I’m at Disney solo, so I’ve been making dining reservations on the fly. Well, major problem - just got a pop up saying currently, dining reservations cannot be made online OR over the phone. What the heck?!

You can go to guest services or the actual restaurant. If you eat at off times, you can usually walk up to all but the most busiest places. I never make ADRs ahead of time and just walk up.

What has been your success rate with walk ups? We have never been successful doing this and wonder if I am doing something wrong?

Really good. I have not been turned away at any place. I eat early so either a late lunch or a very early dinner. The longest that I have waited was about 15 minutes at Via Napoli. I have not tried to eat at places like Le Celier or any of those the book up months in advance. But there are so many good place to eat, especially at Epcot. Most of the resort restaurants you can walk up to at non peak times. Just have to be flexible.

I was really in a steak mood and decided to attempt walking up to Le Cellier despite how busy they get - sitting down to a late lunch/early dinner there right now! Thank you.

I'm guessing resrvations are working again, but i woukd expect if the system is down, diners would be accepted as walk-ins.

Glad you got in! As a 4-some we have done our share of walk ups too. Even places like the Sci Fi Dine In, that traditionally never have ADRs, we wait 20-30 minutes and we get in. We also are earlier than most people when we sit for dinner, usually between 4 and 5pm. But I know from experience that when I couldn't get an ADR before arriving at WDW, we go try it anyway as walk-up.

Sci-fi is relatively easy to get a walk up for. All people with an ADR are guaranteed a car. They do not give out ADR’s for the picnic tables, so as long as someone with an ADR doesn’t request one they remain available for walk ups.

Well all I know was for 6 months I tried and couldn't get a reservation. I gave up trying for our last trip. This wasn't the first time either for us. So we did like we have learned to do in the past and walked ourselves over and got a car no less! My kids love the Sci Fi. They eat everything without being picky.
