Really? No ADR's needed for Universal/IOA? Even City Walk?

momo, if you really want to dine at one of the places in the park, especially Mythos, make the ressie early.
or whenever they do allow for the date you want to be there.

it is easier to bite the bullet and book early than to be disappointed if you wait and later find out you can't get in.

littlemermaid above mentioned that people were being turned away.
if you really want to eat there, don't let that happen to you.

at one time, reservations could be made months out, then i read it was 60 days out.

a friend of mine mentioned to me she had to wait 30 days out to make some ressies.

but my friend tells me a lot of stuff that aren't always so..........

go to nextable.com or opentable.com to see when you can get the ressie to mythos.

I do not know if these are the pork chops from 2009 but they now have a cranberry blue cheese pork chop that is new on the menu that is really good. I did not care for the brown butter gnocchi though. Those are the new things that I remember. The greek salad that is semi new is decent.

If you really have your heart set on a certain restaurant than go and make the ressie. The great thing about Universal is that even if you only make it a few days in advance you'll more than likely get it and the very best thing....the food is soooooo much better than Disney!!

Thinking about going to Mythos for lunch when we do Universal this summer. Looked up making reservations. It seems they used to use Open Table but I couldn't find Mythos on the site. Now it looks like you can only make a reservation a couple weeks out. Is that correct? if we are planning to go for lunch do you think we would even need a reservation?

check my reply above.
listed the other site that has mythos listed.

depending on your dates, some places allow ressies to be made 30 days out.
just depends on the site.

Aren`t they on nextable.com now?

By all means make a reservation, you are going in the summer so it will be busy.

We just don`t make reservations ever and have never had to wait too long, even in busy times.

But that doesn`t suit everyone. With Universal we always say you just don`t need to make them months in advance like Disney, few days even a week before is fine usually.

Just back and wanted to give an update

Saturday night dinner at city walk we had a reservation but ended up there early (6:30) and had no problem getting seated at Antijitos. When we left looks like there was a short wait but not much

Sunday (Mother's Day) we had a character breakfast at Royal Pacific. I'm very glad we made a reservations as walk ups were being quoted 45 min-1 hour at Jake's and 1 hour + at Islands' Dining room. I get that the Mother's Day may have impacted this but it was 10 am (not exactly primetime) so I think it may be worth to at least call a day or two head to get reservations.

good you had a reservation.
anytime you are there during a specific holiday, reservations are a good thing.

other than that, you can by without them for most places.

For Mythos and Marguaritaville I've always needed them. I usually book those a few days in advance and haven't had a problem getting in. When I tried to get into them day of, Mythos had no availability and Marguaritaville had a 2 hour wait.

We normally go to Margaritaville and Mythos for lunch and have little trouble being seated. I am always careful to be at Mythos when they open though.

What about Cowfish on Labor Day weekend? What site do they use to make reservations? Do you need a ressie?
