Regarding the new Mono rail hours.

As the mono stops running late we decided to take a cab back to our resort.
Our question is do we call a cab ahead and tell him to meet us outside the park at XXX hours or are there taxi's waiting outside the parks?

If we should call ahead which companies are there to call?
 
Should be cabs at the parks. But, why not just take the buses that are provided?

For Magic Kingdom, cabs wait at at the TTC. You could walk to the Contemporary and get a cab. There are cabs waiting in the bus area at Epcot.

Mostly because I have trouble with my health. I sometimes just don't have the strength to stand and wait so taking a cab would be the most practical solution for us.

So if the rail doesn't ride and we have to rely on buses waiting could be a nightmare for all of us.

That makes sense.
 
The "official" Checker Cabs do stop coming in to Epcot at some point. I don't know whether that's at a specific time past closing, or just when business tapers off.

If you're there that late, you'll have to call for a cab, or take a chance on one of the unauthorized independents that hang around (not recommended.)

The number to call is 407-422-2222. I've heard it can take 15-30 minutes for one to show up after calling.
