Seems to me that he is just offering ease to a DVC member and a measure of safety to a possible renter.

Is that illegal.....DVC illegal?

No.

He is providing a potential renter to a DVC member - who then calls MS and makes a reservation just like any and every DVC member. There is nothing "illegal" about any member, in good standing, making a reservation and if it is somehow deemed "illegal" we may all be in trouble and unable to use our memberships. MS has no way of knowing DVCrequest is even involved in these transactions - just as they have no way to know if the DIS DVC Rent/Trade Board was involved in getting a member and renter together. In fact, DVC Guides and MS reps even refer members to his website when members inquire about assistance renting excess points.

The way DVCrequest previously handled these rentals was changed in response to the recent DVC policy restricting associate members. At this time all he does is to act as an intermediary assisting members and renters alike - much like our own DVC Rent/Trade Board. In this case, he is remunerated for his services and offers some level of protection and security for both parties.

DVCrequest.com is now a DIS advertiser. While DVC has issued a policy change that could affect some rentals, DVCrequest is still in business and seems to have a lot of very satisfied guests (and DVC Members) who have used the service.

A banner ad for the company may be found at the top of the DVC Rent/Trade Board.

I am not sure what his being a DIS advertiser has to do with anything...
