Relaxation, Disney Style, PTR. ~*TRIP REPORT HAS STARTED! 9/18 Pg. 155*~

Is it super scary, Jackie? BTMRR I can handle. Compare and contrast if you will. :rotfl2:

Are you scared of heights at all? To me, the worst thing about Everest is when the train first heads up the mountain and it stops at the top where the train tracks have been torn up by the Yeti. There is a great aerial view of the park, and you can even see all the way to DHS, but I hate heights, so I felt sick just knowing how high up it was.

Other than that, I think it is a much smoother ride than BTMRR which unfortunately, I have ridden a lot in my life. The going backwards part is super quick, and I like Everest for the fact that it does stop a couple of times -- once when the tracks switch after going backwards and one other time where the Yeti shadow is (although now that I am thinking about it, that may have been the same moment ). Anyway, it really is over before you know it. If you wanted to do it, I would request a seat in the middle of the train -- I like the feeling of being buffered like that. LOL!

Brooklynn says Tower of Tara is not scary. She likes the drops but not the ghosts. This is a four year old's opinion. Give it a try!

Online check in day!! YAY!
See, the backward part is what freaks me out too! Blake loves EE, and tells me I'd be fine, but I've even youtubed it and counted the seconds that you're backwards for, and I don't know...I over-analyze things too much!:rotfl2:

If I could get one food item shipped to me...now that's hard...tiramisu from Tutto? Burger from Cosmic Rays...I'd have a lot of shipping taking place!;)

I hadn't thought about you-tubing Everest to see if I could handle it. Good idea, Jess! I am afraid I still may be a chicken so I am depending on you, LL, to tell me what you think. :)

So you did online check-in? I'm not sure why I'm so afraid of this feature since everyone seems to have good results but I am. Were you able to make your Mansions request and anything else you wanted online?

ETA: Oh boy. I just watched two videos. I'm not sure ....... :scared1:

I'm a little scared of heights but that is not what gets me, its the free falling feeling.

Smoother than BTMRR is a godo thing. I just don't know. I think I'm going to YouTube it.

Brooklynn is a much much braver girl than I am. :rotfl2:

Hmmm...I'm going to YouTube it today too. See what I think. I don't know if I'm brave enough.

I did do online check in. I asked multiple CMs when I called and they said that it doesn't matter if you do online check in or regular check in when you do a room request, they will try to honor it either way. There isn't a spot to put anything else in but a CM did tell me not to request anything else once it has already been on your reservation because then it will override what is on there.

Woooooooooooo Hooooooooooooooooooooo!

Only 10 more days until Disney!! :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

I did Online Check In this morning, it's so easy. I'm in love with the fact that our packet and such will be ready to go when we arrive. Fingers crossed for a Mansion room. :worship:

I went for a walk this morning and wore my Teva Mush flip flops. They felt really good. I was a bit worried when I was out running errands yesterday because the strap was bothering the top of my foot. None of that today so it must have just been a fluke.

The last week or so I have been having dreams about flat tires on the way to the airport. In 2008, on my last day of work before my Wedding, I got a flat tire. Then a few months later a few days before we left for Disney...another flat tire. So I have been having these dreams about getting flat tires on the way to the airport. I told Marc that I thought we should book the hotel with the parking for the night before that way if we get a flat tire we have a night to deal with it. I'm terrified about being late for the flight. He says go for it since I found a deal and it's only about $30 more than what we would have paid to just park for the week with no hotel stay. I booked it on Friday. Yesterday, I'm sitting on the computer chatting with Jen and I hear a HUGE loud bang. I look outside the window and someone got a flat tire right in my driveway. I am so glad that I booked that hotel room. :rotfl:

In Two Weeks...

We only have one concrete plan for this day. I don't know what we will be doing park wise.

But at 7PM we have a DIS meet planned with Mary Ellen (MEK) to meet at the Contemporary for a viewing of Wishes from the Top of the World Lounge. Marc & I super excited about this meet. It is going to be a lot of fun.

As for the question of the day...what is your favorite fireworks viewing spot? It can be for any of the fireworks, Hallowishes, Wishes, Illuminations, even previous fireworks that are no longer.

My answer is the Rose & Crown patio for Illuminations. :thumbsup2

I am all for eliminating whatever travel stress you can so sounds like the hotel reservation the night before your flight is a good call! And certainly sounds like the universe is sending you a message on flat tires! :scared1:

10 days!! :woohoo::dance3::woohoo:

Your meet with MEK sounds awesome. I am sure you will love her and the BLT. Can't wait to hear all about it!!

As for fireworks viewing... I don't know. Illuminations is my favorite and I've liked it from any vantage point. But have to agree the R&C patio is pretty nice!! :thumbsup2

Tomorrow is your last work Monday before vacation!!! :yay:

So glad online check-in went smooth? Did you send a fax with a room request or did you just have them note it on your reservation?

I think Wishes from my room at the WL was wonderful. Although it was a little obstructed. But not too bad.

I like to sit smack dab in front of the castle for wishes.
:rotfl: Sounds like you did the right thing with reserving a room at the airport.

