Catching up with everyone...
DblD - Nice to see you back home again. We always miss you when you're travelling.
TX - I hope Kasie had a great day! If you've got any space cupcakes....

Have fun at your conference!
Thelk4 - glad you had fun at PirateFest!
Boo'sMom - I'm pretty sure I recognize that parraot from the margaritaville brochure...

And how nice that you'll help me keep up my flower-buying skills!!! You are a sweetie...
Diane - I hope the water didn't cause any damage!!! There have been a lot of reports around here about leaks into homes and buildings - we're above freezing for the first time in three weeks!! I hope you had a good time at TwinsFest!
I don't remember Sonny Fox....must be before my time...

I loved Jonny Quest! I thought that was the coolest show ever! Things would get very quiet in our house whenever it came on - 4 boys in the house!

Come to think of it, where the heck were my parents????
I read somewhere that they fashioned Top Cat after Sgt. Bilko! I'm not sure I remember all of the characters, but the similarities are suppose to be numerous!
We alsways watched the Hanna-Barbera ones from then too - Magilla Gorilla, Atom Ant, Snagglepus, Quick Draw McGraw, Deputy Dawg (maybe DD wasn't HB though)
Do any of you remember Astro-Boy? It was a cartoon from Japan. Mid-60's, I think. We always watched that one too!
I'm quite sure that BERNARD was probably never called on Romper Room!!! I thik we may have been watching magic Toy Shop when Romper Room came on....I never saw it when I was a kid.
I remember Sky King!!! And the Lone Ranger, and the Cisco Kid. Remember when they'd televise the old Buck Rogers serials? man - those were great! The spaceships with the sparks flying out, obviously on strings??? LOL!
I saw a new version of Bozo (out of Chicago, I think) just recently. It is a VERY SCARY SHOW!!!! If Bozo was like that when I was young, I'm sure I would have been terrified too! I don't remember Oopsy???
Kitty!!!! Did you consider calling him Manfred???
CRB - Sounds like a nice visit. Watching a happy baby is one "chore" I could do for hours.
I met the good captain at our local zoo when it reopened after extensive remodeling. That must have been in 1988 or so. They taped a number of segments there. My son and I stood in line, in the pouring rain to meet him. I was, quite literally, overcome with emotion. I remember so much from that show. The ping pong balls certainly stand out. Bunny Rabbit and Mr. Moose. And Mr. Green Jeans seemed like such a cool guy.

Simpler times, that's for sure.
I'm glad now that we rode CoP when we could. A really classic attraction. I don't know if I'm just getting to be an old fogie (and I don't think I am because I enjoy the new attractions too) but I think that Disney should find a way to keep some of these classics going. And not isolated in a separate park, but as part of the total experience.
Baboo - mountain avalanches are so very dangerous and deadly. I know that most ski areas spend a significant amount of time and money trying to control them. Quite a few blast artillery shells of some sort into the danger areas. I suppose thought that nature will have its way. Sad about those kids though.
Gina - I know how much the towers mean to you and I can certainly see where you are coming from. I don;t think it's an attempt to get things back the way they were - that will likely never happen - but it cerainly does say a lot about dealing with the world without fear.
Sis - I see what you're saying. Space exploration is, at least for me, a wonderous thing. Something to be marvelled at. And I think the risks there are much higher than most "traditional" jobs. I say most, because I know there are some very hazerdous occupations. The space program is also run by a national institution, so the profile is very, very high. But I see what you are saying. There are probably hundreds of accidents across the country each day and in each, dozens of families are left without a loved oned. As LTM said before - it gives us all pause to consider where we are in our lives.
One thing I've alkways enjoyed about the riddle is that it seems to be a kind bunch who post here and willing to let everyone have their way and their say.
Well - this post is probably HUGE!
See what happens when work gets in the way?
ENJOY the day everyone.
