Request housekeeping change from daily?

Hi,

We've usually rented DVC points but this trip we are paying cash at Saratoga Springs. I prefer the housekeeping schedule with DVC rather than daily maid visits. If you've had a cash ressie before, has anyone requested "DVC style" cleaning rather than daily cleaning? I would imagine they would be happy to accommodate that but thought I'd ask.

Thanks!

Yep - Do not disturb on the door. When you want them to clean then take it off that day.

The only problem with just leaving the Do Not Disturb sign on the door for a regular stay is that housekeeper is basically not done with her work day. Call housekeeping, ask to speak to the on duty supervisor and set up what you want.

Thanks that's helpful. I shouldn't mention it to the front desk when checking in then but call directly to housekeeping. Better to go to the source...

We really don't even like housekeeping coming in on Trash and Towel day. A full cleaning at 8 days is fine. We forgot this last trip and housekeeping brought in new towels and emptied some trash. Luckily we had all valuables in the lock box. I hate thinking the worse about people, but it is the world we live in.

We always lock our valuables in the safe but if money or jewelry was just lying around I could see why someone might be tempted to take it but I would think that the cleaning staff would be the least likely to steal because they would be the most likely suspects if someone was robbed. Most people wouldn't risk a good paying job with benefits just to get some jewelry or money.

A few years ago a Disney housekeeper was charged with doing just that.
