Regis Philbin has passed

I was just coming on to this, but you beat me to it. I loved him on Regis and Kathy Lee and Who Wants to be a Millionaire. I haven't read the article yet, but I'm glad he lived a long life.

Awwww...REEGE, you will be missed.
You were my favorite host ever.

The first time I'd ever heard his name mentioned was in an episode of CHiPs where Ed McMahon was pulled over. His name was mentioned as the kind of emcee they were looking for. I think he was a local talk show host in the LA area back then.

RIP, Reege. I loved all the bits he did with David Letterman.

One time Letterman had Penn & Teller do a special card trick with a stack of metal plates and two forklifts. He wasn't there, but they asked Letterman to mark the "card" with his name but he sprayed "REGIS".

Oh I loved him. Didn't realize he was ill. He was great hosting the Disney Christmas parade with Joan Lunden.

I believe it was December, 2001 that Disney offered a room package along with tickets to see Live With Regis and Kelly and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire at MGM Studios. We went and had a great time. The WWTBAM show was taped at the theatre at The Studios and featured Olympic stars as contestants. The Live With Regis and Kelly show was outdoors on NY Street. I remember Julie Andrews was one of the guest. One day our group had lunch with Kelly at the GF. What a great looking and pleasant person she was. She was fairly new to the show. Regis seemed like a good person.

RIP Reege. Man, he could tell a story. I remember watching him with Kathie Lee and later with Kelly and he could really spin a tale! He was so engaging and funny and sarcastic all at once and it was magic. He will be missed.

We saw him in person at one of the Christmas parade taping. He was having such a good time with all the people watching the parade. He was stationed midway down Main Street, so he was right in the midst of things. Condolences to his family.

I’m so very sad I always liked him I found him very entertaining
My deepest sympathy to his family
RIP you will be missed 💔❤️

So so sad. He was someone I just put into the category of "always be there". Gosh I still remember watching the first episode of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire :( I also actually had the PC game version of it (with the disc).

I just heard this sad news. I loved watching him, he will be missed. RIP Regis from all of your fans
