Ringing in 2010, 6 months til we'll be back again

What a cool Dis meet!! :cool1:

I really didn't sit and talk with some of the others as much as I had planned to. Bella and I started walking, and before I knew it, it was time for fireworks.

I so wish we had video of Trent and Jarvis entertaining the DISers! I bet it was a scream!

It looks like you all had so much fun hanging out together on NYE!

Be careful what you wish for. ;)

Good morning, MeMom and Jill! Hope you're having a great day and I'm so glad you (Jill) feel so comfortable with the surgeon. My DD11 had plastic surgery at 7 months and it's so important to be confident with the medical team.

Looking forward to seeing Bellarie's pictures!

Maybe she'll walk again at picture time!

i wonder where he gets that from? :rolleyes1

that's exactly what i was thinking! :rotfl2:

i remember this vividly! ray and i were at a friend's house that night and i had a missed call from heather (hlrababy). we left to come home right after midnight, so i figured she'd still be up and i called her back. she told me all about how she was watching the web cam and realized it was you guys because she saw brooklynn with her blue glowy thing and then how trent and jarvis were dancing! i was sorry i had missed it. we are usually home on NYE but this is the first year we've gone anywhere in ages. a co-worker of ray's has been asking him for a few years to come to his house for NYE and we finally gave in and then i miss this. bummer! but it looks like you guys had a great time.

can't wait to see the fireworks. i hope drew got some pictures, too!

I didn't even bother with fireworks pictures - one reason is because I was holding Bella, another is because I take horrible fireworks pictures. I will put Drew's up, probably tomorrow night.

Its awesome that yall are getting more time for the mothers day trip!
Looks like a fun night on the beach for fireworks with the other DIS'ers! Can't wait to see more!

Yes, it really has made this quick trip a bit more exciting. Trent is excited that we'll be there longer, too.

Look on page 10, post #145 of this thread. Heather posted a video that she took from her TV! :cool1:

I warned her. :)

I love the picture of Bella sleeping in her daddy's lap. What a perfect fit.

It was way past her bed time!

Perfect! Can't wait to watch it when I get home from school! :yay:

They were just being goofy. You probably can't appreciate it nearly as much seeing it on the dark camera.

LOL! But be warned, its not the best quality! ;) I was using my camera to record it and I am sure you can hear me laughing a lot!!!

It would have been a lot more fun if your were there laughing with us.

It's still pretty funny :goodvibes

It was funny that Dave was reading the chat, and someone, I don't know who, said that MeMom and Jill were on the beach, and I think they told Dave to call out and see if we answered. He said, "They're sitting right here." From that point on, it just got silly.

New Years Eve on the Poly beach looks like a blast. It is a perfect Dis meet. I love the picture of Bella sleeping on her daddy's lap while they are watching the football game.

We may end up there again NYE. I wanted to go at Thanksgiving, but we only get three days off. I would have to take off to get a longer trip. I have two weeks at Christmas & NY, so that might be what we end up going with again. Who knows? Right now, we're hoping for four trips, but after October, we're not sure about the holidays.

You have me really wishing I was on that Poly beach right now. The weather here is gorgeous today and it is making me want to head to the beach!

I remember watching that web cam video. I am just like you though, so not an entertainer! Where in the world does Trent get that from? I bet things were never dull with him around. ;)

Trent has always been the life of the party and the ringleader of mischief. That's the way it has been since he was in pre-school!

Same here! My dad is a huge people person and will talk to anyone, but I just can't bring myself to start talking to people unless I'm at work. I inherited a lot of my personality and an irrational fear or two from him, but not that.

That looks like such a fun evening! I was thinking of you guys being there while I was at Charles's brother and sister-in-law's playing video games, waiting for the countdown to start!

I'm more comfortable with people who have the Disney love. :goodvibes

I remember watching this. It was hilarious!

Were you doing the chat stuff, too, or just watching? I should have gone over to the computer and read what everyone was saying. Dave was reading some of it to us.

Congrats on the extra day !

