Rebooking while on board

Okay, I don't leave until Dec 28, but I'm already considering cruising for Christmas 2003... I researched the prices, will it really be any cheaper to book onboard? Also, can I then transfer the ressie DU?

we rebooked while onboard 5/25 for nov 2003--got $200 onboard credit plus early booking.

then, when we got home, changed the date we were sailing AND switched to DU--no problem keeping same quoted price and the onboard credit--worked like a charm!

We sailed on the June 22 Western and booked our next cruise before we left the ship. We booked 2 rooms and received a $200 per room on board credit. We tried to book for June 2004 but they were not accepting bookings for June (too far out). They suggested we book out as far as possible, in this case, the end of April 2004 and move it within a few months when June's pricing is set and the bookings open up. The $200 per room credit will move with the movement of the booking from April to June 2004.

Erika, you definitely can transfer the cruise to DU after booking it onboard, or you can just let them know that you want to use DU as your agency when booking it onboard.

Pricing probably will NOT be cheaper to book onboard, it will be the same as the best early booking savings available at the time, but you will get the Castaway Club credit if you book while onboard.

Sorry Michelle, I have to disagree.

I booked our Oct. 26, 2002 cruise in early Nov of 2000. I believe it was the day that DCL opened this date for bookings. When we were cruising last year in late Oct. DCL offered a rebooking for the Fall of this year. We rebooked using our reservation number, keeping everything the same and received a $490. reduction and a $100. onboard credit.

Ginger, I think things have changed...
We checked into the prices on our 4th of July weekend cruise, and other than the stateroom credit, the price was identical to DU. There used to be an unboard discount, but I think it's gone now. Oh well, maybe someday they'll offer it again.

It was the same way when we booked on board in May. The price was the same as we could have gotten that day from either DCL or Dreams. Since we knew when we wanted to go next it made sense to book on board and get the $200 credit.

When the castmember was booking it she just asked if we wanted to stay with our same agent (Dreams) we said yes and it was a done deal! The best of both worlds in my opinion.

For the 4-day Wonder this past May we were able to get Springtime Magic savings and Dreams took care of it. I know that may not be offered again in 2003, but if it is we'll be that much happier!

Just booked on board the Magic for December 2003 - got the 200.00 on board credit (we are 7 day Magic in December) and just transfered the reservations to dreams...retaining the on board credit and possibly more if dreams can find any!
