Ringing in 2010, 6 months til we'll be back again

Boy, it looks crowded! I'm going to miss toontown. Maybe if we get a bunch of Disers and start a protest they'll move the new things somewhere else.
I got tears in my eyes when I read about Bella. I'm praying that she will be o.k. I hate to see the poor little thing be in pain.

Today my doctor called back during Henry's nap time. Which woke him up, of course! They always call at the worst times it seems. I'm VERY glad it's not anything urgent!!!! :thumbsup2

Thinking of little Bella... we had to take Toby to the eye doctor at a very young age too - thankfully he was given the all clear and I know Bella will be too.

Loved the updates, my favourite pic EVER so far is the Candy Cane Christmas Trees! I want one BADLY!!!

Just jumping in here trying to catch up...I just posted on Jill's FB page before I realized what was going on....so I would like to add my prayers to everyone elses! I am sure things will be fine and it sounds like you're in good hands!

Memom...love the pics but the crowds are simply amazing!!! I was just reading details about the fantasyland expansion....I think :confused3 maybe that Pooh's playspot is staying put....so hephalumps will be fine! Here is a link: http://gdpinvestigation.blogspot.com/2010/01/gdp-special-report-new-fantasyland.html

I'm pretty excited about the Beast's Castle area and a new restaurant. I bet that's going to be cool. Dueling Dumbos and all the circus stuff is probably going to be cool, too, but I think us oldies will always have a special place in our hearts for the old, humble little ride that we all headed to as soon as we made our way through the castle. This new set-up is going to make the wait so much nicer for little ones. It will really be interesting to watch the changes in the years ahead, and I am really excited about see it all and getting thousands of new pictures! :yay:

Hi MeMom and Jill!! I was soooo behind but now I'm all caught up!! Whew!! I am just LOVING all of the pictures--all of the Christmas decorations have me sooo excited for this next Christmas when we go to WDW!!

I'll be praying for that sweet preemie baby boy and for Bella as well. And Jill--I am so glad to hear that ya'll are ok after the tornado!!

You will love Main Street at Christmas. It is so pretty, and when the trolley comes out with the singers, it screams an old-fashioned holiday! I love it!

Jill, you know how I feel about tornadoes :scared1::eek::scared1: so I am glad to hear everyone is safe after yesterday's scare. I hope that is the worst of the season.

Glad to hear Bella has her appointment scheduled now. :goodvibes

Tornado time will be here soon as the weather warms up. Seems like the Huntsville area does have its share of them, doesn't it?

We'll treasure our pictures of the old Fantasyland, but I know we will love what is coming, too. :)

Bella won't be down long. She's a go-getter!

Today my doctor called back during Henry's nap time. Which woke him up, of course! They always call at the worst times it seems. I'm VERY glad it's not anything urgent!!!! :thumbsup2

Note to Brook: Put phone on vibrate while Henry naps.

They were cute, weren't they. Those candy cane trees could last you the whole year just breaking off a little piece at a time.

Note to Brook: Put phone on vibrate while Henry naps.

:rotfl2: If I know where my phone is...usually when it rings I'm flying around the house trying to find it! I'm horrible at keeping track of my phone...but at least I've learned to keep it charged. :rolleyes1

has anybody tried the disney parks app for verizon wireless. I just downloaded it today! Let me tell you..it is AWESOME! its $10 for 180 days. It tells you the weather for the day, attraction schedules for the day, character meet times, whether or not fast passes are available. it even lists the park map! Of course my mom and i just put together a little touring booklet and then i downloaded the app...probably don;t need half the stuff in the book now but oh well!

2 weeks today!! YEAH!!

Thanks for the review, we are going to get it when we are 150 days out from our trip in Sept so we can play with it before we go.

I'm finally getting the chance to catch up. I'm praying for Bella and the little boy at your school. One of my students was hit hard by tradegy for the quake in Haiti. She lost her uncle, her aunt, and a cousin in the quake. One of the children in the family survived and now they are in the process of trying to get her here to be with them. Pray for her to make it here safely.

