***ROCKSTAR: Supernova*** (spoilers welcome)

Hmmmm

Well, they all appear hung over.

I'll just go with my prediction of who *I* think should be in the bottom three this week for those performances.

Storm. I can see where you were trying to go, but it didn't work. That was bad and I am surprised.

Toby. Wow. If you have a lower range with your voice, you sure didn't use it tonight. I love that song and you didn't do it any justice.

Patrice. You started off great. But the notes that were held longer in the song showed your shortcomings. You were also far too smiley during the performance, and somehow I doubt SuperNova is looking to be fronted by a Mouseketeer.

Lukas and Dilana knocked em out. Zayra surprised me with talent I wasn't aware she had...(still think she's not right for the band, but good job this week) Ryan was...good... not great, but not bootable. I still love Magni. His voice would make me buy CD's and songs. Needs to work on his presence to compete with Dilana, Lukas (and Storm, on a good day) but I so dig his voice.

Liked Magni, Ryan and Dilana. Everybody else made me cringe. Lukas was good, but I dislike him so much it didn't matter. He simply isn't a good fit for the band.

Well again I had a malfunction with my VCR. This week I taped the Miss Teen competition instead of Rockstar, are you kidding me? I've watched the performances on the Rockstar website this morning, (wish the screen was bigger, but at least I saw them.) Who was in the bottom three at the end of the show last night? Next Tuesday night we'll be in Disney so I'll have to try to work in the shows, yikes!

The bottom 3 at the end of the show were Zayra, Toby, and Patrice.

Magni and Dilana were my favorite performances last night. Storm has always been and still is my favorite, but I didn't like her performance at all last night. I still think Dilana is going to win it.

My Reviews:
Zayra - Lluvia De Mar (original song). I thought the outfit and the guitar were really distracting but she sang well. Definitely not for SN and hopefully they will send her home tonight

Magni - Starman (David Bowie). Loved it. I would pay money to see him perform even if he doesn’t win.

Patrice - Message in a Bottle (The Police) Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Lukas - Hero (Chad Kroeger). Parts of it I liked and parts of it I didn’t. The parts I didn’t like was when he made the weird growly noises and the odd pronunciations. I think it was because he was closing up his voice again. It was a so so performance.

Storm - I Will Survive (Gloria Gaynor). I don’t think anyone could have done a good job on this song acoustically. She didn’t deserve the horrible comments she got from SN. She kind of scared me with that intense Marty-ness in some parts.

Toby - Solsbury Hill (Peter Gabriel) - with Gilby on acoustic guitar. I love this song and I was prepared to be extra critical because of it. I thought he faltered in the beginning, but it was understandable because it’s a wicked hard song to sing. I thought he got his groove together in the middle and really did a great job with it.

Ryan - In the Air Tonight (Phil Collins). Good vocals. Good rendition. Too intense and creepy and lacking in the stage presence to front a rock band. I see him more indie venues and piano bars.

Dilana - Cat's in the Cradle (Harry Chapin). I thought this was great. I don’t think it was the best performance of the night but I thought she did a superb job.

Thanks Spacemountain. Even though I'd rather see Patrice go home, I hope they send home Zayra because if Zayra outlasts Ryan I'll be peeved.

My review of last night:

Zayra - Lluvia De Mar (original song) - gonna have to give the girl some props this morning - her original song was pretty - ABSOLUTELY not right for Supernova.

Magni - Starman (David Bowie) - just ok to me

Patrice - Message in a Bottle (The Police) - boring, so boring.

Lukas - Hero (Chad Kroeger) - loved his performance, nice to see Lukas using his vocal range and I thought he was one of the best last night.

Storm - I Will Survive (Gloria Gaynor) - I hate that song and I hated it last night too.

Toby - Solsbury Hill (Peter Gabriel) - surprised to see him in the early bottom three, I thought he did a good job on that song.

Ryan - In the Air Tonight (Phil Collins) - he's beginning to look like he's performing in a musical and he's loosing me.

Dilana - Cat's in the Cradle (Harry Chapin) - it was just ok to me

Bottom Three: Patrice, Storm and Zayra

Going Home: should be Zayra but will probably be Patrice

Encore: It'll either be Ryan, Dilana or Lukas

Special Performance with Supernova tonight: I'm hoping it's Lukas but I bet it's either Dilana or Magni

With all due respect to Dave Navarro, I did not get chills with Dilana's performance. She was good as always, but I did not think it was spectacular.

Patrice just does not work for me. She just does not have the star quality. I agree that Zayra's style does not seem to match with Supernova, but she is a star. I think Patrice needs to go home.

In terms of the encore, I am betting that Lukas gets it and they ask him to do it standing up. TLee doesn't like it when they sit!

Love Dilana but last night was just good, not chills making.

I actually enjoyed Lucas last night, I kind of preferred him sitting down.

Ryan is not good enough to be that intense.

Z... pack your spandex and go solo, girl. She will definitely have a fan base of horny prepubescent boys.

Patrice... why does she look like a librarian gone bad to me??? I think it is her time to GO.

Magni in his Saturday Night Fever get up -- I think he did Bowie well!

On Dave Navarro' blog this morning he says that someone is going to get to perform a Supernova song with the entire band tonight..............that should be interesting.........

I think it will be Magni, although I didn't get to see the show, I had to watch the performances through Rockstar, the comments they make are important and unfortunately I missed those.

Not the best night by any means.

I knew things were not going to go well when I actually liked Zayra's performance. Great song - for a Latin lounge. Sorry Zayra, you're not a rock singer. In fact given last night's performance I would say maybe the issue is she can't sing in English very well. She seems to miss the emphasis that different words should have in the songs she sings.

Patrice and Storm basically sucked it up IMO. Terrible.

Ryan and Lucas were only OK IMO. Both have been much better.

I thought both Magni and Toby were awesome. I liked Magni's performance better than the original, and Toby's was real close.

This is IMO still Dilana's job to lose IMO and the great performance last night only made me more sure of it.

I've always "liked" Magni, but now I'm starting to really like him.

Lukas is still my favorite, but he doesn't have the right look for Supernova. I guess a good stylist can take care of that. Please lose the glove, Lukas.

Dilana is another favorite of mine and I've enjoyed all of her performances.

I really hope Patrice or Zayra go home tonight, but I'm beginning to lose hope that that will happen.

DH and I were saying last week that Lukas would better suited to a group like The Cure than with these guys. He's definitely talented, but he doesn't seem to fit.

I was thinking that Gilby ragged out Jill for "rubbing" up against him when she sang with him, calling it a "ploy" woman rockers use....well, wth were those dancers out there doing tonight? and aren't they female? Guess they weren't bumping/grinding him so it was different......

I think they (the producers) were trying to make the very first live performance of Supernova spectacular . . . with flashing lights and dancing girls and the works! I loved it, but I agree the girls were a touch of sleeze.

I was sorry to see Z go. While I absolutely agree she is not right for Supernova, at least she is entertaining, which is more than I can say about Patrice!
