Really angry and I'm sure no recourse on 4/3 deal

Hey, Sharadoc --

I've had the same problem with my suite -- talked to the CM at length tonight about getting the package. The only thing she could come up with to accommodate our non-negotiable number of people was a 2 bedroom suite at Saratoga for $530 per night :scared1:

So I'll keep trying, too -- if not, I'll just buy my tickets separately and keep the room.

:sad2:

    lots of hugs to you - I can't wait til we get to meet in January! [I really really need to get back to that snowbirds board - but, boy does it move quickly!]

Hi Deb - thanks for the good wishes. Funny thing was the CM didn't even try to upsell me to something else - she was probably thinking she was in for a rough night!!!

I"m looking forward to meeting you too - first drink at the pool bar on me! The Snowbirds sure do move quick - I'll send you a PM. Thanks again!

Did the CM check at all, or just announce that the deal was not available for what you wanted?

Sorry to hear about the problem sharadoc.:sad2: Even though that stinks, just remember--you'll be in WDW!!!:jumping1: I wanted to go desperately after the 4/3 deal came out but DH said we still can't go due to finances.

And also remember--we are world champions!!! Go Fightins!!!:cheer2:

I had an experience like this in Sept with the free dining offer. We had to change our dates because of DH's job and I was told I could not keep the free dining because the specials were gone. So I booked a different special that was not as good. I called again and talked to a really nice cast member who talked to a guest services manager and they gave it back to me. I took a long time on the phone but was worth it. So if you don't get what you want from a CM ask for someone in Guest Services or hang up and call back because some CM's are more knowlegable than otheres:confused3

Thanks everyone - yes I am going to keep trying, luckily I can call from work and not have to pay for the call!! I don't want to do a travel agent, even if it would save money - just can't give up the control.

I am married to a suite - we have a child with autism spectrum disorder who freaks out in a regular hotel room, so we absolutely need a living space and cooking capability, since we can't do restaurants all the time. Plus, we're going for 11 nights, and don't plan to be out all the time, so we want the relaxation space.

We do have our heart set on All star Music this time. In addition to the suites, the activities sound great for my daughter to have something to do in case my son decides he won't leave the room.

On the bright side, I won't have to pay 45 days in advance, since we only have a room reservation. For us, 45 days out will be around December 4. Hate to have to pay for Christmas and Disney all at the same time.

Thanks again - I posted mostly to warn others who may fall victim. I guess for as much as I read the DIS, I didn't get the sense that something so basic as to which rooms are part of the deal would be misunderstood by a CM. I learned my lesson - that's for sure!

It was probably was that it wasn't available not that it didn't qualify. What I always do is check regular availability is the room type I have isn't showing at full price that means it won't be available with the discount. A co-worker was able to get the family suites in March with the 4 for 3 offer, his TA got it for him on the day the discount was released.

Keep in mind that the family suite doesn't have a full kitchen it only has a microwaver and refrigerator, no stove, where the cabins have a full kitchen. In case this makes a difference for you

Are you driving or flying? If you are driving, have you thought about the Windsor Hills Condos and townhouses? Everyone has good things to say about them on the orlando board. You would get a full kitchen and a resort feel. We are thinking of staying there for a few days after we leave CBR.
The only bad thing would be you could not split up if one of you had to take a child back to the resort.

I know the FW campsites are not included in the 4/3 deal, but if a suite is not available, what about the FW cabins - are they included in the 4/3? They are bigger than a regular room, have cooking area, privacy for sleeping and although they do cost a little more (@$90 extra/night), what they allow in privacy & space is supposed to be great. One of my co-workers just stayed in one with her family last month and really like them. They did a split ressie and also stayed a BWV and they liked the cabins better! This is saying a lot since she is NOT an outdoors person - her idea of roughing it is staying at a two star instead of a four star hotel and she raves about the fun the family had at the cabins. - just my .02.

Yes, the FW cabins are included, if any are still available; they kept coming up for our dates.

Hi! Just wandering why the campsites are not included in the deal. I am really happy that we finally have our first and only trip to Disney a head of us, after being postponed a couple of times. But to make it happen, we will drive from Quebec and stay at the campground. That is ok, we do love camping with the kids. But i would had really appreaciate to have the deal and save a little money. It would had help a lot on our budget. But, anyway, we are going and it will be magical i am sure !

coccinelle- Have you priced out the difference between paying for 7 nights at the campground vs. 4 at a value resort with the 4 for 7 deal? I would think it would be almost the same price. I looked at mousesavers for the prices, but I do not know your dates. I just hate for anyone to miss out on a deal. You can change your reservation if you have already made one.

Thank you for your answer !We are a family of five(kids are 10-8-6), so the next best option are Port Orlean and the Cabins at Fort Wilderness and even with the deal, it is a lot more expensive. So, campground it will be! But i still dont know why they let the camp sites out of the deal .... And i am still soooooo exited to go!!!

They left the campsites out of the deal because they stay booked with hardly any discounts at all!! Also, the Fort is going through a major renovation with at least 1 or 2 loops closed at a time right now, which further limits availability. The campsites just don't need to discount.

Thank you for explaining this to me, i appreciate it !

Coccinelle - Since you're staying at the campsite and can't take advantage of the 4/7 deal on the resort, you are staying on-site and I'm guessing buying 7 days of tickets, so it might not hurt to call and ask (okay, beg :worship: ) if they will at least give the 4/7 deal on the theme park tickets. They may not, since you are staying at the campsites, however; if they did, at least you'd get to take advantage of the savings on the tickets - not a lot but it will pay for some souvies or dinner one night. And let's face it every penny counts.

Okay number 1, a 7 day ticket is like $5 more then a 4 day. Secondly, CRO has NOTHING to do with how much a ticket costs, there is physically no way for them to modify ANY prices.
