***ROCKSTAR: Supernova*** (spoilers welcome)

Lukas reminds me so much of JD from the first Rock Star -- totally brooding and obsessed that the band will like the other performers better than they do him.

Yes, but with a difference. Once JD got on stage and began performing, he had a true, affectionate relationship with the audience - he really connected with them and gave them his all.

Not to jump on the Lukas hatin' bandwagon (even though I was the original one who said he looked like Ron Howard's brother), but he's just not good. I can't understand a word he sings, he seems awkward on stage, and he has an uneasy-at-best relationship with the audience. All of that, I could easily overlook, if he only had a great singing voice.

Having said all that, I still seem to have a soft spot for Lukas - but not as a performer - just as a troubled human. I find myself worrying about him when he's singing. He has lots of very sad energy.

On a lighter note, I'll go against the grain of most of the Lukas posts here, and say that I LOVE his fashion choices. (Just not the hair)

I'm of the opposite opinion. I think he moves around the stage in a confident manner and he does connect with his audience. His voice is a lot better than some of the other people in the contest and he can sing in more than one manner.

I'm glad that they didn't use Ryan for the launching of their new song, it was a lame song and it may have hurt his chances of staying longer. Dilana has a strong enough fan base to weather that catastrophe.

I agree! If that is the best SuperNova has, I won't be buying their music. That song was very forgettable. In fact, by the time it was over, I couldn't remember any words to it!

Yes I did and my dislike of Dilana is growing more and more each week. She was so mean dissing the other rockers in the house to the media - that's just NOT RIGHT!!!

I wonder if making Dilana seem like a jerk is all planned so that there's some excitement for the finale. It would stink if we knew she would win and that was that, at least the producers are casting some doubt on the situation. I like Dilana less and less with each episode, I wanted her to win at the beginning, now I'm pulling for Toby or Ryan. I'm leaving for Disney tomorrow, I'll have to watch the shows down there. Poor me!

Have you guys seen the "Dilana" ads on CBS. And have they done them for any of the others. I watched the Webisode & Dilana & Lukas came off looking bad. Didn't one of the rockers get in trouble on the last RockStar for bad mouthing the others?

Lizardboy has got to go! Does Ryan know how to keep his tongue in his mouth?? EVERY time he's not singing, he's pretending to be a lizard.

As much as I LOVE the founding members of Supernova, If Ryan makes it, I would NEVER buy their music. I think he thinks this is still Rockstar INXS. He is soooo wrong for these guys!

I thought Ryan did a good job tonight and I usually don't like him. I didn't agree with the bands comments about Toby and Dilana though. I didn't like then at all and Dilana was outright terrible in the beginning.

Anyhow here's my reviews. Please note spoilers are as follows.......





Patrice - Beautiful Thing - Original song. Ok she sang it well. It sounded like a Hillary Duff song. Sorry. Too teeny pop. Buh-Bye

Magni - Smells Like Teen Spirit - Nirvana. I love Magni. I think he's versatile and he seems very grounded. I just didn't like this performance. Maybe it's because he was sick (it was mentioned on the webisode). But probably because he didn't mumble enough.

Ryan - Back of your Car - Original song. So help me I actually liked it. Well aside from the gratuitous guitar toss that just happened right after the Dabve said something. And his voice cracked a few times, but it was a catchy song. Not as catchy as Trees though I still think he's too Pearl Jam for Supernova though.

Storm - Cryin' Aerosmith. I thought she did a good job with the vocals. I wasn't wowed though. I think it's because her stage performance was lacking and I didn't like the constant arm jerking and chest thumping.

Dilana - Every Breath You Take - the Police. Really liked this performance because it showed she was more than a raspy voice. I thought she was going to totally screw up the high notes and she didn't. Possible encore imho.

Toby - Layla - Eric Clapton. Loved it. Loved the arrangement. Loved the shirtlessness. Loved the vocals. My choice for encore.

Lukas - All These Things That I've Done The Killers. I'm only so-so on this performance. Parts of it I thought he was excellent on. Parts of it I thought he was lisping through.

I think this will be Patrice's last week. I thought last week they both were going to go.

I really liked Storm at the beginning of the show. However, now I can't tell if she is be serious or not. All her theatrics make her seem like she's not taking this seriously. I don't know, maybe she is trying too hard?
