Ressie for 12/28-1/3 HELP??

Yeah, I know, it's really late to be making this. Our two best friends just confirmed that they'd be available to go. We're trying to get either two studios, a 1-BR, or a 2-BR. There's nothing available right now. What should my strategy be? Just keep calling? Does inventory change constantly or do they update the system at set times?

I assume you waitlisted for all of these options. I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings, but there are existing waitlists for your dates, so supposedly others will get preference as dates become available. I think your best hope would be to watch the rent/trade board once you are inside the 31 day mark and hope that someone posts a reservation for rent that fills your needs. Of course this will require cash. Miracles happen, and some folks on this board think that calling MS might help, but you should be prepared to make alternate plans. Good luck!

Get a back up cash reservation somewhere, even if it is off site. Be prepared to stay there if you plan to go no matter what. I agree that getting DVC accomodations at this point is a long shot. The hardest night to get anywhere on site is New Year's Eve.

Well, I called Wednesday morning and they had 5 nights in a 2-bedroom at OKW that had just opened up!!!! I couldn't believe it, and neither could the MS rep. So I'm just on the waitlist for the night of 1/2/09. I'm so happy we're going!

Thank you! I'm still calling everyday (usually 2-3 times) to check on the last night. Does anyone know how the waitlist works? Does MS check it once a day or is it real-time, like as soon as a match becomes available?

They've been making procedural changes to the waitlist, so it could change. At the moment, I do not think it grabs a reservation until the end of the day. Hopefully, there will be some computer upgrades to allow it to grab & hold them when available.
