Refill Mugs - Are 2008 still good??

Thanks minnie61650. It can be hard to read tone on a post. I accept the appology. :goodvibes

Thanks for the well wishes, tomorrow is Disney Eve for us :thumbsup2 Have fun on your next visit too!

Thank you for your kind words.

Congrats. I am wishing you a wonderful and magical Disney Eve tomorrow!:wizard:

somebody thinks you can't copy photopass pictures - the label on my CD says they're copyright free, by the way

Come on... You wrote that "somebody thinks you can't copy photopass pictures..." I was merely making the point that I don't just "think" that it is their policy. It is their policy.

Picky, picky. I wasn't trying to start an argument. :flower3:

And I still want to be able to refill my mug at other resorts. :woohoo:

Well you kindda called me out. I would have looked a bit foolish if I didn't respond. I don't like to argue either. :flower3: You should refill your mugs at other resorts, bring it to Epcot and fill up with country Coke's (just stay away from Italy) and visit the Poly to make a refillable mug Dole Whip. I have found so many creative ways to use my mug on this thread. We have even considered a refillable mug swap. :rotfl2:

Sounds great! But I don't want those big ones from the water parks - they won't fit in my cupholders!

Every time we went to BB last week, they did the hard sell on me, trying to get me to buy one of those mugs for each member of my family -- almost like they were on commission. Even when I was walking in carrying my resort refillable mug, filled with my morning coffee. My whole family wouldn't even drink enough pop to fill up one mug in a whole day.

Disney Eve! I am so jealous. But in a good way-- a healthy way, not a weird way. Have a great time. :woohoo:

... which will lead to another 20 page thread entitled "The stomach bug going around Disney right now." :happytv:

:rotfl: Gosh! It is snowing here :sad2: and clearly I am bored because I have spent most of my day in the drama of the refillable mug swap. Perhaps I should be going now. ;) On another note, I am new to posting and my DH has informed me that posting in all caps is aggressive and angry. Is this true? If so, I have likely ticked off some people today because I didn't know that  So sorry, no caps again (unless I am mad). :flower3:

I think you are trying to JUSTIFY your opinion by saying if WDW really cared then they would not count on guest integrity. "WDW should know by now that guests will use any loop hole they can. Gee I guess Disney does NOT care other wise they would find a way to enforce to enforce their rules."

When WDW started selling mutiday tickets that were to be used by the same person each day guests went ahead and sold half used tickets anyway.
STUPID Disney if they really cared they would do something about it.
Tickets cost more.

Then came Biometric readers and more time getting through the gates.

DDP child credits and adult credits were grouped.
Another loophole--Guests paid children's meals OOP and used the adult credits for Signature meals.
STUPID Disney if they really cared they would do something about it.
Now the meals are separated and DDP costs more.

Let's park at CR and go the parks.
STUPID Disney if they really cared they would do something about it.
Now there are 3 hour parking permits.

Let us pool hop to SAB
Studit Disney if they really cared they would something about it.
Then came a fenced in STB and wristbands for the guests.

Refill Mugs. Guests using the mugs at different resorts.
Many guests justified it because they had split stays.
I myself as I am quite sure many others did) wrote to WDW because I (they)felt it was unfair to guests with split stays ( I myself never had a split stay)
WDW changed to one mug so that it can now be used at any place that refills a Disney refillable mug.

This is a plus for any guest who uses a refill mug.

Yes, WDW does care about the bottom and they do care about refill mug abuse and when it effects their bottom line that the increased price of mug does cover it and there is a cost effective way to stop the mug abuse they will STOP it.

I personally think it is a shame that WDW has to enforce the rules because they can no longer trust the integrity of their guests.

Integrity? lololololololololololololololololol

Answer me this question, do you know for a fact that Disney is concerned about people using mugs from a previous visit? If you don't know the answer, you might want to reserve judgement on those who have been told they can, or anyone else for that matter.

Well, It is a fact they have a sign up saying to use the mug for your current stay only. It is a fact that it is printed right on the mug. And it is fact that people have been turned away from the soda fountain for having an old mug and it is a fact that if you wrote Disney and asked if you could use an old mug..They would say no. I personally would never ask if I could use an old mug for all of those reasons. But if some people feel the need to ask anyway and have been told it is okay(from who I dont know) then it is not my business. But, I am also sure that everyone that is using an old mug did not ask permission.

I'm sure too. However, I'm not sure how clear the signs were 10+ years ago, and there are people who were told the mugs were good forever. If I'd purchased a mug years and years ago with the promise of being able to use it again, I wouldn't have any guilt about reusing it.

Yes, I do know for a fact that WDW management is concerened.

Yes, I know they have signs and I also know what is printed on the cup.

And, as I've previously pointed out, there are other non-compliance to posted (signed) stuff too, fastpass being one. PRINTED on the fastpass is to return BETWEEN the times noted on it. But as many of us know, we do not have to return between the times on the fastpass.

This is all really very silly. People talk about honor, integrity, blah, blah, blah. Good grief, you'd think someone committed a felony, it's only a soda folks.

Then by all means please post all the viable knowledge you have of it.

Oh, and BTW, viable knowledge does not include something you read on the interweb or conjecture. If you have direct knowledge that Disney management is concerned about his issue I would love to hear it.

Well this is where we differ. you think it is silly and all about nothing..just soda. On the other hand, I think it is silly that people cant read the signs and abide by what it says. :confused3 We are not going to agree and like i said before, I dont pay attention to what mugs other people are using..I just do what I do and mind my business and do what I think is right for myself. Just for the record, I always return at the time listed on my fastpasses and I always buy a new mug.

Honestly, I've never read the sign. And how often do people look at the underside of a cup? Cups are meant to be used upright. :rotfl:;) I have bought mugs on every trip purely because I like to spend money! We also usually give our mugs away when we get home as gifts for the little ones, so we have to buy new ones. If a CM doesn't mention it, many people may not even realize there's a mug rule. As a matter of fact, I bought my first mug(s) after reading about it on the DIS. I asked the CM where they were, she grabbed a pair for me and rang it up. Never saw the sign. There's an assumption that everyone reads the bottom of cups and sees a posted sign.

Either way, whatever the reason to buy or to reuse, new mug buyers and mug recyclers are no better (or of higher/lower integrity) than the other.

No worries.

I always buy new mugs too, we have a nice collection going.

But, I rarely return between the time posted on the fastpass because I know it's Disney's policy to accept late fastpass regardless of what is printed on it. That's my point, just becasue it is printed on something doesn't mean it's a carved-in-stone policy.

I understand your point about things not being carved in stone. I dont think as many people really care about the fastpasses, because they are free for everyone. I think the mug issue hits a nerve for some because the people who are doing it right and buy a new mug for every stay are in a sense being "punished" because it is not enforced for everyone. People are getting something for free that other people had to pay for. That is just my thought as to why some people do get upset about it..I am not really sure lol I may be way off base.

I'll bet if you returned with that Fastpass on your next visit they wouldn't honor it though would they? Same goes for the mug.
