POFQ is so pretty! I stayed there with a friend in 2008 and didn't get to see too much of the grounds and other pretty things. So, I really enjoyed your pictures MeMom. You're so great about making time to capture the small things that so many overlook. Love that black purse especially.

We love POFQ it was the very 1st resort we stayed at ! DD would have gone crazy over all the Princess & The Frog stuff . The tree was so pretty with the little paintings on it . Can't wait to see some DTD shopping pictures !

Happy Thursday, MeMom!!! I do have dates in mind for 2011 -- the Saturday before Christmas (the 17th maybe?) until December 23. We need to be home to have Christmas with both of our families or there is likely to be a mutiny.

We'll have to see what's going on with everyone's schedules, but it's nice to know when everyone will be there.

Thrilling Thursday, indeed. But only b/c I don't have to work tomorrow and our weekend weather is looking good!

Another terrific MeMom shopping trip. I love the "swirly" Mickey head earrings if that makes any sense. I'll have to look for those next time. I can't believe I'm saying this but I really have to spend more time shopping. You see so many things that I must just pass right by!

Anyway, I LOVE POFQ! We have stayed there twice and I just love the smallness of the resort and the closeness to DTD. If our family was smaller, we'd probably stay there all the time. Now it's POR. The fountain in the lobby of POFQ sets the mood right from the start!

My start wasn't nearly as nice, but at least the day is over and all the ThinkLink testing is done.

The POFQ fountain in very pretty, and just being around the New Orleans type decor is different for us Tennessee folks.

I'm a little late on this, but I love all the Fort Wilderness photos. If I'm ever there at Christmas time again, we're going to have to make sure we head over there to check out the decorations.

We're getting so close to our due date (a little more than 3 weeks!) and we CAN'T wait!!! The baby's room is ready, the hospital bag is packed, and the dogs have been extensively talked to about the impending arrival!

Soon it will be time to plan baby's first Disney trip. I've been adding money each week to my Disney fund, so that should help convince DH!

Ooh! I love the POFQ pics! It's such a quaint resort and since it was the first place we stayed on property, it has a soft spot in my heart! Those little Mickey earrings are just darling. I think I am gonna start saving my pennies to get those in October!

We've got a thrilling Thursday planned here. It's Ryan's birthday, so the day is filled with buying something special from each of the boys, cake eating and dinner at Red Robin!

I did buy one pair of earrings.

Gotta love the campers at FW! They really get into the spirit - anywhere else it would be over the top but not there!! We went to FW on our Dec trip but only at night for the campfire and we didn't walk around but we did see a lot of the lights and decorations from the bus. I had seen the special on Travel Channel, too so I knew to look for them. No pictures though. See, I wasn't sure at the time that I would be doing a TR, even though I had thought about it...I hadn't really committed to it yet in my mind, it felt overwhelming, so I didn't take pictures with that in mind. That, and the fact that there were 28 of us that I was trying to keep up with - couldn't be snapping pictures all day!

POFQ is so pretty, too! Love all the Princess Tiana stuff in the shop - I think her dress is soooo beautiful!

Those decorations would work so much at home, but at Ft. Wilderness, they are just cool.

Isn't it sad that the kids who lack life experiences are so limited now a days for field trips. They need to see the world around them...and barely get to see anything.

As for testing, I think I am done writing plans for reading... test prep time....
I might have to find out about your ThinkLink... I wish I could come up with one of these things... then I could go to Disney whenever and forever-I'd be rich!

We were just talking about our poor kids yesterday in a meeting. They lack so much in being able to relate to the world around them, because some of them rarely get out of their neighborhoods. They are, indeed, the ones who need to go to the zoo, park, pioneer fort, farm, factory, etc. We have enlisted the help of a lady who knows all about gardening, and today she tilled up some land in back of the school. The whole second grade is going to participate in planting, watering, and weeding the garden, and I think it is going to be a great experience for them. I try to bring in things when I can so that they can touch, taste, smell, feel, etc. for themselves, but they need so much more than what I can provide.

They are a nice reminder of a special place, ride, or activity of a trip, they're not super expensive, and they pack light for traveling. I will probably acquire many more throughout the years.
