Ringing in 2010, 6 months til we'll be back again

Just wanted to say that we read our letters today! The kids were so pleased! I think we will write again after Spring Break. They loved the illustrations and are itching to do some drawings for their Tennessee buddies!:goodvibes

Those FW piccies are AMAZING!!! I wish people in the UK were more enthusiastic about decorations at Christmas time!

I am so excited and have to share with you! The plans for our trip NEXT YEAR (!!!) are coming along. My Mum wants to get the flights booked ASAP so she is trying to get those sorted out. We arrive on 12th August 2011 and leave 3 whole weeks later!

We are staying in a villa but I am hoping to get us all in a Disney hotel for 1 night - the night before my Mum turns 60.

Is August too late for your summer trips? Would have been so great to try and arrange to meet you all and introduce Toby to his Disney baby friends!

I chatted to my sister yesterday and we are going to try and book a breakfast in Cinderella's Castle for my Princess niece who is 4yrs and into everything Disney Princessy! She watched Princess and the Frog and Sunday and loved it so much! We are also going to do a Crystal Palace breakfast on my Mum's birthday as Pooh is her all-time favourite character.

Lastly, the best news... we have worked out the dates so that I will spend my birthday in Orlando too!!!!!!

Very exciting!

Great update MeMom :thumbsup2 I still have it in the plans to go one year over Christmas and when we do after seeing all your great FW pictures , we will def be heading over there to checkout all the decorations !

I bet you wanted to break free all those stuff animals in that window !

They did need some breathing room, didn't they???

Oh wow!!! I can't believe all the decorations that those folks put out at the Wilderness resort!! Whoa!!!!
Oh, and to stay 7 months out of the year!!! Wowzer!!!!!!! That is some vacation there!

I think they just have those kinds of jobs where they can work from their computers. I know Dave (of NYE Dave & Kathy) said as long as he has his computer, he's free to go wherever. Sure would be nice to be wealthy and free to roam. ::yes::

I think I could be quite good at that!!! :thumbsup2

Maybe you'll be handing out candy canes to Brooklynn's and Bella's kids at The Fort someday! :woohoo:

Yup :goodvibes

When we stayed in the cabins there were only 4 of us. Patrick's mom just wanted to try them out. Since there were only 4, the one bathroom wasn't really an issue, but I can see it being a problem as the numbers go up.

I'd really like to stay there at least for a night or two sometime. I like the rustic style of living, and there's no nicer place to be rustic than in a Disney campground. :)

Ok. I am all caught up. Wow! I Miss a few days and it takes a week to catch up. :0) Trent- Congratulations! MeMom- Congratulations on your mothers day trip!
This has been such a nice day. I am sitting on my patio under blue skys 75 ish degrees with breezes, listening to radio365 (disney music of course) and catching up. Can you tell my spring break has started and the baby is napping.
Cabins- we have stayed in one with 4 adults (some larger than others) and a child and it was great. no issues really with bathrooms that I can recall. They also just redid the pool area so they have a slide now. I always forget they are there but you guys have me thinking I need to book a trip to the cabins soon.

The weather is fluctuating here. We had a few days of 'sunny and warm', but I drove to school in snow yesterday.

A trip to the cabins sounds wonderful. Maybe the first week of July? They're probably booked solid already for that week, though.

Those displays at Fort Wilderness are soooooo cool! I love Minnie in the tub! I wish I could stay at Disney 7 mos. of the year! :)

You'll have to check them out for yourself sometime. It was a nice day to walk around and look at all of the displays.

WOW!! Those decorations are something else!!!:faint: Minnie in the tub is so cute!! Taking a soak drinking her wine! I wonder if those are Basin bubbles? :rotfl2: I must admit all of the decorations minus the snow look a bit peculiar to me but I am a Northern girl! :goodvibes I think I could definitely manage staying there 7 months!!

Tracy

In Florida, they just have to overdecorate to get that cold winter feeling, I guess.

I always wanted to check out Ft. Wilderness after seeing that Travel Channel special!! This trip, each time our bus stopped there (when we were staying at the WL) I wanted to jump off and go check out the horses!

The stables are the cleanest I have ever seen. Immaculate.

Thanks Brook!! :goodvibes

LOVE IT!!! That is hilarious!!

I really hate that we didn't make it over there in December! :headache:

You can take your little guy to see all the cool decorations someday. Some of them play music and some light up. There are snowglobes that spray the foam stuff all over. I hated the snowglobes, but Brooklynn and Bella loved them.

Our kids will love their drawings, and I'm sure they will be much nicer. This set of letters came during all of this crazy in and out for snow days stuff, so we did good just to get anything at all. We will write to you guys again after our zoo field trip, which is April 22nd. That way they will have a lot to write and draw about.

It will be awesome to be in Disney World on your birthday! I've done it, and although I don't care a thing about birthdays for myself, it does make the day special.

