I have just phoned to make my dining reservations for my upcoming trip at Xmas and wanted to book Cafe Mickey for breakfast on Xmas Day. I did this last year about 8 weeks in advance with no problems but have just been told I can only book it 2 days in advance:scared1:

Sounds like a no hoper to me!!! Has anyone else been told this or aware of changes from last year???

Wow, that's short notice.

Seems a little odd to me. Have you tried calling back and seeing if a different CM let's you book?

i would ring back as i had problems trying to book my meals also as they were asking for credit card details and telling me i had to ring when i got there so i rang back and got it all sorted. hope the same happens for you

I think you are right and I have to ring back, I really can't believe it can be right. Why would you only be able to book 2 days in advance, there are no advantages for anyone running the system that way.

I wonder if it is meant to be 2 months in advance but something got "lost in translation"?

I'm going to try again - watch this space:rolleyes1 :surfweb:

Aaahhhhh, now I understand.

I have just called back and theya re unable to make a reservation now for the 25 December, only up to 21 December so she said to call back in 4 days and I can make the booking!!!!

It must be a 60 day window for bookings I guess, phew. I was starting to panic then as it was such a good way to start Xmas day.

Thanks for your promt help everyone:flower3:

Yeah you can book up to 60 days in advance. Glad it's sorted as 2 days in advance would have been the most stupid system in the world!!

I always believed it was a 60 day window as well, but I read that is now more (can't quite remember the number of days, sorry) but I was able to book other restaurants e.g Blue Lagoon for Xmas Day and Lucky Nugget for Xmas eve. Maybe it is particular high popularity restaurants that are still 60 days and other places are 90 days??:confused3

Anyway, it goes to show it's always worth a try to find out.

Thanks for your help

OOOOoooo just to throw a spanner in the works....I managed to book lunch at Cafe Mickey for Christmas day, I phoned about 1/2 weeks ago

You can book well in advance for breakfast at Cafe Mickey if you pay in advance and add it to your existing onsite hotel booking. But I'm not sure about booking that far in advance for the breakfast there if you're not paying in advance :confused3 .

Hello Boo-Boo. Yes, I was told they could book lunch and dinner for Cafe Mickey's but not breakfast:confused3 I don't know why?

Anyway, I am going to try on 1 November so hopefully it will all turn out okay in the end!!:)

Hi....yes very strange isnt it! Not long to wait and Im sure all will be fine :thumbsup2

I phoned last week and booked Cafe Mickey for 27th December. Also Auberge de Cendrillon for Christmas Day.

I have no idea whether or not that helps! :rotfl2:

Just a update for everyone.

After 3 more phone calls, all with different answers I gave up in the end trying to go through dining reservations (todays answer was back to the 2 days in advance:sad2: :sad2: )

I have just phoned the reservations telephone number (accommodation not dining) and had the meal added to the hotel accomodation and paid up front, thanks DLPDaft for the advice.

The lady was very helpful and had no problem at all but did say that the dining team do have restrictions that they don't.