Great pictures from the Poly on New Years , looks like a great dismeet :thumbsup2

Saw Trent and Jarvis video on Heathers report and it was hilarious , true entertainment !

It would have been a lot more fun if your were there laughing with us.

Oh I agree 100%!!! Of course, that means poor Chad would have had to do some dancing on the video as well. He can't say no to me when I ask him to do it in front of others!! :rotfl2:
But, we did enjoy Trent and Jarvis's show! I thought it was so funny when I texted you guys and said, "I see you!!" :lmao:

/
Great pictures MeMom. Kona looks delish!! I remember the update from others on NYE about the antics of Trent and Jarvis. Those two boys are hilarious! Glad to hear about Bella's new doctor! My daughter Morghan sees a pediatric specialist for surgery each 8 weeks and it's so important to feel comfortable with those working on your children.

We were talking about you last weekend. I'm sorry for your sadness. Families are wonderful, and it is hard to lose someone who is an integral part of your lives.

Treasure your time with your little guys. In all of your simple fun, you are building sweet memories.

Usually when people say that to me I get worried, but not when my DIS friends say it :rotfl:

I love my family so much. This has been harder than when my grandpa died in November. That's partially because there's a difference between losing a 91 year old man and losing a 58 year old woman with cancer. But it's also because I was used to not seeing my grandpa very often. I'm used to seeing my aunt all the time, especially recently. When she was still at home we were over there every Sunday(since the middle of January) helping out around the house and visiting. Then when she went into the hospital we visited a lot. Combined with all of my school work and the emotional stress, those weekends and hospital visits were exhausting, especially since the hospital is an hour and a half away. But I wouldn't take any of those days back for anything. The last weekend we were at the house was the weekend after we got back from Disney. We brought her back a Chip n Dale stuffed animal and I brought a bunch of Disney pictures to show her.

I love those little guys so much! I'm so glad my aunt was still here for their first Christmas and their birthdays. Caleb's was a couple weeks ago(March 6).

Kazin's my little buddy! Of course I love Caleb too but I have some kind of connection with Kazin. Maybe because he's the first baby I ever held. On the rare occasion that he starts crying he almost always stops when I pick him up and he always smiles when I walk in the door.

Same here! My dad is a huge people person and will talk to anyone, but I just can't bring myself to start talking to people unless I'm at work. I inherited a lot of my personality and an irrational fear or two from him, but not that.

Once again, your dad is just like mine  I'm not very social either. But it depends on where I am and who I'm with. If I'm in a class without one of my friends I never talk unless I have to. But if I'm at a Red Sox game or at Disney or something I'm fine. It might be the fact that I'll never see those people again, but I see the people in school every day. Maybe I'll be social on the last day of senior year :rotfl:

Whenever you're ready....

Our schedule is:
-Mother's Day
-summer
-October
yand either
-Thanksgiving or Christmas/New Year's

hopefully.

So, you just let us know which trip the quarters come out. :)

I think you can save your quarters this year...maybe next year! I turn the BIG 30 this june so I know I do not want to be pregnant then and truthfully I have my hands full as it is! Caleb is definitely an adventurous child! :lmao: I am thinking I want him to be a little more independent before we have another baby...plus there is that off chance it could be a girl...which is really going to kill my credit cards :scared1: because their clothes etc is just too cute. My poor mom nearly went broke :lmao::lmao: when we went shopping a couple of weeks for my new baby niece (first girl on my side of the family) that is due middle of May.

I'd love to go to Disney over New Years Eve but my husband does not deal with crowds very well...so its probably never going to be in the cards for us!

I remember watching the webcam that night and thinking ..... hey, that's them!!!
It looks like we'll be going down the week before Christmas again this year, the crowds were so much more manageable.
New Years Eve would have been fun though!

Do you know what your possible dates might be for October and December?

Haven't been on the DIS in over a week....ack! I'll never catch up at this rate. Hopefully I can try next week as I enjoy Spring Break. We have no plans until Good Friday. Yay!

Enjoyed the NYE pics! I watched the video when it was posted and enjoyed a good giggle.