Crystal Palace for your Mom - how nice! She will love her special day being with her sweet family and her favorite character. :)

School starts for us the first part of August, so August trips are out for me until I retire. Early October is really the best I will be able to do, because I have to get the kids into a routine the first part of the year. Being out for my knee surgery at the beginning of this year made it kind of rough, and I don't want to repeat that again if I don't have to. By the time we get through August and September, I can sneak out for a couple of days for a birthday trip for Jill or just wait a couple of more weeks until fall break.

So I had a dream last night...

We were on our way to Disney and where did we stop?? MeMom's house!!! AND... everyone else who participates on the thread was there too! We were all having a big a slumber party at MeMom's before heading to Disney the next morning. For some reason, Jill was out late doing some shopping, so I put her kids to bed for her. And in my dream MeMom, your house had like 40 bedrooms that were all decorated much like 50's Prime Time Cafe. :lmao:

Ryan thinks I should have my head examined after this one... I just think it was one cool dream!! :thumbsup2

Thank goodness for the links on the first page....I was waaaaaaaaaaaaay behind.

I'm caught up and will try to stay that way!

What a fun dream! I would love for everyone to come here, but be sure to bring sleeping bags and pillows, because I do not have 40 bedrooms with 40 beds!

Let me interpret.

Jill shopping: self-explanatory.

50's Primetime Cafe: everything in my house is old and we eat a lot ;)

heading to Disney: you most assuredly were stopping by to pick me up on the way to Disney ::yes::

Sounds like fun. Dream on!!!

Yeah, well, we've fallen way behind on that links idea, unless Jill has been posting some that I don't know of. Maybe I can catch it up soon. Glad you are having some DIS time, LL! :)

Shhh, don't tell me that! :rotfl2:

I just can't keep up with all of my subscriptions. DISing is like having a part time job. :lmao:

Please let me know what time on that Saturday you will be at the Disney Store, I will plan to be there whenever. We are talking about Sat. the 13, aren't we? I don't want to get the dates mixed up.

The campground certainly looked very festive.

I am insulted! I have links up to every update except for this last one you just did. Count em baby 26 trip links and a handful of regular life links! I'm not going to add the Fort Wilderness Lodge link until you tell me you went back and look at the last edit date so that you can see for yourself that I am trying to keep up with them!

Yes the thirteenth. We haven't really talked about a time for the mall. We are planning on going to the zoo that morning. Not sure how long we will be there it depends a lot on the weather. They are supposed to be doing a Princess and the Frog craft and activity time at 3:00 on that Saturday so maybe we should try and shoot for around that time and take part in that. Just a thought.

Anyone else in the Memphis area who wants to come just let us know if you have a time conflict

I knew Jill wouldn't fail me on the links! :thumbsup2

That would be alot of fun!!! - ROAD TRIP!
In all seriousness I wish I lived closer so that I can do little mini dis meets :)

Love the pics of the camp site.

WOW! I am so happy to see the Fort Wilderness campgroung pics!
I've heard about the decorating....I am definitely not dissapointed....I would love to own all of those inflateables.
Some may call it tacky, I call it festive. :rotfl:

I would love to try a camper/cabin sometime. Looks like so much fun!

I have to make this quick, I have to go back to work. This will make it 2 days of double shifts. (a couple employees have been sick this week, so as Manager I have to cover them if I can't find someone else)

SunnyStace I can cross over at 3 places nearby. Cornwall (1hr away), Prescot (45 mins.) and Thousand Islands (2 hr) .
I got the Mickey basket @ Walgreens and the clings @ Dollar Tree.

I didn't go to Syracuse, so I didn't go to the Disney Store. So you can stop pouting MeMom....

WrightFamily06 I am so jealous of your recent trip to Myrtle Beach. We love it there! I may have to go lurk on your TR and see familiar sights. :goodvibes

Have a great evening all!
:grouphug:

It does require a lot of time to keep up. I am guilty of forgetting to write on people's reports for a while, and then I feel bad.

I didn't know you had been doing those. That's a big help to people who don't want to listen to the in between pictures craziness around here.

We get to go to the Disney Store and do a craft? Yay! :yay:

ARKIE - Are you still game for that Saturday?

I knew Jill wouldn't fail me on the links! :thumbsup2

She's a good girl. :)

Love the pics of the camp site.

We'll have a mid-America meet one of these years. We've just gotta find the center point of the continguous 48 states to see where we're meeting.

At the campground, the abundance of stuff is just fun!

Work, work, work! :headache:

I stopped pouting when I realized how close our Memphis trip is. :)

Anytime that Sat. will work for me. I will be looking forward to meeting all of you.

Sounds like just before the P&F activity might be good. That will give us most of the day at the zoo.

Don't pout about me going shopping either Memom, there is no Disney store in Port Huron, MI....I would have to go up to Auburn Hills, MI! I didn't buy anything Disney!

We have our zoo trip April 24th! Let's hope for clear skies... Our whole school goes, how about you?

The thing is, I could probably have my own Disney Store experience if I puled out all my Disney stuff and put it on shelves. :upsidedow

Just second grade is going. We usually do grade level field trips. I am in charge of field trips for 2nd grade, and I chose Earth Day to go to the zoo in hopes that they might be doing some special activities. I will be quietly pretending that I am in Animal Kingdom. ;)
