Relaxation, Disney Style, PTR. ~*TRIP REPORT HAS STARTED! 9/18 Pg. 155*~

Wow single digits already! You're trip is almost here.

My favorite viewing spot so far has been sitting in front of the castle seeing Wishes.:cloud9:

Your going to have a blast watching the fireworks from the Top of the World. How exciting!

My favorite place to watch fireworks is at the MK. There is a little path just off the hub leading towards Tomorrowland. I always watch from there. It's less crowded than in front of the castle and you have a railing to lean on.

I am all for eliminating whatever travel stress you can so sounds like the hotel reservation the night before your flight is a good call! And certainly sounds like the universe is sending you a message on flat tires! :scared1:

10 days!! :woohoo::dance3::woohoo:

Your meet with MEK sounds awesome. I am sure you will love her and the BLT. Can't wait to hear all about it!!

As for fireworks viewing... I don't know. Illuminations is my favorite and I've liked it from any vantage point. But have to agree the R&C patio is pretty nice!! :thumbsup2

Tomorrow is your last work Monday before vacation!!! :yay:
Seriously! The Universe has spoken. I think we are going to go to Manchester early on Tuesday and spend the day up there. Go out to dinner, just have some fun. It will be a nice start to our vacation.

I'm really excited about the meet with MEK, it's going to be so much fun! :banana:

So glad online check-in went smooth? Did you send a fax with a room request or did you just have them note it on your reservation?

I think Wishes from my room at the WL was wonderful. Although it was a little obstructed. But not too bad.
I did not send in a fax request. I just had them note it on the reservation. This is my first time requesting anything specific. The CM on the phone said to just note it on the reservation and everytime I have called, it has been noted.

I like to sit smack dab in front of the castle for wishes.
:rotfl: Sounds like you did the right thing with reserving a room at the airport.
I'm very happy with the room at the airport. Stress free vacationing is the way for me. :laughing:

Aww, LL, I don't blame you ONE bit for booking a room the night before your flight! I would do the same thing. I can't believe that about your neighbors car and the flats!!:scared1: And yay for getting away one night more by doing so and starting vacation early!!:wizard:

You're getting SO close! So you recommend online check in? I'm nervous doing it when I need two rooms next to each other and that sort, with us not doing it in person, you know? Something to think about for sure, though!
I'm very excited about starting vacation early. :banana:

I do recommend online check in. If you do it though, not sure if you have to request cribs or whatever, but they said as long as it's noted on your reservation than don't check anything for requests on online check in because it's already noted. If you do then the online requests will override the noted ones.

We had two amazing fireworks experiences. Nightastic from the GF marina, it really did light up the ENTIRE sky and then Illuminations from our Illuminations cruise. I'm not sure anything will ever beat that.

This will come up in my TR but I'll mention it here on the online versus not. Now it's hard to say as it simply could be the resort but...I did one online check in and one not and in both cases was at the resort about 8am picking my stuff up.

Speed. My non-online check in was actually faster. No idea why other than the CM at the YC seemed to have a much better clue about what he was doing.

Room request. In both cases my room requests were honored. In my online one we were actually upgraded. My TA tried to take credit for it but the desk told me it was only b/c we were a guaranteed connecting and there weren't any in our room class, hence the bump. I did not know at check in though that this was the case, we had no idea what we'd get until that room was ready.

Room readiness. Online check in. Not ready until 2:30 pm (checked in at 8am). Non-online? Ready at check in. Which really really made my day.

For me, next time it would really depend on how important those requests were to me and the time of arrival. If I was arriving later in the day I'd go for the online check in as I think the chances of getting the request would be better but if it was an early arrival, I'd probably stick with non-online as in reality, if you want a change made or to know before you trek to the room, they are the only ones that can tell you what's what.
Good thoughts on both check in processes! :thumbsup2

Yay for only being ten days away! Tomorrow will be single digits! :woohoo:

It sounds like we have the same luck with flat tires - I get them all the time! And it's always a nail. I have no idea where I pick them up! :sad2:
Single digits! Yayayaya!

My commute to school has a lot of road construction and they haven't finished paving so I'm worried about heating one of those sewer caps sticking way up. They are vicious!

WOOHOO!! 10 days and online check in done!:cheer2:
I think it's wise to get the hotel for the night before, especially if you have an early flight. There are just so many things that could delay you - why risk it?
I tried to get DH to do that on the way back from FL this summer since we had a 7:55 flight and we were out at the beach, not WDW. No go. It's no fun to get up at 4 a.m. when you are just going home!

