Refillable mug--really want to know

with all due respect to the mom's panel:
I know I am beating a dead horse here, cause no one ever responds tothis situation (eventhough many people do split stays):
the SPIRIT of the law (as opposed to the LETTER of the law) is that the mug is purchased for your current WDW stay . (I am not speaking of the "forever mugs", here)

If you have decided, rahter than spend less at a value the whole time, but stay a few nights at a value, then give Disney more money by staying a few nights at a moderate or deluxe resort (or both), OF COURSE Disney lets you use the same mugs for you ENTIRE stay on our current vacation!
no one has yet to explain to me how that is "stealing." you can have your luggage transferred by Disney, you can use the park tickets purchased with the "package" at the first resort at the 2nd and 3rd resorts (up to 14 days; the expiration). you can s t r e t c h out the dining plan (it doesn't expire until midnight the day of checkoutwe had the DDP at out first resort(POFQ).WL was our 2nd resort, so we used 1 TS credit each to eat at Whispering Canyon our first night there... but... you can't use the mugs you purchased at FQ?. if you stay at 3 dif resorts ON THE SAME TRIP, you "should" purchase 3 mugs per person? on the SAME trip? nonsense

Simply put....that's the rule. I agree in the instance of split stays that stinks and had never even given that a thought. As "mom's panel" puts it. "Let your conscience be your guide". Your not going to get any flack from me. I understand that with some of the dining plans a mug is included. If that's the case I'd ask for new ones (what can it hurt), but otherwise technically it's a separate purchase from your package.

I agree with you. I think that if you are splitting your stay between 4 resorts you should get to use your mug at all 4 resorts and not have to buy one at each resort. Looking at my mugs from last year they do not specify a certain resort and it is my understanding that all the resorts now have the same mugs because it was more cost effective that way. Now my forever ones do... They say All Star Music Resort right on them. The exact wording on the mug is: "Refills available at no additional charge at Resort Beverage Islands located in the resort that this mug was purchased through the end of your resort stay." What you do is of your own accord opcorn::, but I will tell you that the mugs are a touchy subject on here as I am sure you've noticed. You you have to live with yourself if you do not abide by the rules.

I mean the ones we bought last year, not the forever ones obviously. They wouldn't be forever ones if they stated that now would they?

I live with myself just fine. many CMs have told me that is ONE of the reasons they switched to the generic mugs ie, the prevelance of split stays. I Do abide by the rules and there is nothing wrong with purchasing a refillable mug for my disney vacation, and refilling it during my disney Vacation. jsut wanted newbies to understand that this is OK!!!

simply put, that is NOT the rule. every Cm I have asked says so. it's jsut that disney did not think to add a "wordy caveat" to the "rule list", but it is TOTALLY understood that using a mug for your entire disney vacation, on property, is totally legal, moral, and ethical. (and I have NO idea why I am getting worked up about this. no one would know the difference anyway. unless we happened to have a very weird coincidence where our split stay "happened" to land during the week they switched the mug design; but, actually, even then it wouldn't matter if we switched resorts or not. would they make people buy new mugs during the middle of their stay if they stayed at the same resort and the design switched? )'
we are staying at 2 resorts coming up, and will only be using one mug each for the entire trip. and I will sleep like a baby.

As I said you certainly aren't going to get any flack from me and as jensmom80 said if the mugs are standard across the resorts it's a non-issue anymore. If I were spitting stays and the issue were in front of me, personally I'd use the same dang mug .
