Resort Change by Disney

I can't see them forcing someone to pay the difference because their booked resort is closed. I hope your CM was correct and mine was wrong. Now to figure out when I should call back in again...

I agree with you. I think people are unfortunately getting through to misinformed CMs. I wouldn't call back until we know the Park Pass system is up and running. They aren't doing anything with reservations until then.

Just got done. Got both days reserved. Now I will need to wait and see when to call about our hotel. I don’t think it will be open so will see what happens there. But so happy we got our park ticket reservations

The park reservation system is up. I just got mine for the week of July 13th. Unfortunately I need to add 2 more people to my room reservation. I have been calling for weeks to add them, but because our check out date was after July 11 I wasn't allowed to. I could not book park reservations for them even though they have AP's because they are not resort guests in the system. I can't even get into the phone queue. I just says "switchboard 8. all lines are busy. try again later." I really hope I don't have any trouble getting reservations for them later.

I was able to get all 5 days in parks for our trip in August! Woohoo! Waited 2 hours and 25 minutes online and was kicked off twice, but third time went through rather quickly.

Going August 21-31 and had been booked at Yacht Club. Since YC is not opened yet, I called this morning and after almost 2 hours, I am now changed to Poly. It was more expensive and I had to pay, but not that bad of a price difference.

I thought if we kept dates we didn't have to pay the difference???

I signed into My Plans in MDE browser (not app). There is a button at the top to make reservations. It takes you to a timed loading screen with Space Mountain on it. When the timer runs out (it may add more time, rewind, or stay on 0:00 for a bit), you are taken to a page to choose a party, then park, then arrival time, then accept acknowledgement for Covid Liability, and submit.

Good morning all! Hope everyone has been able to get there park reservations now that the system is up. I have a question that I was hoping some of you might have run across already. We have a split stay in July. 17-19 at AKL-Kidani with rented DVC Points (I know this reservation is good) and July 19-20 at CBR. I know CBR will be closed but we booked this through hotels.com, I have linked the reservation in MDE and it is still showing. The question is do I contact Disney directly to move to an open resort or will something have to be done with hotels.com?

Ooh interesting! You're the first person I've seen be able to modify resort reservation this morning. Did they give you any sort of discount? Or are you paying rack rate for the Poly move? (if you don't mind me asking!)

You had to pay? hmmmmmm I'm seeing some people say we have to pay and others saying we don't

I was given the same discount I had, which was originally free dining and now the 35% off. They basically gave me a list of all of the resorts that showed availability and then gave me a price. I actually asked if they would have moved me somewhere if I didn't call and she said no, they would have contacted me and told me I needed to call to modify.

As for people asking about them moving without me paying more, I just don't think that is possible. I booked YC and not Poly originally, since Poly was almost $1000 more for my 10 days and I am now paying $200 more to be there. I would imagine Disney would have been happy to move me somewhere else for cheaper, but they aren't going to let people just pick whatever they want at no charge.

EDIT : I called (407) 934-7639 at 7:00 EST on the nose.

To clarify- did you ask to move to Poly or call and use the words "request" or "modify" to another resort? Did they offer to move you anywhere without charge? It seems like people are reporting that if you ask to go to a specific resort, you have to pay the difference whereas if you just take whatever they give you, there is no charge.

Got parks reserved (woohoo!) BUT have been trying the phone numbers constantly and they all just say "all circuits are busy now, try again later," this is the last hurdle and I WILL conquer it!

That's great! I'm booked under the Sun & Fun (which I think was around 15-20% discount?) so I wasn't sure if they'd be helping me look at moves based on any sort of discounted rate or just rack rates or what. We're in a weird price range because our current cost is above most of the studio rates but below most of the nicer 1BR's we'd want if they use rack rate. Assuming the worst.. but crossing fingers they'll at least throw us some sort of bone? Guess we will see! I was on hold earlier this morning but had to hop off when I got to work. Glad to hear someone was able to get through, though!

Same here! Been trying since 6:09am and no luck. Happy to have gotten my park reservations though
