Recent travellers with a visa

Since travelling in april a flight attended friend has said they were eventually phasing out the white visa forms you fill instead of the green if you carry a visa. Does anyone know if this has happened yet? I'm not particuarly bothered if you still have to, just one less thing to do thats all.

My Son was travelling on a J1 student Visa last month, he had nothing to fill in onboard, once he arrived in the US the University gave him a website link to fill in online but that was for a student Visa. http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/travel/id_visa/i-94_instructions/i94_rollout.xml
