Ringing in 2010, 6 months til we'll be back again

Must have been the wind....

That or excited little guys who slopped on some decorations, then ran to play, then came back to slop on some more decorations. I didn't get a picture of the front part with the door. I'll try to do that later.

I was determined to catch up on this report today... I haven't had much time to Dis since getting back from the world on the 10th.

It only took about 3.5 hours to read the 35 pages. :rotfl:

Loved all of the updates you've put up so far! The pictures are fantastic and I can tell you've had some great family time since your trip. It sounds like there will be a big crowd going to MOA this October (I checked, it's about a 7 hour drive from here... Louisville is about 9 hours...). You'd think being in the middle of the country would make things closer. Not so. :lmao: With our move to KS later this year, Wigd's house would be my best bet to getting to meet you all. ;)

I guess it's time to get off the computer and be productive for the day. It's only 2pm...... :upsidedow

You haven't missed much. As you can see, we've just made it to the room and brought in the luggage. I wish our actual vacations went as slow as our reports. ;)

Wow MeMom, what a nice night! :goodvibes

I love that Jim Shore Mickey, Minnie, and Snowman statue! I think I might need to find that!

The gingerbread house turned out great! I used to love doing those!

You and your husband to be can look forward to doing that with your kids to be. You'll have to have a little Tink flying over your gingerbread roof. :tink:

What a small world!

We can sing it now, if you'd like! :dance3:

Looks like you had a wonderful winter party. I love Brooklynn's gingerbread house, she did a great job!!!!

She had a little help from the boys. Carson wasn't real interested in the decorating until the very end, but he wanted in on the action before the icing got put away. They all had icing all over them and the tablecloth.

What a very fun night with family and friends! The gingerbread house turned out very nicely - good job Brooklynn!! :goodvibes

Wonderful pictures of Bella from Drew as well...so so sweet. I remember at the NYE meet when Drew picked up Bella Jill even commented on it because it's a rare event!! But, I think you are right - he does think she's awfully cute. How could you not?! :cutie:

Did you take any close-ups of the Pop tree? What are the ornaments, it looks just beautiful.

I missed Drew picking her up on NYE! That would be the possibly second time he's done that! :rotfl:

Yes, we do have some close-ups of the tree. Not sure where they are in the report, but I know I took a couple and I am guessing Drew probably did.

you all are too cute! I love it! My DH and DS think I am the biggest dork when I try and put stuff like that together! I need a girl - I would at least get about 13 years out of a daughter before I was a Dork mom! I love the winter themed party- did you plan for the plates on the table to line up like a snowman in the first picture ( I couldn't figure out how to quote the reply without having all of the pictures in the reply- if anyone can each me I would be most appreciative :flower3:- I am always lookin to brush up on my Dis-ing skills!). I love large and impromtu get togethers too- although I am a much better host when things are planned out but you seem to pull it off without a hitch and everyone looked happy and I am sure had happy full bellies! I know Bella did!

Speaking of boys- I am hiding out in the bedroom because DH is watching "Saw" :scared1: I am petrified of scary movies- even the commercials- now if I had a daughter we would be hiding out in the bedroom together watching Cinderella or Snow White :cloud9:.

Oh and I love your Jim Shore piece- I would love to start collecting them but I am afraid of the damage $$$ I could do with those!

Yes, you need a girl to enable all of your Disney passion. I wouldn't have ear as much Disney fun without Jill and the girls. The boys would enjoy the parks and all, but there wouldn't be 'parties' and all of the other silliness that goes on. I'd have to adopt another family to be with sometimes.

I hate scary movies. My students through the years have watched so many scary movies that I would not dream of seeing!