Hey Memom,
We finally got to make the gingerbread house tonight. Here are the results.:scared1:

Emily, my free spirited child, liked decorating it until she figured out that decorating herself is more fun.:sad2:

Sorry to hijack your trip report.:)

Brook, I am the very same way about my phone. I just was saying today that I have to call myself at least once a week to locate my phone.

The gingerbread house looked like a lot of fun even if it didn't pass its final building inspection. ;)

I can take two feet of snow and freezing temps no problem. Tornadoes

They have sure done some damage around here in the past couple of years. One of the tornadoes paralyzed a mom of two little boys here. They later got an Extreme Makeover house, which is just right down the road from us. I heard recently she was having some serious health issues. I'll have to ask a teacher at my school, who is a friend of hers.

Okay, I have had my kids call my phone on more that twenty occasions because I can't remember where I put it, but here's what I do that makes me look really stoooopid. I will be on the phone with someone, and as I am gathering up my things to leave, I get my purse, keys, glasses, and phone. I'll have everything in my possession except the darn phone, which I cannot find to save my life...
until I remember I am talking on it.

I saw that you are having cake at your house tonight. :thumbsup2

Maybe Trent should check into that. He's the one with the fancy phone amongst our bunch.

I will celebrate your two weeks! :cheer2: :cheer2:

I bet that will be fun to play with. I'll be looking forward to your report of it.

Thoughts and prayers for your student's family. That is truly heartbreaking. Many, many lives have been altered forever because of this tragic event.

Ours did this at one point until all the girls gathered 'round to hold it until the gluey icing hardened a bit.

You are always welcome to hijack. I love seeing everyone's families at play. :)

One day last week, I couldn't find the phone.
Nothing unusual. I had Trent call it.
I came back to the bedroom to find the cat ringing! :cat:
He was laying on top of it.
Dorky cat! :rotfl:

Hi Jill! :wave2:

I'm following Brook over here to see how you rung in the New Year at WDW!
(We're planning to do the same in 2011.)

Your girls are adorable!

I do that all the time! Don't worry, you're not the only one

Recently, my cell phone decided to only ring when it wants to. Sometimes it rings, sometimes it doesn't :confused3 It almost always rings when my mom calls, but not my dad :rotfl: So most of the time I leave it on vibrate. If it's in my pocket I'll feel it or if it's right near me I'll hear it. But it's interesting when I lose it :lmao:

Welcome! Please make yourself at home. We really enjoyed the fireworks. Thanks for the comment on the girls!

It drives John crazy that my phone is usually on vibrate. I can't have it at work so I will just set it to vibrate so it doesn't ring in my bag and then I won't turn it back on and he will have called me 5 times on the way home and I didn't hear it.

Greg does this and it drives me insane! The problem is that he cannot hear the buzzing (a skill to which I am very adept, much to the dismay of high school students who think they are sneaky!). His phone also occasionally calls me back after he has not answered my call. It drives me crazy because I will yell into the phone foolishly thinking maybe he will hear me :sad2:

K_reile, Following you around today -

I love that app and will get it again. Knowing the fastpass availability and return time before I walk over to the FP machines is the best. I think I had it timed so that the second the bus played the park music as you pull in, I had the attractions I wanted loaded up and checking retrun times on FP ! Outside a park, I could only get low, moderate, and high demand on attractions, and if FP were still available.

I had to use my son's phone for the app. He has a simple LG phone. I have a Samsung alias II and the app cannot be downloaded to my phone yet :sad2:
It does not use much data time either - another plus for those not having an unlimited internet plan :thumbsup2

i'm glad to hear that is does not take much data as i do not have an internet plan.

Funny thing was, he never budged the whole time the phone was ringing.
I guess he wasn't picking up for Trent.

How many phones do you confiscate in a school year?

Trent is talking about getting that for the summer trip.

***********************************

Hope you guys all had a good weekend. Jill is going to put up the next update that takes us through the Crystal Palace meal. After that, they all went back to the room, and I stayed for castle pictures, so we'll pick up again soon.

We also have made some ADR's for the summer trip, so maybe Jill can share those with you, too, since she has the exact days and times. We only have a few spread throughout the trip, so we will mostly be eating counter service and having some sandwiches in the room.

Enjoy the rest of your evening!
