Our trip is less than 30 days away and I wanted to wait until now to stock up on any sedesma pins just incase the rules changed again...
Has anyone had any sedesma experiences in May or June of 2005? Thanks for any info!!!

I saw very few on lanyards..... most of these were at the MK.

Why would you want to stock up on Sedesma pins? Why not purchase some of the better pins. I know I saw some sedesma pins this past weekend and my daughter was not very happy when the mystery pin on a lanyard was a sedesma pin. She instantly trading it back to the CM. She is always ok with the mystery pins she gets but not the sedesma pins. They really do look cheaper in size and quality. You can grab a good deal on ebay for about $3 a pin when you purchase them in quanitity.
I understand that they say Disney on the back, but many times people have reported problems trading them so I would not take the chance. It sounds like you are aware that things change daily and depending on where you are and who you deal with.

If you have the time search ebay and look for a "lot" of pins, that way you get a hndful of pins for one shipping cost.

Just my thoughts,
Lori

Thank you for the info...

I have quite a few of the 'regular' pins... and I pay about $2.00 a piece for them by finding the right lots on ebay... however, I've noticed that the sedesma pins are cheaper. If I can trade sedesma pins for the pins that I want, then that's what I'd rather do to save a little money.

A mystery pin is pinned backwards to the CM's lanyard, so that you don't know what you are trading for.

Miste76, do you collect Sedesma pins for your personal collection? Do you ever trade for them? If not, why would you think anyone else would? Because that's what you're doing by putting Sedesma pins out there. More Sedesma pins means less quality, better pins. IMO, Sedesma pins are fine for younger kids who just like the character. But for the avid pin collector, they are basically useless.

My kids can tell a Sedesma pin just by looking at it now. We don't bring them as traders because we do not want to recieve them as traders.

:rotfl: My DS5 brought home the ugliest Hyena from our last trip as well as 3 Bambis! They Hyena has, of course, made it back into the traders, but he loves those wretched little dears! I even bought him a LE big Bambi pin...but no dice. Can't wait until he outgrows them! We, too, only buy what we would want to get.

I have occasionally picked a sedesma pin to trade with a CM lanyard without realizing it was sedesma until I looked at the back. If I like the pin, I don't care who made it... That said, I do like to look for CM lanyard pins and I also like to collect a few specific characters.

I'm very confused by all the posts that I've read on here that are so negative about the sedesma pins. I have always thought that you didn't have to trade with a CM if you didn't want to... so if they have a pin that doesn't look nice to you, then you don't have to take it - trade for a different pin!!!

The newest CM pins have a little Mickey Head on them. I also would just ask, because I was curious when I was talking with the CM.

I don't really care for these pins, personally, but I have several of them on my cast lanyard that were traded to me. A 20-something lady traded me an April Fools Day pin of a Sedesma nemo pin. Within an hour, someone else traded me for it b/c she really liked Nemo. She was 20-something too. So, I guess it's personal choice.

Hey Doombuggy,
I always wondered how often they let the CM's exchange the pins on their lanyards. Daily?? Weekly??

There was a CM on the boat from FW to MK one morning and he was upset because I wanted to trade a pin with him. He said that he had just refreshed his lanyard and he had to keep the junk pins that he had previously for two weeks. He said nobody wanted to trade for any of the pins that he had on his lanyard and now that he had different pins, he wanted to hold on to them for awhile. Now I don't trade Sedesma, ProPins or European pins, so I was not giving him junk pins. I know he wasn't suppose to refuse a trade and I stayed with him until he traded 'cause he had a Chip 'n Dale I wanted. But in order to finish the trade, I had to let him pick which pin of mine that he wanted. It didn't matter to me because all the pins on my lanyard were for trading anyway.

So I was just curious, how often do they let you refresh your lanyards?

I'd be curious too on how often they get to 'refresh" thier pins. I'd also be furious if they gave one of my children a hard time with trading any pin.

Regarding the Sedesma pins, Disney seems to go back and forth on this, so I would really try to stay away from them if possible. Why take the chance on getting stuck with them plus what kind of money savings would that be if you did get stuck with them.

During our stay this past June, we also saw alot of the 2000 pins which I see alot of on ebay, so beware of those, because they were on almost every lanyard we saw. They stuck out to me because I remembered seeing them on ebay and I still see huge lots of them on ebay. I'd hate to see somebody get stuck with alot of those. As least with the Sedesma they would be different characters, but who needs alot of year 2000 pins.

I totally agree!!! I'm so tired of seeing those 2000 pins! Now it seems like there is at least one of those in almost every larger lot :sad2:

Refresh my lanyard??? I usually only get new pins if I end up short. For example, recently I had someone trade me a pin that I thought was from Tarzan. It turns out it was not a Disney pin at all. So my lanyard is now at 11 pins instead of 12. A couple of months ago, another cm traded someone for a monorail pin, only this one has a girls name on it. We are not supposed to trade for pins with someone's name onit, but she apparently did not realize that. I traded a pin on my CM lanyard for this particular pin, since it was my name anyway.

If the CM on the boat that another poster spoke to was smart (since he seems to want to keep some decent pins on his lanyard), we would put some of the old pins on with some of the new ones. I certainly don't mind trading, and look at the lanyard as "not mine" because my lanyards are at home. If anyone trades w/me, they can give me whatever pin they want in return, as long as I don't already have it on my lanyard. My only things is kindly don't touch me. I don't care for some strangers touching my chest. :)

They were all over the MK lanyards just last night. Someone must have comein with a bag of them.

I'm new to the pins and I'm just wondering...how will I be able to tell if a pin is Sedesma when I am looking at it on Ebay? Will it look any different or should I only buy pins if they show the back? I would like to start trading on our trip in September. :flower:

The Sedesma pins are plastic. If you're not sure, simply ask the seller. Alot of sellers will state explicitly that their pins are not Sedesma. But just ask.