Tink9721 - just wanted you to know I'm thinking of you too. I went through a similar situation with my mom when she passed a couple years ago. We found out she had cancer mid May and she passed June 30. We even thought the last day that we still would have a couple weeks with her, but not so much. It breaks my heart that when we have kids, they won't personally know her or my mother-in-law, who passed fairly suddenly too. But it's nice to remember the good times and those kids can know your aunt through you and the stories you tell them. :goodvibes

Jill - so glad to hear about the second opinion and new surgery date. :goodvibes I'll be thinking of Bella and can't wait for the party pics!

MeMom love the updates! I almost bought the Mickey picture frame with the different wood tones. I still may have a friend pick it up for me when she goes in June.... :rolleyes1

I forgot I was going to mention that I almost bought that frame too!

After a delicious meal at Kona, we were ready to go out to the beach to enjoy an evening of fun and fireworks.

We found Brook and Katie and Katie's sister out on the beach close to where Dave and Kathy's room was located. Jill and I had tried to find Dave and Kathy earlier, but they weren't in the room yet. After a few minutes of talking with Brook and Kaite, I saw action over at D&K's room, so I went over and introduced myself.

Understand that me introducing myself could only happen in Disney World or concerning Disney-related things. In real life, I have a 'speak when spoken to' philosophy. That way, I'm not bothering anyone who doesn't want to be bothered. ;)

Dave and Kathy were every bit as nice in person as they were in PM's back and forth. They take many vacations & cruises a year to WDW, stay in all the nice places, and they have to have mega-bucks to do all that, but they were not one bit pretentious. They invited me in to see the room, and they welcomed everyone to set up camp in their 'yard'.

Dave let the guys watch some kind of football game on his hi-tech gadget.
In the background, you can see Jill, Kathy & her daughter, Brook, Katie, and her sister.

Dancing was going on over by the pool.
They were doing 'YMCA' and some other lively songs.

Brooklynn enjoyed playing in the sand.

The tecdavidt family and Trent.

Look at Kathy's face. She clearly already realizes she has invited a lunatic to share her party.

When Bella woke up, I took over Bella duty, so we walked around a lot. The others stood around and sat around and talked until time for fireworks.

Katie was so nice to Brooklynn.

Poolrat came by, also, but she was with friends down at the beach most of the time, and I don't think she made it into any of the pictures.

Dave had his webcam set up, and his adoring fans started asking for entertainment before the fireworks. Dave called out to us that they wanted entertainment, SO NOT MY DEPARTMENT, so we knew it was time to call the boys away from the football game.

Anyway, over the next few wild and wacky minutes, we realized there were several DIS friends watching the webcam, so we waved to them, and Trent and Jarvis gave them a little something to occupy their time before the fireworks started. They were doing some singing and dancing. I think they might have even been taking requests. :goodvibes

I have some pictures Drew took, but I'll have to get to them later. Work calls. This is one of those weeks when we have a lot of paperwork, so I have been busy with report cards and other data/records. It is very much fun.

Or it is not.

One of the two.

Have a good day before Friday, everyone!

Here's the thing....I had no idea you guys were going to be there for a Dismeet. So, I recall watching the fireworks from Dave and Kathy's room the year before so I figured I would do it again this year. Now, you guys were the ONLY people I knew who were in Disney for New Years. Along with Dave's feed is an on-going comment/text on what's going on. I joined in and found there was another Disser on. I jokingly said..."Where's Memom??? Dave if you see Memom pass by, tell her I said HI!" I had absolutely no idea you guys were really there....and then when I saw Trent...I freaked out. Then I realized you all were actually right there...and the little round light-up necklace thingy was actually Brookie....ohhhh what an exciting discovery...I think I posted about it on the wrong thread and everything! Then I realized everyone else knew you guys were there :rolleyes1 Oh well...it was still so exciting to see you guys and Trent and Jarvis were cracking me up! :rotfl2:

I love how Bella is asleep in daddy's lap whilst daddy is playing football...so cute!