Fireworks - I've never really had super good spots, partly because I hate to have to sit for an hour waiting just to get a good spot. We have enjoyed Illuminations from Mexico -right next to the Cantina (obviously not this time!). I'd love to be seated at a restaurant to watch!
I haven't had any good spots either because I'm like you, I don't like to sit and wait. :lmao:

Woohoo for 10 days. It will go by really quick and an extra WOOHOO for only 4 work days until vacation. I think I am going to have write down all your questions so that when I come back I can answer them all. I can't wait to see what my answers will be.
WOO HOO! I'm so excited. Yes, you should keep track of them so you can answer them during your TR! :banana:

The free fall feeling on EE isn't very long, the hill is pretty short, other times you feel plastered into your seat due to the forces. So maybe in all EE might be better for you...Dinosaur is very jerky/bumpy. I agree with CP to get a seat in the middle. :thumbsup2

Regardless, if you don't want to do either I'm sure Marc will understand! I hope you don't feel guilty about it. :hug:

TEN DAYS!!! :yay: Can you believe it? Have you started packing yet? I love your no plans day, just meeting MEK and enjoying some fireworks. :cloud9:

Good move on the hotel room, anything to make you feel more comfortable and less stressed is worth $30!

Fireworks question...I really enjoy being directly in the hub for Wishes. I also really enjoyed the NYE fireworks from the Poly beach! We could see them going off all over the World, it was incredible!
Marc will understand, I just feel so guilty. I don't know why.

I have started packing, last weekend. I took a break this weekend. Most everything is packed except our clothes.

WOOT WOOT!! So excited for you!!

WOW watching Wishes from the Top of World Lounge sounds so AWESOME!!! Going to be amazing!!!

Hmmm...favorite spot I think is in the hub watching Spectro and Wishes by the popcorn stand!!!

The tire thing is just freaky and weird! I'm glad you got the hotel room so it will put your mind at ease!!
We had a really great place for Spectro though in Liberty Square right up against the rope, very good one!

I am not good at staking out a place for parades/fireworks.....so I usually end up wherever I am ;) although I WILL make a point to see Hallowishes from somewhere in the hub or at least close to it....I missed a lot last year because of bad timing! :sad2:
:thumbsup2 for online check in....I am such a chicken and like to do things the old fashioned way :rotfl2:

Tracy
We had a great spot for Hallowishes in '08. We were on one of the benches on the way to Adventureland. It wasn't that crowded and we got to sit which is a huge plus in my eyes.

:cool1::banana: Woo hoo for 10 days!!!! And 4 more days of work!!! You must be so excited!

Holy moly with the flat tires! I'm glad you booked the airport hotel too! :scared1: I would hate to imagine getting a flat on the way to the airport!

Favorite fireworks viewing is a tie! :lmao: You know I'm completely indecisive, right?!

Illuminations from behind either one of the shops at the entrance to WS. We were lucky enough in 08 to do the Grand Gatherings Illuminations Dinner and Dessert Reception and our fireworks viewing was from behind the shop on the left! Some of the fireworks shot off from literally right in front of us! In January 09 we got a spot behind the shop on the right! It was the same thing and so beautiful!

Tied with Wishes from Bay Lake! We did the Grand Gatherings Wishes Cruise, which is now the pirate cruise, It was so beautiful and I really can't wait to see it from the Grand One!
You are allowed to have two answers, I've come to realize us DISers can't pick between favorites. :rotfl2:

It's your last Monday, LL, and Single Digit Dancing Day!!! :banana:

I think you were wise to book a room for the night before. Now, you will be able to sleep better! :hug:

Oh, you are going to have so much fun watching fireworks from the Top of the World!!!

Favorite fireworks viewing spot? It would have to be right in front of the castle! :thumbsup2
LAST MONDAY! I woke up with a bounce in my step due to that little fun fact!!

WOOT WOOT guess what I'm doing for you today....

:banana::yay::cool1::dance3::cheer2::yay::cool1:

SINGLE DIGIT DANCING!!!!

:cool1::banana::yay::dance3::cheer2::woohoo: :banana: :cool1:
WOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

:banana::banana::banana::banana: Wooo Hoooo! :banana::banana::banana::banana:
Yayayayaya!

I still like I have forever to wait but it's getting here slowly!

Leaning on things is always good after a long day of park touring!

Single digits AND your last Monday?!!?! How excited are you??!

:banana::yay::banana::yay::banana:
Super duper excited!! If only work wasn't so busy so I could post my single digit dancing update. :laughing:

Happy Monday! You know why it's happy? Because it's the last one before your trip!!!!!!! :banana: I hope those shoes don't bother your feet anymore. Just be sure to stock up on your blister bandages.

My fav spot to watch Wishes is right in the hub by the statue of Walt & Mickey. Bubba and I watched the MVMCP fireworks there and it was beautiful. For Illuminations, I like to be near Germany or Canada. They both give clear views and I love listening to the atmosphere music played in Canada while waiting for the show to start.

Oh yes, I have plenty of blister products coming with me. I will be prepared!

Someday I will watch the fireworks in the hub, when I'm brave to deal with the crowds. :lmao:

9 Days!!

It's time to single digit dance!!

mickeyMinniedancing.gif

I only have one dancing picture today because Photobucket is not cooperating with me or my computer. Feel free to add in your own dancing pictures to make this a REAL single digit dancing celebration. :laughing:

Today is also my last Monday at work. :cloud9: Thank goodness. I still have next Monday but that is not a work day so it doesn't count. ;)

In Two Weeks...

We have some plans but nothing concrete.

