Red Sox Fans Thread ...let us pray...and sing...

2 hours and 15 minutes till liftoff!Let's Go Sox! Keep this streak going!!!

This is too big for a Nation, it must be Red Sox Planet!

OK, everyone has to look for a tall, dark-haired surly looking man and a woman who looks ready to go to sleep tonight in the crowd.

That will be my parents.:teeth:

I'm torn! If they lose tonight or, better still, it gets rained out, then tomorrow night's game won't be the big kahuna and I won't have to stay up until who knows what hour.

If this game gets played and they win, there will be no sleeping here until game 4 has ended and then there's the wind down time which could be very, very long. So, like with the Yankees in game 7, I can picture 3 a.m.

Seeing how I've got to be up at 4 a.m., why bother with sleep at all?

Note to self: Plan your house hunting/Disney World trips with the Red Sox in mind the next time! :earseek: :teeth:

One question (now that I've watched my third baseball game EVER): Why does Pedro Martinez has to pitch today?

/
Indyman. :teeth:

Pedro hasn't started a game in over a week, it's just his turn up. Plus he's never pitched a World Series game before. Big night for him.

Here's one of my grandbabies...ready to cheer :teeth:

Time for me to get into my stinky lucky clothes...Hope there is not a rain delay...I am not sure how long I can stay up tonight  have to be up at 5 to take DH to the airport!!

I can't wait for the game!!! Come on Pedro! :hyper:

Great pic NHAnn! Too cute.

I can't say it - I hope it inside but I can't even type it - keep thinking of Bill Buckner. I was there in 1967 and would LOVE to be there tomorrow in person but I'll watch on the tv for a bit and then leave and watch the scoreboard on my computer; because since I've been doing that they have won. I know I've developed more weird routines than Nomar.

Same here. I'm trying to keep a tight reign on my emotions considering our less then stellar past. But, man oh man, it's really getting hard!

I also attended the 1967 World Series (games 1 and 6) and I still remember the disappointment when they lost game 7. Of course that was nothing in comparison to '75, '86 and the mother of them all... last year!

I kept waking up last night thinking about what today might bring which resulted in not quite 6 hours of broken sleep. I've got a gazillion things to do today to get ready for our trip tomorrow and I'm doing my best zombie impression.

Tonight I'll also be sitting at the computer, watching the game on the TV in the room here and alternating between the Red Sox chat area and the Dis. I'll have on my Go Red Sox t-shirt, will be drinking a glass of Sam Adams and will have my air horn close by. If tonight really is the night, listen for an ear splitting blast from Brockton. I intend to empty that baby when the last out is made! :p

same here... afraid to even think it!!! I wasn't at the park for 67 and 75 but I remember them.... I remember being on my knees on the floor in front of my TV set crying :(
I'm tearing up just reading your posts.....

If they win tonight or even tomorrow I'm going to want to go back and watch the whole thing all of the games.... all over again KNOWING the outcome :teeth:
a lot less stressful....I could actually enjoy the whole thing ::yes::

It's going to be all right. Everybody, just breaaathe. Keep to your rituals....
hey , last night I SLEPT in the outfit I've worn for game watching since a week ago Sunday (game 4 of the Yankees series). Had to be up well before dawn to take DH to the airport this morning, and after 6 innings I really needed to try to sleep. So I just got into bed with the clothes on and turned on my radio, listened to the 7th on the radio, and then fell asleep. :)

It IS making me nervous the way the media is talking.....but I think the players themselves are on the right track...one game at a time...

WE BELIEVE!!!!!

I agree, I hate when the announcers start talking like it's OVER, ugh, I refuse to say it. I was so glad to hear Pedro, Manny & Mueller all say stuff like: "we're taking it one game at a time, these guys can come back at any time & we cannot let up"....unlike Sheffield who started popping off after the Yanks were up 3-0. I am still a nervous wreck.

Can't wait for tonight! :hyper:

Oh, did you guys see when they showed the Cardinal's dugout last night & that guy was sweeping it up.....too funny.

I don't say it either. I don't even think it. The media is ticking me off; they seem to know nothing about the gods of baseball.
