Ridiculous Question - Anyone know Dimensions of an Epcot Garbage Can lid ?

I would love to see what happens if you guys try to dine on PUSH while you're there. I'm sure you'll gain lots of notoriety while you're at food and wine and that PUSH would love to dine with you guys and invite you over ;)

Isn't it all just too absurd? Only at Disney World will you find throngs of people dining atop garbage cans, having paid $100 a head for the privilege to do so. :lmao:

Great suggestions!:rotfl: Seriously, I just don't get why anyone would want to do this. She'll have to haul her tablecloth around with her, day after day...
Most of us don't plan to use a trash table for a few minutes, it just happens occasionally. The vast majority of the time we are at a high top table, a bench, or a curb.

Well, i read the OP to mean they were only using this for F&W, so that's not the same thing as dragging it around day after day.

Add us to the list of those that have Trash Can Dined at Food & Wine.... It is seriously your only option sometimes.

Lol. I am enjoying people's reaction to the idea of setting a drink on top of a garbage can while you eat nearby. I can only assume anyone who is skeeved by the idea has never gone to a major league ballpark, Octoberfest, or a really good Texas BBQ pit..

I'd add F&W to that list.

Been there, done that, will probably do it again.

It's possible they only go for an afternoon or something. I was probably viewing this from my perspective, we like to go to F&W multiple days during our vacations.

Sounds like there are many of us proud trash can diners. I don't mind admitting I'm in the club. :rotfl2:

Great idea. I'm all over this in 2 weeks. Big bonus because my daughter will be embarrassed. I have already been planning to ask about his girlfriend "Cans and bottles".

I think we need club t-shirts ;)

I think we did 2 partial days with F&W last year with hotel breaks in between it and wherever else we hopped that day... So for me (in theory) carrying extras around for a half day is NBD.... i guess i was answering from my perspective too, lol.

Last time we went with my parents, I made a roll-up placemat for my mom with pockets for silverware and a cloth napkin. We were only doing quick-service meals that trip, and she HATES paper plates and plastic silverware! It wasn't sized specifically for the trash can, but it was portable and worked great. She still has it. They sell them on Etsy for around $30.

This is a awsome idea. Ive never been to f&w, going this year for the first time. I was wondering how well its gonna go, drink in one hand and well food in other but how do i eat it. I don't remember any picnic tables? Now i know trash cans and a table cloth. Perfect. :thumbsup2
P.S. lets rename this tread "hobo ediquette"

ahem...

may I humbly suggest the "drink sling?"

I was turned on to this concept at a Formula 1 race a few years ago. Yes, you look ridiculous. But it's a talking point AND it does free up your hands (and prevent you from spilling all over yourself.)

no, it does not give you a gingham surface on which to place your plate, but it does prevent you from having to set your beverage down in order to eat with both hands.

LOL, if only they served the wine in stemware like that at F&W (but then again I wouldn't be able to drink as many if they were like that :rolleyes1)

Seriously - if anyone knows this, I'll be shocked.

Wife and I are going for Food & Wine and in years past, when it gets crowded, we've been relegated to gathering around garbage cans just looking for a place to set stuff down. This year, she has it in her head to construct and unrollable "table cloth" to flop over the garbage can lid, but needs to know the dimensions.

I figured if there was any place in the planet she could get an answer to that question, it would be here.

Don't give them any new ideas for the seating tiers at party of the senses!!
I'm just "trash" talking!

Add me into the Trash Can Top club!! :yay: I'm just jealous that I didn't think of the tablecloth idea the first time we were there for F&W. That would have been sweet! I don't find that ridiculous at all! Kudos to your wife for having such an awesome idea. :cheer2:

Another trash can top club member! When there is no where else to eat...do as the F&W folks do!

I also have no problem asking someone with a table.."Mind if we join you?"

Ok, I have been giving this some thought. I would get a large napkin and sew some washers on the corners to keep it from blowing off. I was in goodwill last week and they had some plastic plates that were new that had built-in cup holders so you could eat one handed that I should have bought because they were only $1! They would have been perfect! I am a lover of the spork, but you could also carry some silverware in a ziplock bag so you could also have silverware to use!