Plan A: Rope Drop at Magic Kingdom. Lunch @ Kona Cafe. Back to MK for Main St. Electrical Parade if we haven't seen it already.

Plan B: Rope Drop at Epcot (or close to it). Lunch @ Kona Cafe. Probably to MK for MSEP but maybe a nice relaxing night at Riverside.

Plan C: Who knows! :rotfl:

There are PM EMH's at Hollywood Studios this night and Marc really wants to go to them. He doesn't make many requests as far as trip plans go so maybe we'll do that. He says he had a great time at the EMH's we went too in '08 so he wants to repeat that.

The closer the trip gets, the more I want to throw my itinerary away. I'm sick of thinking about our plans. I just want to get there and see what happens!

I have made a list about things that I want to try to do this trip that I don't normally. If I don't get to them, I won't be upset. There is always next time.

Miscellaneous Things List
Key Lime Tart @ Sunshine Seasons
Boat ride across WS Lagoon
Fantasyland Shops
Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse
Crab Nachos @ Mexico Pavilion
Starring Rolls Bakery
Boat to Boardwalk on DHS day
Silhouette Pictures
Figaro Fries

The one thing that I really really want to do are the Silhouette Pictures on Main Street. I love the way they look and think it would be a cute souvenir and a tradition we could continue when we have kids.

Am I forgetting anything on my list that I have mentioned before?

As for the question of the day...What is something that you want to try/do/explore/buy/etc. at Disney that you haven't gotten to yet?

I think my biggest thing that I've had on my list for the last 2 trips is Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse. I will make it up there this trip!

I read your response quickly and I thought when you said you had a good spot near the benches for Hallowishes I thought it said branches :rotfl2:

Single Digit

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: That is too funny.

I love love love that smilie combination!!

:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1: for single digits!!

The one thing I never got to do, but actually want to do (so it's on top of my never done list!) are the films in the World Showcase. I really want to see Oh Canada. The only one I have ever seen is the Norwegian one and I will definitely not repeat that!! :scared1:

Single digit dance!!! :cool1::cool1::yay::banana::banana::banana::banana::cool1:

I've never seen Wishes. It is a total must do for this trip!

I love the "go with flow" "all about Marc and I" attitude of this trip! You guys are going to have a blast!

:cool1: How exciting? 9 Days! Woo Hoo!

The one thing I'd like to try/do at Disney would have to be the parasailing. One of these days I'd like to give that a try.

Hmmmmm :scratchin
I have always wanted to try California Grill....and I am in October :goodvibes

Someday I want to rent a car....does that count?! :laughing: I am just never feeling the driving :rotfl: Although the reasons for that has something to do with seeing :blush: "The Dark Side."

Tracy

First of all, yay for single digits!

party:party:party:party:party:

I say throw out the itinerary! Fly by the seat of your pants! WOO HOO!!!!! pirate:

And it's funny that you ask that question, because I just booked my ADRs today for my February trip, and we're trying some new (to us) restaurants. Probably my most anticipated, however, that I have always wanted to try is Akershus. We've booked a breakfast, and I'm super excited about meeting the princesses, and hopefully getting a picture with Belle in her gold dress!

And my three men. :lmao: But hey, I figure as the lone lady of the household, I must have at least one girlie thing on this trip! :goodvibes

But this is a perfect dancing picture. You and Mark will look just like this! And how much to you want to put a pluto on your poodle skirt now?

But you'll be grateful you did all of this leg work in advance. That is what will allow you to just relax. You are a pro at this point so you know what to expect and how to roll with the punches.
I have made a list about things that I want to try to do this trip that I don't normally. If I don't get to them, I won't be upset. There is always next time.

Miscellaneous Things List
Key Lime Tart @ Sunshine Seasons Me too!
Boat ride across WS Lagoon
Fantasyland Shops Don't forget to ask if you can call Tink.
Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse I loved this as a kid. It is great when it isn't crowded.
Crab Nachos @ Mexico Pavilion Yum, that sounds really good.
Starring Rolls Bakery We went around 4pm and they were out of a lot
Boat to Boardwalk on DHS day
Silhouette Pictures
Figaro Fries Why did I think these were gone?

The one thing that I really really want to do are the Silhouette Pictures on Main Street. I love the way they look and think it would be a cute souvenir and a tradition we could continue when we have kids.

Fantasmic, any signature dining experience, typhoon lagoon
I will likely not get to any of these this trip. :-(
so I will add pick a pearl, ohana, anything in or at Grand Floridian and pick a pearl.
I think I may have Tom take Abby Rose to Fantasmic on our DHS day. I'll stay in the hotel with the boys. She would love it but they would be awful. I got to do CRT with her last trip as a special thing. So it is his turn.

Wooooooo-hoooooooooo for Single Digits!!!

---boo! I found a cute picture of Goofy dancing but it gets blocked by the DIS! I'll try to find a new one--

Here is one - not quite as cute, but still fun and dancing!

:yay:

I am really loving your go with the flow plans for this trip! Go pirate!!

As for something I've always wanted to do but haven't...eat a Mickey Waffle! :laughing: I WILL get that done this trip!
