Ringing in 2010, 6 months til we'll be back again

Cute DTD pictures!! No one I personally know has been up in the balloon. I wonder if it's a fun ride? How do you wear your pins MeMom? On a lanyard? I've thought about it but the kids would each probably want one and then it'd turn into an expensive habit for us. ;)

Do you trade pins or just keep the ones you buy? We have about 15 on a lanyard and DD trades a few each time we go, but we too are very reasonable about it. The lanyard is too heavy for DD to wear (without complaining) so we don't end up trading them as much as we could. It seems to stay in the room much more often than it makes it to the parks. I don't know if you are in the Disney Movie Club or not, but you get a free pin with every pruchase if you are a member. I've gotten some really cute ones that way and they are limited editions/exclusive to club members, etc. They don't charge shipping for the free pin either.

I LOVE your pin pictures. I have spent way too much money on pins, but my kids love to trade them, so it has been worth it. Maybe I should start taking pictures of them like you. I don't know if my kids would go for that.

Great pics of the pins MeMom! I was going to get a Boardwalk one this trip, but now I'm not so sure. I don't like Mickey and Minnie's eyes in that one...Have a Fantastic Friday!

Funny, I don't either :rotfl:

I love the DTD pictures -- I've never seen the birds out with their trainer. I think parrots are so pretty, but they are so big and SO loud. I have cockatiels, which are tiny compared to parrots, and they can be ridiculously loud.

I didn't see the balloon up when we were at DTD, but I did see it from the highway when we were on the ME going back to the airport. :sad2: I wanted to try it, but I was the only one who did, and I didn't really want to go alone.

Hope you have a fantastic Friday -- enjoy your weekend!

TGIF folks!! We've got a great weekend of weather planned for the Cincy area. How about everyone else?

The photos of Brooklynn and Bella crack me up! Each of them is very serious about what they want to accomplish and neither is at all interested in the other's plans. Hopefully, they will learn to come up with a common strategy soon. ;)

Something tells me Bella is going to be smaller, but mightier, and will be winning most of the battles between the girls while Brooklynn stomps back to her room in a huff. :rotfl:

Pretty weather here, too. Cold enough that there was ice on the road this morning, but the sun is shining and melting it away now.

I feel the same way about the pins...I've actually never even bought one because I have very little self restraint and would never be able to stop! :lmao:

The girls are adorable in that picture with Daisy and Donald. Too funny that Brooklynn is becoming a little camera ham :cutie:

That balloon! tinkgurl and I plan on trying to ride in July since we know she's had such bad luck with it in the past.

I just get pins here and there for resorts, rides, restaurants, etc. that represent that trip.

I'd love to go in the balloon with you guys. :)

Yes, Donald looks like he is at the end of his picture-taking patience, but the girls are adorable! :goodvibes

I have never seen that Maelstrom pin! Connor needs that one for his lanyard! I will be looking at ebay when I get home! :thumbsup2

I contemplated getting that pin. Maybe I will get it this summer.

Fridays aren't bad when they are payday Fridays and my girls are coming the next day. :thumbsup2

he must be related to my husband.

Haha! Ditto!

Maybe they should form a 'Donald's Snap it Quick and Get Outta Here' Club. :)

Who will be first to try it out and come back with a firsthand report?

I don't wear the pins. I put them on a corkboard at school. Some of them are holding papers, such as bus schedules, etc., and some of them are just sitting there being cute.

No trading. They just become very nice push pins, and I get a lot of comments on them.

Jill was in the movie club. I don't know if she is still doing it or not.

I think Brooklynn is going to love trading when she is old enough to understand the concept. I bet she can get started a little this summer.

The birds are loud. Dawn would have freaked out, most likely.

Maybe you and the BF can go up in the balloon sometime, or is he the one who is afraid of heights? I think that he is, so maybe you'll have to enlist a dear DIS friend to accompany you on your flight.

Yeah, he's the one who is afraid of heights. If I do end up going on it, it might have to be kept a secret from him because he freaks out even when people he cares about do things that involve heights, even if it's completely safe. He didn't even like the idea of Kailyn and I parasailing. I guess it will have to be with a dear DIS friend! ;)

:cool1: Though I refuse to go parasailing. I did it once and that was more then enough for me! I love going up in balloons, even if they are tethered!

I love your DTD pictures - the pictures of the girls are so cute. I would love to do the balloon one day. I wonder if there is an age requirement??? It would be a nice family thing to do.

The weekend is almost upon us:cool1:. Memom and all the trip report friends, I hope you enjoy the days ahead. Nashville is expecting great weather in the 60's. Hopefully, all of us get great weather.