Aww, LL, I don't blame you ONE bit for booking a room the night before your flight! I would do the same thing. I can't believe that about your neighbors car and the flats!!:scared1: And yay for getting away one night more by doing so and starting vacation early!!:wizard:

You're getting SO close! So you recommend online check in? I'm nervous doing it when I need two rooms next to each other and that sort, with us not doing it in person, you know? Something to think about for sure, though!

We had two amazing fireworks experiences. Nightastic from the GF marina, it really did light up the ENTIRE sky and then Illuminations from our Illuminations cruise. I'm not sure anything will ever beat that.

This will come up in my TR but I'll mention it here on the online versus not. Now it's hard to say as it simply could be the resort but...I did one online check in and one not and in both cases was at the resort about 8am picking my stuff up.

Speed. My non-online check in was actually faster. No idea why other than the CM at the YC seemed to have a much better clue about what he was doing.

Room request. In both cases my room requests were honored. In my online one we were actually upgraded. My TA tried to take credit for it but the desk told me it was only b/c we were a guaranteed connecting and there weren't any in our room class, hence the bump. I did not know at check in though that this was the case, we had no idea what we'd get until that room was ready.

Room readiness. Online check in. Not ready until 2:30 pm (checked in at 8am). Non-online? Ready at check in. Which really really made my day.

For me, next time it would really depend on how important those requests were to me and the time of arrival. If I was arriving later in the day I'd go for the online check in as I think the chances of getting the request would be better but if it was an early arrival, I'd probably stick with non-online as in reality, if you want a change made or to know before you trek to the room, they are the only ones that can tell you what's what.

Yay for only being ten days away! Tomorrow will be single digits! :woohoo:

It sounds like we have the same luck with flat tires - I get them all the time! And it's always a nail. I have no idea where I pick them up! :sad2:

WOOHOO!! 10 days and online check in done!:cheer2:
I think it's wise to get the hotel for the night before, especially if you have an early flight. There are just so many things that could delay you - why risk it?
I tried to get DH to do that on the way back from FL this summer since we had a 7:55 flight and we were out at the beach, not WDW. No go. It's no fun to get up at 4 a.m. when you are just going home!

Fireworks - I've never really had super good spots, partly because I hate to have to sit for an hour waiting just to get a good spot. We have enjoyed Illuminations from Mexico -right next to the Cantina (obviously not this time!). I'd love to be seated at a restaurant to watch!

Woohoo for 10 days. It will go by really quick and an extra WOOHOO for only 4 work days until vacation. I think I am going to have write down all your questions so that when I come back I can answer them all. I can't wait to see what my answers will be.

The free fall feeling on EE isn't very long, the hill is pretty short, other times you feel plastered into your seat due to the forces. So maybe in all EE might be better for you...Dinosaur is very jerky/bumpy. I agree with CP to get a seat in the middle. :thumbsup2

Regardless, if you don't want to do either I'm sure Marc will understand! I hope you don't feel guilty about it.

TEN DAYS!!! :yay: Can you believe it? Have you started packing yet? I love your no plans day, just meeting MEK and enjoying some fireworks. :cloud9:

Good move on the hotel room, anything to make you feel more comfortable and less stressed is worth $30!

Fireworks question...I really enjoy being directly in the hub for Wishes. I also really enjoyed the NYE fireworks from the Poly beach! We could see them going off all over the World, it was incredible!

WOOT WOOT!! So excited for you!!

WOW watching Wishes from the Top of World Lounge sounds so AWESOME!!! Going to be amazing!!!

Hmmm...favorite spot I think is in the hub watching Spectro and Wishes by the popcorn stand!!!

The tire thing is just freaky and weird! I'm glad you got the hotel room so it will put your mind at ease!!

I am not good at staking out a place for parades/fireworks.....so I usually end up wherever I am ;) although I WILL make a point to see Hallowishes from somewhere in the hub or at least close to it....I missed a lot last year because of bad timing! :sad2:
:thumbsup2 for online check in....I am such a chicken and like to do things the old fashioned way :rotfl2:

Tracy

:cool1::banana: Woo hoo for 10 days!!!! And 4 more days of work!!! You must be so excited!

Holy moly with the flat tires! I'm glad you booked the airport hotel too! :scared1: I would hate to imagine getting a flat on the way to the airport!

Favorite fireworks viewing is a tie! :lmao: You know I'm completely indecisive, right?!

Illuminations from behind either one of the shops at the entrance to WS. We were lucky enough in 08 to do the Grand Gatherings Illuminations Dinner and Dessert Reception and our fireworks viewing was from behind the shop on the left! Some of the fireworks shot off from literally right in front of us! In January 09 we got a spot behind the shop on the right! It was the same thing and so beautiful!

Tied with Wishes from Bay Lake! We did the Grand Gatherings Wishes Cruise, which is now the pirate cruise, It was so beautiful and I really can't wait to see it from the Grand One!

It's your last Monday, LL, and Single Digit Dancing Day!!!

I think you were wise to book a room for the night before. Now, you will be able to sleep better!

Oh, you are going to have so much fun watching fireworks from the Top of the World!!!

Favorite fireworks viewing spot? It would have to be right in front of the castle! :thumbsup2

WOOT WOOT guess what I'm doing for you today....

:banana::yay::cool1::dance3::cheer2::yay::cool1:

SINGLE DIGIT DANCING!!!!
