I don't know if anyone will find this funny. I do. Cause I was there. And I did it. So here's my exciting end to a long week:
Ok
.so I was outsmarted by my chair at work today. It wasnt my fault totally. Well actually it was, cause thats what you get when you play around with office equipment. Well it started out innocently enough. My coworker wanted to adjust the back of her chair, but said that you cant. I was no
..you can. I then started to monkey around with the little turny dial on the side. That wasnt right. It did NOTHING. So I get out if the chair and I take a look at all the little knobbies on the thing. There are three. One moves it up and down, once tilts the seat up and down, and the third one tilts the back of the chair. Well at least that is what the little pictures on the handles told me.
So being the GENIOUS that I am, I sit in my chair and was like, hey look at this, it tilts the seat part. So
.anyone care to guess what happened. Yup, I pushed it down. So I am sitting there pushing this lever..and I push down on my seat. It slants waaay down. I let go of the lever. I mean I am sitting there at my desk, and I am sliding out of my chair. So I go to put it back. It doesnt go. AT ALL. I kid you not. I am sitting there at a slope, trying not to fall completely on the floor. I cant fix the darn chair. It wont go back flat. Like its supposed to be. So, I play it off. I was like this is actually MORE comfortable this way. As I propped myself up in the chair.
Anyone care to guess my next genious move?? Thats right, fiddle with more levers on the darn chair. So I am sliding out of my chair and I grab the Tilt the Chair Back Lever. It doesnt want to move. But I am insistent. I pull it hard, and the back of my chair tilts way back.. I am now the gangsta teller. I got the lean going on. But as a plus this leaning back offsets my sliding off the chair. So it works. So then I realize I may be stuck like this. I need to fix my chair, and fast before someone walks in and catches me in this really weird position. So I grab what I thought was the seat tilty knob. AHA
.that wasnt what it was. It was the put the chair down lever. I am sitting there looking at my coworker and I said to her, I need to fix my chair and I pull the lever. Down I go. She cracks up, I crack up and I cant fix my chair. I am now really low, leaning way back, and sliding off the front of the chair. I am smoooooth. Seriously smooth. AND I CANT FIX THE CHAIR!!!
I thought that the next move was that the chair was going to implode and my butt was going to be dragging the ground. Seriously, I was waiting for it.
I keep pulling at the levers and NOTHING happens. I broke it. Badly. How do you explain this to your boss. I need a new chair cause I was playing around and I broke it.
I finally got it to move a little bit. The bottom anyway. So I am not falling out of it anymore. Thats where I left it. Cause I couldnt take it anymore. I was doing the shaky laugh. SO was she. We agreed that is what I get for playing around.
Maybe you should have been there, cause it was hilarious. It may not be as funny now. But just picture it
maybe it will be funny.
