Riddle me this!

Good morning OK and the Corral

Had to read six pages to get here so I have a lot to respond to.

Mickey - hope your little Kitty is OK.

Bro, how can you be too old for Romper Room, I remember it. We had Miss Nancy in Baltimore. My mother wrote a letter to try to have me be on the show. You had to be kindergarten age. Well, they called, when I was in second grade. But my brother was the right age so he got to be on. (Just another way he always got things I didn't.) I was allowed to miss school one day to go see a taping.

I fondly remember Bunny Rabbit and the ping pong balls on Captain Kangaroo. Childre's television sure has changed.

My respnse to the tragedy this weekend. It was awful and I feel for the families, but, now don't flame me for my opinion, it was an industrial accident. They knew the risks. What about the 4 people that were killed in the syringe factory in North Carolina last week. They went to work, there was an explosion, and 4 were killed. It was barely mentioned whereas this was on every channel, 24 hours the first day. What is so different about these two tragedies?

I would never go on the whole CB and make a comment like that but I know that you all know me and can take it in the way it was meant.

Thanks to some hints, I have the answer, I hope. PM sent.

(Sorry, long post.)

LOL, OK!!! That dog looks like he is really on the "GO"!!!

hmmm....a dog this morning OK?????:D

Does anyone remeber Bozo or Oopsy?

Lars, the dog is in commemoration of my looking for a clue in the bathroom and finding the dog sleeping in there! It lead to a whole lot of funny speculation about today's riddle answer! :p

Our local Bozo was great! My favorite show growing up was a local kids show named, Axel and his Dog! It was full of slapstick and double humor! I liked Sky King too!

Breezy, I think your point is well thought out. I also know that to discontinue the program because of the risks involved would be shortsighted. Any NASA astronaut knows the risks involved. No one likes to lose lives. But as long as the rewards outweigh the risks, it makes sense to continue the program.

After 9/11, we now know the risks to life and how precious it really is. I wouldn't stop doing one thing. I do nothing differently. And I won't. And to make you all dizzy, I'm one of the few that wants a WTC with twin towers back on the site. I'm a stubborn person. I loved that building. I want it back. It's hard to look at the skyline without it. Sigh....sorry....to lay this on the riddle today.

On a lighter note, I remember Bozo the Clown! No Oopsy, though!

Good morning Riddlers! Took me a while to read all the posts and catch up! I hit the snooze a few times this morning... must be a MONDAY for me.

Mickey- sure hope your kitty is okay. :(

Gina - your clue was just what I needed. I don't think I would have tumbled to this riddle answer by myself (at least not in this week!).

Not much to add to the thoughts already expressed about the Columbia tragedy. Part of me thinks that as a nation we are not as consumed with this event (as compared to the Challenger tragedy) because we are all emotionally worn out from the constant threat of war and fear of more terrorism attacks. I know I personally dread turning on the news these days - and so I did not spend the weekend watching non-stop coverage of this sad event. Because my heart is too weary of such things. It's not that I am less concerned... just overwhelmed by it all.

Glad to be home after almost a week on the road. Being here on the riddle is part of the "being at home" experience. Missed you guys. :)

Diane....don't sell your "observation skills" short! I just changed my signature quote YESTERDAY!!! As I prepare for my trip, I find myself feeling nostalgic about CoP....and HOPING that they consider President's Week a busy enough time to open it, for at least a SHORT time! I remember that attraction from the World's Fair in Queen's (probably during my Romper Room years)! One of my first and favorite memories!:D

The Johnny Quest references make me laugh. I do remember the cartoon but some thing else more recent is associated with it. A few years back, we were at dinner with a couple who are friends of ours. I don't know how the conversation got turned in this direction, but they said that when they put there 2 boys in front of the TV watching Johnny Quest, they could have a half hour of uninterupted time in the bedroom, if you know what I mean. So, whenever I hear of Johnnny Quest, now, I think of their quest.