Wigd has done some Jim Shore damage! :rotfl::lmao::cool1::rotfl2:

She is the shopping queen! :worship:

Sounds like a fun night. I love the gingerbread house. Also your Jim Shore. DH got me a Donuld Duck one for christmas. I think he might want a few friends to keep him company.:rolleyes1
After christmas I got a gingerbread house and a gingerpop kit. The gingerpop kit was such a nightmare it made me scared to do the house. You made me in the mood to do it tonight now. It has been raining on and off the whole day and now I'm biting my nails watching the Jets game.:cheer2:

Donald will certainly need some friends. Won't it be fun picking them out? There are so many fun things to choose from!

After the luggage had been put in the room, I made my way to the Pop gift shop.

This nice CM start chatting with me about the new 2010 items. I told her I was going to be taking pictures of things to put in an internet Disney report. She posed and smiled, as if she wanted to be in it, so I started to snap the picture. Then she laughed and said, "Oh no, you don't have to take a picture of me!" I said that was fine - that she was more than welcome to be in the report.

Here's the shot.

I had that just arrived at Disney World feeling along with the Christmas holiday feeling, so I was a pretty happy girl!

IMG_2125.jpg

We have purchased these calendars for several years, but I have been less than impressed for the last couple of years with the quality of the pictures, so I didn't get one this year.

IMG_2126.jpg

This one does look pretty good, but I'm satisfied to take a break from the traditional calendar this year. What we decided to do is make one of our own with pictures of the girls. We have gone calendarless for January, however, as we haven't gotten around to doing it yet.

IMG_2128.jpg

Well, Brook, you didn't have to wait long. Here's a tree close-up now.

IMG_2129.jpg

Jill was going to let the girls get some rest, but I was ready to roll, so I went ahead on my own. I knew I could get in some picture time! :thumbsup2

First bus stop picture for this trip.

As I put up these pictures, I recall my excitement at being back here.

Buttons waiting to be worn by happy visitors.

I couldn't remember the time of our Crystal Palace reservation. I was pretty sure it was 5:00, but something kept telling me 5:20, so I stopped in at Guest Relations and asked. It was 5, like I had thought.

IMG_2139.jpg

Isn't it lovely at Christmas?

Oh, christmas decorations. Disney is such a different place at christmas. I don't know what I'd do with out it.
I told myself to get the calendar before the November trip a week after we got home I saw a picture of it and thought darn it, forgot it. Maybe I'll get one in December for 2010. Now, I have a national park calendar and a Toy Story 3 for the laundry room.
We're doing our gingerbread house tonight after the Simpsons. You got me in such a mode for it. I'll post some pics when it's done. Wish me luck.

The time was now:

A report is not a report without balloons.

Balloons with Christmas decorations over them are even better. :santa:

IMG_2156.jpg

This is not the guy we usually see playing, but he was there several times when I walked by this time.

IMG_2159.jpg

Then I went over to let Walt and Mickey know we were back yet again

IMG_2160.jpg

Aren't they just so sweet together?

IMG_2161.jpg

I like/appreciate this more every time I go.

Toy Story 3? Where did you get that? That would be great for my classroom.

We surely do want to see the gingerbread house fun!

It's a sign-you posting your Xmas Pics just now that is - see even though we are not going to Disney this year- I keep telling myself that, but I don't truly believe it- I called Disney just for fun to see if we had a pin- and we did! But it was for the stinky gift cards- they are stinky to us because we don't have AP's and always add the dining- so what I really need is a 40% code- not asking too much ;)! anyhow I priced for May just to see and it is way more than we want to do right now sooooooo after seeing your xmas pics I will beg and plead with DH to go for the holidays. I think he will budge on that because hopefully by then I will be back at work and we will have had an 18 month break from Disney by then :scared1:. To cheer myself up today from the not going to Disney blues I did 2 wonderful things: #1 - I bought myself the Hidden Magic of Walt Disney World book with my Borders 33% off rewards code- I will let you know how it is if you don't already have it. The second thing....and this was also my mothers day gift- my girlfriends and I bought tickets to Wicked- which is coming to Raleigh in May- the same time that we normally would go to Disney- so it should help to take my mind off of it. I have always wanted to see it and after reading Punkins NY TR it made me wish I had seen it when I still lived in NY- so when I found out it was coming here I was soooo thrilled! No Mary Poppins in our neck of the woods though :confused3 which I believe you will all be doing this spring?

