Rock 'n Roller Coaster may not be featuring Aerosmith

The attraction was officially closed for refurbishment last week. I did not ask anyone what to expect.

just got back yesterday and the ride is no different yet..... they had a huge tan screen with people inside it painting the guitar........ hopefully just a touch up but areosmith was still there

:idea:You know what I think would be cool? Not sure of the logistics but it would be cool if there were several different bands that you could choose from. Make it a little interactive somehow? The group would choose which band. Or even just a random assigned band? Ya never know which band you are gonna get. But I agree it would have to be rock.

Bon Jovi

Listen, Jon Bon Jovi has to be a Disney fan to some degree -- the last time I stayed at Disney's Vero Beach resort he and his family were guests as well.

And, yes, let me answer your questions before you ask, I do have a photo of him in the pool. Shirtless, natch.

DVCDawn :tink:

Another for JOVI!!! Maybe that's just cause we're from Jersey :rotfl:

I really do believe he would be great though. Family friendly, lively songs...
It's my Life, Runaway, Livin on a Prayer, You Give Love a Bad Name..
Wow, I would love Bon Jovi for it!!

I mean, I hope there's no changes....but...if it had to, I would definetly love to see Jovi!

Just throwing my hat into the ring to add another vote for Electric Mayhem. Would be perfect!

Personally I don't see bands like U2 or Bon Jovi working. They're just not at the forefront of my mind when someone says rock n roll, unlike Aerosmith, Kiss, AC/DC, RHCP etc. It would need something punchy and really kick a**.

IMHO anyway...

Definitely hope they keep Aerosmith. RHCP would be an okay choice. Kiss is too gimmicky, but they would work better than Bon Jovi. Bon Jovi is the most bland choice listed anywhere on this thread. You can have edgy rock like RHCP or Aerosmith that will work for a roller coaster, that is also mainstream.

I thought U2 would be okay, but running their songs through my mind I'm having a tough time thinking of "coaster" songs. Vertigo or Elevation maybe but none of their classics would work on a coaster. Still would be better than Bon Jovi.

I would just like to say that this was never happening or never considered. The closes thing to this was when they considered bringing this attraction to DL but it would have featured No Doubt.

I would Love to see Motley Crue or Guns N' Roses both from LA, it would never happen but i'd love to see it

the original theme was the "Elvis Rock 'n Roller Coaster" The Aerosmith theme came just before the opening. Notice the old style limo cars and the entrance had a 50's vibe. so changing the theme would be as simple as changing the song and the intro video

Yup, so that's why they advertised it featuring Aerosmith for at least several months prior?

As much as I love Bon Jovi, and boy do I love em, I don't see it. The songs wouldn't really fit with a superfast roller coaster ride IMO. Guns'n'Roses would work great but somehow I don't see an Axl Rose/Disney deal :rotfl2:

Um...ok...so what city do you think of when you think of music production?

Those old enough to remember the "glory days" of the recording industry (ergo, before download era) may make some connection of part of it to LA, but I'd bet that Nashville or even possibly New York would win any survey of a random sample of people asking the question "what city is best known for being the capital of the recording industry?"

My friend just came back from Disney on Monday, and she said that Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers have taken over the ride. She said the opening sequence when Aerosmith is in the studio is gone....
She heard from her brother (a CM) that rumors are surfacing that they are changing the ride because of Steven Tyler's drug problem and its effect on guests....
I really hope they rethink this decision... though it sounds like there is no turning back!!

Sorry you were given false info the ride is unchanged.

I rode RNR twice yesterday. It still as others have stated the same as it has always been, with the same Aerosmith pre-show.

So your so-called "friend" isn't fooling anyone but you.

I just would like to say again that this is an old romor that started a few years ago. Disney never considered Hannah ever.
