Rise of the Resistance BOARDING GROUPS Superthread Part 2 *No Ride Spoilers Please* *PLEASE READ POSTS 1-3*

Btw - they've changed everything since we last went through this.

The conventional wisdom on the WDW board is something like this:

1) Force close the app. (Doesn't hurt to clear the app cache if you can.)
2) Open a browser to time.gov
3) Open the app at 6:58am and have the Join Boarding Group button visible on the home screen.
4) Keep your eye on time.gov, and switch back to the app immediately before 7am.
5) At 6:59:59, hit the Join Boarding Group button.
6) Hit the Join buttons on the next three pages as fast you can. Don't even look at whether the right tickets are selected * - just go as fast as you can.

* The WDW app automatically selects the people who have valid park reservations that day - hopefully, the DL app will do the same thing.

I tested this out this morning in the DL app, and I would've gotten one had I had a valid Park Reservation. (The "success" screen for a test is basically "hey, you don't have a park reservation".)


The problem with the virtual queue page itself is that it seems to still be hit-and-miss - sometimes, pulling down to refresh works, sometimes it doesn't. (I think we had those problems in those first couple of months.)

EDIT: I blanked on which page was which. I don't think it makes a difference if you do it from the Home Screen or the Virtual Queues page itself - it's the Join Boarding Group page that's the problem. (I think most folks do it from the Home Screen.) Just don't hit Join Boarding Group until 6:59:59.

Thank you!! We did that exact thing at WDW in December and were successful 2 days at HS. Hoping we finally get to ride at DL for the first time!!!!

Other than a minor delayed opening, it doesn’t appear that rotr went down at all today.

Just tried playing along at home. Got to the select tickets screen (which I don't have) once. BGs were gone by 30 seconds after 7.

Going to try again at noon. Not sure if they are making a distinction between regular groups and backup groups or not - depending on what we see I'll adjust the chart. I'd like to report the highest distributed groups in the AM and PM, but not sure how to get that information. Might have to change it to highest reported group in the AM and PM and rely on posts here and Social media to get what data I can. I guess we know that any group called before 1pm was part of the morning distribution for certain.

Anyway, I'm excited to see how things go. Anyone going to be doing it for real tomorrow?

We are here now....both my husband and I logged into the same account this morning and I got us group 5. His just errored after mine went through. We got to go through completely alone before opening. It was amazing

How much of the preshow do you get to see? Is it pretty much the same as pre-COViD but with spacing between parties? I am pregnant so I can’t go on the actual ride, but I’m wondering if it will be worth it for me to go through the line and preshow then bail when it comes time to board the ride. Luckily I already experienced the full ride prior to the shutdown.

I am pregnant so I can’t go on the actual ride, but I’m wondering if it will be worth it for me to go through the line and preshow then bail when it comes time to board the ride. So they actually completely bypassed the first part of the ride with hondo as well as the Rey hologram room. Had we not have rode this ride multiple times we would have been very disappointed. We were brought in the side of the room where the storm troopers are and taken directly to the main ride. It was worth it to ride alone but for first timers, or people that can't ride the main ride, I wouldn't do it

I tried 'playing at home' at 7 AM today and got held up on selecting ticket screen -- the app acts like I have *four*, when I only have two tickets (my wife & I) and then our two LEgacy Passholder discount 'tickets.'

When scrambling for a ROTR reservation, would selecting all four of those tickets work? Or do I have to manually only select the actual park tickets and not the discounts? anybody know?

Maybe the beginning part is down. I heard yesterday they only passed the hologram room. I never got to ride it pre pandemic so I will take what I can get and watch what I missed on youtube. Otherwise, I will have to wait another year or more. I will ride it again when it opens fully to get the full experience.

So let's pretend the ride is not fixed till 1PM. Do they let people join a boarding group at 12 or send a notice that is cancelled?

Our understanding is that the tickets with valid, eligible reservations will already be checked - you shouldn't have to do anything, just click Join as quickly as you can. (That's how WDW's system works, and there have been reports from folks at the CM previews that the DL app did the same thing.)
