Our other field trips are grade level as well. However the zoo is an annual whole school activity. Our parent group is funding it with all the budget cuts.
They don't let us do many field trips. Since most of our kids are on free lunch and many of them don't pay. The school covers what the kids don't bring, and we just don't have any money these days for stuff like that.
Even though we stayed at POR on our last trip, we never made it over to see the lobby of POFQ. It's really cool! I think I may have sold POFQ short.
And you're getting ready to do my very favorite thing about staying at POR - the boat ride to DTD.
I love the pretty walk between the two resorts. Next time you are there, that will ba a great place for you to run. It's empty, beautiful, and peaceful.
I think that is neat that the whole school goes on a trip!
We're not even allowed to pick where we go for our grade level trips. Every grade level is assigned a trip by the district. And there's only one trip per year.
Great pictures as always MeMom! I love that I am getting to go on a tour of so many resorts through your pictures. I'm hoping in June to be able to explore some in person.
Those earrings in the first shopping pic (and probably a couple pair more

) will be coming home with me next month. I figure those will be easy to cram into my carry on bag.
We used to be required to take one out-of-town trip, but they don't have the money for that any more. Third-grade liked going to Chattanooga to the Aquarium.
I hope you get to see some resorts, too. Each one has its own unique feel and smell that can't be sensed in the pictures unless you have been in there for yourself. Once you've been in them, you can easily see yourself in the pictures that other people then bring back and share, and it's very nice to 'be there' again in that way.
Earrings are the only jewelry I wear, so I always look at those.
Do I need help if I am a grown woman and I know all the answers to the P & F trivia!?
Those earrings are pretty. Haunted Mansion LIFE sounds like a fun game for a Disney night. We had our 70 day dance tonight and did Epcot. We had Sunshine Seasons dinner (roasted chicken, mashed potatoes, carrots, and strawberry shortcake) for dinner. Watched Soarin', played Mario Cart for Test Track, played Donde esta Donald?, and did Sum of All Thrills. It was a good night and after the girls had a softball game.
The boat to DTD sounds nice. I've never done that, maybe in May?
You probably need help, as much as most of us around here do, but it's really okay - you are safe with us.
Ooh, you've got me thinking about that good chicken!
You'll enjoy the boat ride to/from DTD.
Ah, POFQ -- still my favorite moderate resort! Love the Princess and the Frog ornaments on the tree.
Those are very cute earrings. I plan on getting a new pair when we are there this summer. Loving all the Christmas pins as well -- guess I will need to budget for those in 2011.
Have you guys picked the dates for 2011? I guess we will think about alternating holidays, if Trent is going to be there. I'd like to go for Thanksgiving, if possible, this year, so maybe we could do Christmas in 2011.
I just love all the pictures I see of the POFQ lobby. Maybe someday I'll make it over there to actually see it in person!
I liked the "paintings" from Princess and the Frog on the Christmas tree. What a cool little touch!
I like it because the sun shines through all that glass so nicely in there. It just makes you warm as soon as you walk in.
Oh great, another game I'm going to have to buy!

We have started a Disney game collection, and I need this one!
I have several Disney games and lots of Disney puzzles. I figure they will get a lot of use as my grandkids grow up.
I love the atmosphere at POFQ. I would love to stay there. Heck, there really isn't a Disney resort that I don't want to stay at. (Ok, maybe All Star Sports.) The Princess and the Frog touches were very nice. Disney seems to think of everything.
Loved the purse. Wasn't that the one that you planned on getting? Did you ever buy it? If you are like me you will look at it and drool over it for a year before buying it, if then!
You know, I have stayed at Sports twice, mostly because the trips were late bookings and that's what was left, but even that has its own 'vibe', and it's not all bad.
I have decided that when I get my income tax back, I am going to pay off our rooms for this summer and then treat myself to the $20 purse I saw on Disney Shopping. I'll take a picture of it when I get it. I haven't bought a new purse in years, and the one I have is looking a bit worn, so when I have the money, I'm just going to not think about it and take the plunge. Or in this case, hit submit.
Oh POFQ....

It felt like going home for a minute! I absolutely
need to get that Haunted Mansion game of Life!! That is amazing! Thanks for sharing that!
It is such a pretty resort - the perfect definition of quaint. The horses clip-clopping by, the shaded streets...I love it.
Erica needs that Haunted Mansion game, too.
Love the Fort and PO. POFQ is another place we did not make it to.
Gotta make during the holidays again to finish the resorts I did not get to see in person.
Fabulous for you Mothers Day trip.
Glad you get to go to the
Disney Store next weekend.
We had snow all day yesterday but nothing stuck

No snow day for us.
The Mother's Day trip has made a world of difference in my whole attitude about getting through this winter and spring.
It snowed off and on all day here, too, but no sticking.
POFQ looks so pretty. When we stayed at POR, we used to take out the boats and always went by there.
I love all the Princess and the Frog ornaments -- I am ashamed to say that I still haven't seen it. I really, really need to!
It comes out on DVD while I am on spring break. I think Brooklynn and I will be watching it a time or two while she is up here hanging out with me.
If you ever get a chance, take the walk along the river between POR and POFQ. You won't be sorry. It is one of the most peaceful places in Disney World.

I hope everyone has a Thrilling Thursday planned. Mine will be filled with thrilling ThinkLink testing, Running Records testing, and after-school tutoring, followed by I'm not sure what for dinner, a shower, some Dising, and bed.
Yes, I know, I am about as thrilling as they come.