Again- your christmas pics are wonderful and have got me sooo excited about going at that time of the year- I know that there are many many many many more pics to follow and that will only make me want to go more! I hope you have a close up of the Pop Tree as I too am curious as to what the ornaments could be?

What a wonderful update! :goodvibes Love the gingerbread house...so cute!!
And oh how I love pecan pie! Mmm mmm!!
Jiminy is so cute in the window! He's just peeking right out there! :goodvibes
Let's see....I also really liked that shirt in the Emporium with Walt and Mickey...so cute :)
When I saw your close up of Walt and Mickey I think I got a little something in my eye ;)
Thanks for all of your wonderful pictures of the decorations and the stroll down Main Street!

I couldn't figure out how to quote the reply without having all of the pictures in the reply- if anyone can each me I would be most appreciative :flower3:- I am always lookin to brush up on my Dis-ing skills!

What I do is just quote as normal and then highlight and delete everything I don't want.

Also, I write the whole report and then highlight and color, bold, or size it all at once. It seems like a lot of people do that to each sentence or paragraph, when I go back to quote them, and that just seems like a lot of extra work to me. I guess I'm lazy, but it seems easier to do that one time instead of a bunch of times.

The shopping queen shoulda, woulda, coulda, and the IASW T next to it, but we didn't see these shirts....

They will be there in March! :dance3:

I bought the Small World one in October and the Mr. Toad one this past trip!

And you always look so cute in your Disney shirts! You still have to take pictures of your souvenirs for everyone to see, 'cause you got some good stuff! :)

Brooklynn wants to say hello!

:laundy: - laundry one

:rotfl: - pink rolly one

:wizard: - Hollywood Studios one

:scared1: - the silly blue thing one that pops his hair up.

:dance3: - dancing ones

pirate: - the pirate one

:beach: - umbrella one

:rockband: - the drum ones

:eeyore: - and MeMom's favorite E-War

i have to agree. i've gotten one 3 years in a row now (including this year) and the pictures just aren't that great. i've seen better pictures on the disboards!

i LOVE the mickey's christmas carol window displays! thanks for posting the pictures of them. i don't remember them being there last year (2008).

I like/appreciate this more every time I go.

IMG_2162.jpg

:goodvibes i do, too.

Yes, I was right! It was you shopping! I can't wait to check that gift shop out!

Yay my favorite park! Where exactly do you go at the MK to get your button? I know we'll have to get a "Just Engaged" one in March and then a "1st Visit" for the little guy in July!

Oh my gosh, I LOVE those window displays! They definately did not have those there when we were there in 2001 for Christmas. How amazing the updates have been!

Loved the Christmas Carol window displays. We didn't see those.

It looked like a beautiful day. The sky was so blue.

Must be nice to stroll around MK alone. I'd love to have about an hour to do that one time.

I love the Christmas Carol window displays. Thanks for letting me tag along while you shop. ;)

Everytime we go, we see so much, but there is still so much to see.

This trip we made in the Emporium but missed all the displays outside the Emporium. It was during Spectro once and too crowded to make it up Main street on the outside.

The Morning we went we were busy doing Photopass pictures all the way up main street. On the way out we took the train to the front.

Building that case to return. Like I have to convince anyone here on the boards. :goodvibes

I am meeting my friends tomorrow to go over Photopass pictures from our trip. I fully expect to discuss the next trip we are taking together, and I will not be the one to bring it up. They are hooked.

I got a voice mail a week after we returned with " last week at this time we were ....." They are hooked I tell ya.

Oh MeMom, your pictures are just so wonderful!!:goodvibes I can't wait to see it at Christmas next year!

I really like that 2010 bag that was in one of the first few pictures. Did you happen to see that anywhere other than Pop?

Hi to Brooklyn!:flower3: Cute as a button she is!!:goodvibes
