mixed bag. Have seen a few people on here have negative experiences with communication.

If I decide to sell, will def use them.

Thats really good. Sadly thats how the internet works these days, bad experiences tend to be voiced louder and more often than positive ones. All the more reason maybe they should just advise the agents that sometimes their "advice" isnt being taken how they are intending it to come out. But its quite possible that they are fine with the way they are currently seen as a whole by the market.

I want to add, even though I have never done business with them I do have a certain opinion of them. And if it weren't for Paul and Amy I know my opinion would be much worse. Paul and Amy have a lot of negativity thrown in their direction at times and they both handle it so well. They are very likable people for the brand.

For a while ROFR morphed into a “Price Discovery” thread.
I think it still is.

They are probably the largest. If the chance of "the agent is having a bad day" is more or less constant among the brokers, you'll hear more complaints about them, because math.

I personally am a huge Paul & Amy fan. #Patreon.

I’ll just add that I only ever interacted with one agent at DVCRM, and she was incredibly nice. On their website, you can schedule time to talk with one of their agents and that is what I did - I was just randomly assigned to her. She took as much time as I wanted to ask questions. I made a few offers and she was very happy to discuss them with me. Super polite. Super nice. And I don’t think she told me anything that was wrong or inaccurate.

Everyone I’ve heard on various podcasts from DVCRM also seems super nice and I enjoy listening to them. No, I don’t think I’m going to get any insight into how to score a bottom-of-the-market DISboard deal, but that is perfectly understandable given that they are in this business to make money and they would make less of it if more people negotiated harder for lower prices.

I love Paul and Amy. Watching DVCFan for a couple of years was definitely a factor in me buying into DVC. My sister had worked for a timeshare in Hawaii way back when and had a lot of awful stories, so I never ever would have considered DVC without Paul and Amy. They are very likeable and informative. I'd love to meet them in person!

I had such a good experience with them that I almost made a thread about it. I decided not to as it was kind of a rebuttal to a negative thread that was here a while back and I figured let sleeping dogs lie.

When I initially filled out the online form to list my contract, I was emailed back by Andy, who the previous negative thread was about from what I gathered (his name wasn't mentioned, but it was heavily alluded to). I had an inital "brace myself" moment due to the negativity, but I do like to have my own experiences. So, I got over it in a couple seconds. His email was very clear and he made it idiot proof as far as walking me through all the steps to get the information they needed to list my contract. It was so incredibly easy to follow. The email also seemed to address the issues that the previous complaint thread mentioned. He said that they worked as a team and anyone could contact me when offers come in and that he works all hours and I might get emails from him day or night (those were things that were upsetting to the person who posted the thread).

The email also said that I could list my contract at a set price - not open to negotiations. I listed high and was open to negotiations so I didn't go that route. Anyway, it was obvious to me that the feedback here was completely accounted for. Seeing that they were so responsive with the negative feedback made me feel comfortable with them because it was obvious that they wanted to give a good experience. I ended up hearing from a different agent after the listing was live because she was the one who go the offer. She was also very excellent with her communication and gave me literally all the information I could need in the offers. I never felt like I had a question to either agent as they had both been very comprehensive with their communications, even anticipating any potential questions that could come up.

So, I do believe that some people have a bad experience, which is true in all businesses, but I think DVCRM takes the feedback seriously and changes how they do things to make it better. I'm 100% comfortable doing business with them as both a buyer and seller. I also bought theme park tickets through their associated company - Unlocked Magic and that was also an excellent experience.

I haven't dealt with the Timeshare Store in years, but I also feel 100% comfortable with them. When I knew nothing about DVC use years, borrow/bank, etc, they were the ones who explained everything to me in detail and guided me towards not making a choice that I would regret later. They were so much better than the DVC retail sales people.

I’ve bid low at DVCRM many times and they’ve always been polite about it. I haven’t scored any deals there, but they’ve been perfectly nice!

This is very good to hear. I do remember that thread.

That is good to know. Im not in the market but good to know I wont be talked to down to if I submit what I want to pay.

In the DVC world, for me, this place (from the times I've contacted them) feels exactly like what I'd imagine a used timeshare business to feel like. Is the guy who peppers his emails with Toy Story quotes still working there?
