Can anyone explain the resort arcades to me? Do they work on points?

I noticed that when I got my paperwork I had free points for the arcade. I would have assumed they just take quarters, but I guess not?

Does anyone know exactly how much play you get with the free voucher?

I am trying to figure out expenses since we leave in a couple days and I am setting an entertainment budget and I have no idea what to allocate for my kids to play at the arcade.

Thanks!:)

I know that the arcade at the CBR (and I am assuming all other arcades) work on points. There is a place on each game where you swipe your arcade card (or your voucher) and it deducts the points from your card/voucher. There are vending machines that sell additional arcade cards in the arcade.

One Cast Member at the Contemporary arcade said the card doesn't work on the games which give out tickets which you can cash in for prizes, although not all the resort arcades have those types of games and prizes to be won.

I rec'd a free arcade pass with 100 points on it with our last package deal. 100 points only got me 1 free play

you go to the counter and give them your money and they'll load up the card with it. you swipe the card in the game to play. The games give you coupons to redeem in the machine. You load the coupons in the redeem machine and then swipe your card to add them. then when you're done your vacation, go to the counter to use your card to "buy" toys, candy, or my favorite, Lava Lamps with your redeemed token points. Each of the last 2 years I have had enough to "buy" a lava lamp!!!!:rotfl::surfweb:

The game card received with a package contains 100 points ... which isn't much ... and doesn't last long.

Every resort's arcade works a little different. At the Contemporary you can win 'tickets' with some of the games and then trade the tickets in for gifts.

However, the arcade at the Polynesian does not have any games which give tickets. It's all just for fun.

Both arcades work on a point system. You can purchase a game card with a certain amount of points. The more points you put on the card the less expensive each point is. For instance, if you purchase a $25 card you get bonus points.

You can purchase the game cards through a machine located in the arcade. you can use cash (bills only) or a credit card ... or even your room key. They make it very convenient to spend money there.