Love your DTD photos. The only bad part is that you take all these pictures, and then I see things I hadn't noticed before, and then my "I Want..." list grows and grows! ;)

Have a great weekend---I think I remember that you and Jill and the girls are going to Memphis for the zoo. Have fun and be safe! :thumbsup2

I'm sure we can round up some fearless volunteers. If we're ever down there at the same time, we'll go up with you. :)

I'd love to get pictures of DTD from up in the balloon.

I haven't read all the details, so I don't know what the age requirements are. We'll have to research and come back and share the answer.

It's been pretty today, but still cool. The wind was cold. I skidded in ice this morning on the way to school, so spring has not sprung quite yet.

Next weekend for the zoo. This weekend is family hanging out time. Jamie is here for the weekend, and Brandon and Jarvis are coming to eat tomorrow night.

ohh poor baby. I hate Food poisoning. yuck.

I've had it once, and it was the sickest I can ever remember being. I don't take any chances with any 'iffy' food after that episode.

Bella and Donald both look like they are done having their pictures taken. Will you be taking part in Operation: take honey from the world. Meaning taking the Pooh log for Bella's party?:confused3:laughing:

We should check it out in May!

Maybe so. Depends on time and money, I guess. It would be fun to fill a balloon with your own group, wouldn't it? Maybe if you guys are planning on getting the little kids there this summer, we could do it then, because we'd have a larger group.

I have been on the prowl for a log, and I will find one. I used to have a bunch of them when we chopped down a tree, but some neighbors wanted it for firewood, so we gave it to them. Then I just have to add a big plush Pooh, Tigger, and Piglet, and we've got our party photo op. :)
We'll see what the Memphis Disney Store has when we go there next weekend.

That's a good idea so that way you don't get carried away with the pins. :thumbsup2

We would loveee you to come up in the balloon with us. One day!!

We're working on them coming in May actually. They signed up for the Give a Day program yesterday, but I read today that they've hit their 1 million voucher limit, so I don't know if they made it in time. I'll have to check out the prices for it! It would be fun! The kids would love it!

Hi friends!

First I have to share some news!

:lovestruc I GOT A KITTEN LAST NIGHT! :lovestruc

(I have really missed the company of my dear Mimi.)

My new ball of "grey fluff" is so adorable and playful....I'll put pics up tomorrow because......

My DMom and Lexi are going to pick up her brother tomorrow while I'm at work. We just fell in love with him and decided we had enough lovin for them both!

Timi (my other cat) has been excellent with her, he started licking her from the start and even watches over her while she sleeps in her basket. ;)

I couldn't wait to go home today so I could snuggle her!

Have a wonderful visit this weekend MeMom!

How nice for Jamie to come too!

Break out the Mickey waffle maker....your going to have a full house...:thumbsup2

I personally would be overjoyed if you decide on Christmas 2011!

I will be there and we can have our DIS meet. :santa:

CharelstonPrincess I will miss you by a day, I'm arriving on Dec.24.2011 :upsidedow

I have to add that black handbag to my collection, did you only see it at POFQ?

I got a pin code and I'm debating making a seperate reservation for the first few nights of my trip at POFQ! Your pics are so lovely that I want to stay there. Swim at the very cool pool!

I enjoyed looking at all the neat pins! There are so many great ones!
We only have a few, but I can see how they would be very addictive.

What a coincidence....

It was my DMom's birthday yesterday and I gave her an invitation to go on the 'Character's of Flight' in her birthday card.

She was thrilled, she has always wanted to go in a hot air balloon and this is the next best thing.

I'm sure Tinkgirl will beat me to it, but I will be anxious to hear how she liked it.

The view looks amazing, you are so high up! :)

Have a good evening all! :goodvibes

I loved the pictures with Daisy, Donald, and the girls. My first thought at seeing Donald was, he was sick of shopping.

The Hallmark stores have a stuffed Donald Duck as their Easter bonus if you buy 3 cards. It was cute but do not pick it up by it's ears (I did).

Love to see the pins. I enjoy looking at them, but I'm quite afraid to buy any because I'm afraid it would start a huge obsession.

We got Hannah's big girl bed (a twin) set up tonight with Princess and the Frog sheets, she is so excited!

Have a wonderful visit this weekend!

I'm happy to hear that Brooklynn is feeling better! No fun feeling sick!
Just a thought, if you are thinking about trading pins for Brooklynn, you might want to buy a "lot" on ebay. They are cheap and make great traders! That's what we do for Baylor. He has a blast!

I love the pictures of the girls in front of the pin trading store....
Bella looks like she is ready to be finished! Brooklynn on the other hand could pose all day long!