Thank you! We were told on that she had two weeks to two months and she only made it 12 days, so we thought we had more time too. My two cousins each have a baby boy. 12 months and 14 months. I hate that they won't get to know their grandma. I'm sorry you had to go through this too

anna called me today. she and luke had spent the afternoon watching "the princess and the frog" for the first time and they both absolutely loved it. she said they were dancing to the awesome music in the living room. she said something about seeing it made her to want to go to disney to see the characters. i sent her the link to your pics and video of brooklynn and bella meeting princess tiana and prince naveen. she thought it was SO CUTE! just wanted to share that she and luke really enjoyed the pictures and video! :goodvibes

Oh I wish I could have spent NYE on the Poly Beach with you guys! Looks like you had tons of fun.

Best wishes for Bella's surgery Jill. You guys will stay in my thoughts and prayers!

I did the watching. :surfweb:

That's what I did the year before, and it was fun to see the chit-chat and dream about how pretty the fireworks must have been in person. It was shortly after that that we started discussing going for NYE 2010.

Congrats on the extra day !

Great pictures from the Poly on New Years , looks like a great dismeet

Saw Trent and Jarvis video on Heathers report and it was hilarious , true entertainment !

We are thrilled to have more Disney time. :thumbsup2

We did have a nice evening, and I feel sure we will do it again sometime. Just not sure when.

Great pics of your Dis meet!! Looks like Dave & Kathy have a great room:thumbsup2

They have the perfect room! It's right on the beach with a perfect castle view. :)

Oh I agree 100%!!! Of course, that means poor Chad would have had to do some dancing on the video as well. He can't say no to me when I ask him to do it in front of others!!
But, we did enjoy Trent and Jarvis's show! I thought it was so funny when I texted you guys and said, "I see you!!"

I'm glad you tuned in to the show!

What a great DisMeet!! Perfect way to ring in the new year!!

Being in Disney World at the end of an old year and the beginning of a new one - definitely cool. :cool1:

Great pictures MeMom. Kona looks delish!! I remember the update from others on NYE about the antics of Trent and Jarvis. Those two boys are hilarious! Glad to hear about Bella's new doctor! My daughter Morghan sees a pediatric specialist for surgery each 8 weeks and it's so important to feel comfortable with those working on your children.

Kona was very good. The steak is excellent.

You must have an honorary nursing degree, huh? Is next week braces week?

Usually when people say that to me I get worried, but not when my DIS friends say it

I love my family so much. This has been harder than when my grandpa died in November. I'm not very social either. But it depends on where I am and who I'm with.

I know your family will continue to be closer and stronger and create many more beautiful memories in the future for the little ones.

We all have our comfort zones. We're glad you feel comfortable around here.

I think you can save your quarters this year...maybe next year!

I'd love to go to Disney over New Years Eve but my husband does not deal with crowds very well...so its probably never going to be in the cards for us!

Okay, we'll put you on the list for next year. :)

It was very crowded at certain times and places, but with us getting up and out early, we did okay most of the trip

I remember watching the webcam that night and thinking ..... hey, that's them!!!
It looks like we'll be going down the week before Christmas again this year, the crowds were so much more manageable.
New Years Eve would have been fun though!

Do you know what your possible dates might be for October and December?

I didn't know who all was on there, but I knew there were some DIS people.

The October dates would be something in the teens. I'll check for sure when our fall break is. Not sure about December. I was hoping to go for Thanksgiving and have Trent come home for Christmas, but whatever suits Jill and Trent best is fine with me. We won't have as much time on a Thanksgiving trip as we would on a Christmas trip, but since we're going to be going fairly often, that's really okay. We could leave on Tuesday night of Thanksgiving week, be there Wed. morning, Thurs., Friday, Saturday, and start the drive back Saturday night, finishing it Sunday morning. Splitting it up in Perry and getting the free breakfast really does work nicely for us.

Spring break will be a good time to get in some relaxing DIS time. :goodvibes
Are you guys going to do a mini-trip or just hang out at home?
