Yesterday after my daughter was in tears for two hours following yet another crash trying to get into the Prize Machine Game room- I sent an email to the black hole. Basically I explained how frustrating it was for young children and their parents who have to explain this frustration- with the long lines and the repeated crashing (on both the time out disconnects and VMK server crashes) and nothing. I even explained that the costume contest lacked clear instructions and that some who won had little creativity- that although I had seen better than my kids in the room those didn't win... I offered the suggestion of opening more rooms or just plain avoiding these sort of events in the future.

I received a non-response letter back shortly after sending the message (probably automatic response thing) but this morning...

I got the following response back:

Hi there,

Thanks for writing to us to let us know your thoughts about our recent
Event. We're sorry that you did not enjoy it 100% and hope that you
will attend another event in the future.

And hopes that I will attend in the future...
Well I may be sucker enough to fall for yet another event but I will not expose my kids to it- not that young- So unless they can show some better commen sense when planning and carrying out these things- NO my children will not attend another event in the future. And this is after we were spared the add frustration of the maze event thanks to Hurricane Rita...

PS- sorry if this is a double post- I did this initially and it never showed up after like 10 minutes or so...

LOL, that's the exact same reply I got when I wrote about the maze event. VMK_Bear could be the VMK name for the circular "file", and not even a person

I tried to send a response but it wouldn't let me send it. It said that there was nothing in the FAQ pertaining to my response.

There is one time on the screen where the NEXT button is big and there is also a small link that says continue- if you click on the continue instead of next at that time it lets you fill in your "other" response and complete the form

My DH was wondering if these people actually go somewhere to Work for VMk or do the sit at home at their own computers. That is the only logical understanding to how badly these events are run. On the VMk tour do you get to ask any questions on how many staff run VMk, are they all located in one area. How do you qualify for a job there. Just wondering as so many of us seem to think we could run the events much better. I am pretty sure we could. So maybe we should apply especially if it is home base. Cool.

But would they allow you to name your mules vmk_ whatever? lol because then we'd have an enormous staff lol and may be just as effective... you could just have you staff mules stand in different rooms with an "if I don't answer you it is because I'm afk" in the signature- then every now and then actually talk for a few minutes- people would think staff was everywhere- and little would anyone know it is just little old moussedude operating the puppet strings...

Oh and to answer another poster- nope- no one got any happy surprises in their accounts yesterday... I certainly am not holding my breath-

Same long lines, same disconnect issues, and great prizes for those lucky enough to get in. (Obviously, enough people are happy with it that when we keep repeating our mistakes, no one seems to mind. After all, look at how many people want to join our events. There were lines of 600 people waiting to get in!) You are free to try your luck again at the next event.

P. S. (you may or may not get a consolation prize for taking the time to write a letter)"


Gosh, I guess I am still angry from the maze event! LOL I didn't attend this one and I think you are a very smart mom to not let your kids experience this cycle of dysfunction.

My feelings exactly and have not since the 2nd event let my DS attend or prticipate in VMK events.

lol...what a great post. Luckily to save myself (and my daughter) a huge amount of frustration I stayed away. Judging from how the event went I am glad I did.

I wrote a letter today and I'm going to keep on copying and pasting this letter ever 24 hours. Shawshank redemption all the way! No one asked me to speak for all the people in the disboards. The people frustrated by VMK. You say you can't really do anything but come on it's not like you are losing money by throwing something to the people that had a really bad time and wasted like two days on VMK to get nothing but frustration. Yes two days because one of your hosts did another room the next day, a room even worse because if you were lucky to get in if you didn't get any matches in numbers you didn't get anything after waiting two whole hours. I don't want a generic letter, I don't want a computer response I want a word from a real person at least to know that someone does give half a you know what around there.

Would have been slightly more impressed if the wording had varied a little more- but I suppose when you are dealing with the numbers of complaints they are having to deal with the steps of

Is about all the time that can be spared if they want to get those messages answered.

I figure what they ought to do is just create an automated response email similar to the one they sent before the next event so that I can get the false sympathy non-response letter almost instantly- they can even set the automated response to have some sort of delay so that if I squint my eyes just right, drink massive quantities of alcohol and throw out all logic I may actually believe that someone read my complaint letter.

Sigh- like I said before I did learn my lesson and kids will not be part of the next event...

true, and has anyone actually ever seen VMK_april in the game? I worked customer service (via telephone) for an airline many years back, and we used to have "Mr. Robinson", and "Mrs. Johanson". We were told anytime someone demanded a supervisor, to say we were transferring them to one of those two, and transfer them to the person in the cubicle next to us. lol.

methinks VMK_april may be a figment of vmk?
