Reading, seeing and hearing

YEAH!! I made it through the 26 pages!!!

OK, the main thing I read are the DIS, Mouseplanet and SGT.
I used to read lots and lots and lots of books, but I don't have time for that anymore. I mean, I can't read TRs and intellectual books at once

The books I like(d) to read?
Danielle Steel, Judith Krantz, .... I know, I know, not the most intellectual books, but they are just right to read in bed at night!
I also like Stephen King and Dean Koontz. Also in bed at night, woohoo!!!

Other books I like? I like reading about communistic Asia. You know, like Jung Chang's three daughters of China, Lulu Wang's books, ...
(oh, btw, I usually read the Dutch translations...)
I also really really enjoyed Morgan's run by Colleen McCullough. It's a biographic story about the prisoners that were deported by England to Australia, and how they built up a life over there.

I need my newspaper in the morning. I need my Cosmopolitan, Elle, Marie Claire, etc. You know, as a rich jet-setting European, I need to know what to wear while doing my jet-setting activities!

*right*

I like to listen to Disney music, and I like "musical"-music even more. Unbelievable but true!!

My all-time favourite musical is Elisabeth. Although it has been translated into many languages, it has never been translated into English (except for some songs) If some of you understand German, I'll post some parts of songs. Now, my alltime favourite song from that musical is "I belong to me". It's not only a beautiful song, it became my "motto" for life. (and that is basically the reaso why i am still a single)

The last part of the song goes like this:

I'm here when you need me
I'll live and I'll die with you
I'll share all your troubles
I'll laugh and I'll cry with you

You can blame me and bless me
But you cannot possess me
Cause I belong to me

I do know the song by heart in Dutch and German, but not in English (except for the last part), if someone is interested (which I doubt), I could post the whole thing this weekend or so.

Why I am still a single because of this? Men like every line out of it, except the "but you cannot possess me". At least, (most) Belgian men don't like it. They still want to be the "master of the house and family" and I refuse to live that way.

I'm also still single, because I kicked my last boyfriend/ fiancee out because of the Mouse. I love the Mouse, I adore the Mouse, I worship the Mouse. It's simple, and easy. And I am honest aout it. It's not something I hide, I tell it upfront. They know from the beginning about my love for the Mouse.
Now, DBF (and the D is not for darling or dear!!!) didn't like the Mouse. No problem for me, he doesn't have to like the Mouse. As long as he doesn't mind the Mouse is on about everything I have (sheets, towels, tableware, clothes, watches, ....), and he allows me to go visit the Mouse once in a while, I'm fine. But no, DBF didn't want that. DBF didn't like me worshipping the Mouse. DBF made me choose between him and the Mouse. Two weeks ago, I went visiting the Mouse, alone. I guess you already know for whom I chose???

Don't ever let me choose between something and the Mouse! Something will ALWAYS loose!!!

I don't watch a lot of television and I don't go that often to the movies.

I try to watch Lost though. Sawyer and jack (? is that how that doctor is called?) are SO hot!!

I also love my daily Sex and the City fix!! (on DVD of course) Mr Big is also so HOT!!! And Carry and co help me not to commit suicide. They are older than me, and don't have that longlasting relationship (until season 6, that is!) and they survived it!!!

My favourite movie? For the moment: Bridget Jones. See above for the reasons :rolleyes1

Mel, thanks for pointing me to this thread!!

Haley, I just saw you're from Austin. I LOVE Austin!!!!!!! I went to a wedding in Austin (don't ask me how I ended up at a wedding in Austin!) It was an outside wedding, in the middle of July. They had rented the most beautiful B&B place on a hill with views of a lake, and got married next to the pool. except for the 110F, it was perfect!!!

I also had my first illegal alcoholic drink in public in Austin. At the Hula Hut, I ordered a cocktail, and they didn't ask for my ID (which was rather bad, they had signs all over that said "we ID under 30". I was barely 20!!!!)
I also own 2 "official" Lone Stars. One that has flown over the capitol on July 17 and one from July 18. Too bad it wasn't July 19, my Bday!

Anyway, the first chance I get to move to Austin (or anywhere in Texas), I'll take it, and never come back to Belgium!

By the by, I'm of the uninitiated. What is "ut"? I have a sneaking suspicion that its to do with guano. I'm right, aren't I? Ugh. and bah.

reading..............

Thanks for the Georgie tale. Cute story. I like waking up and getting an image of him first thing, well almost first thing.....

Now I suspect you are a good deal younger than me. The Jetsons was in first run, when I was a lass. Lovd it. Daughter Judy had many crushes and when describing her current love would swoon and say "he is the most ut". get it? switch those two words for its usual usage. Always liked that. Have used it often. I have swooned a few times in my life... and still do. :teeth:

Chappie- You are not doing your part here. Get out your google and find something funny to say. You are a fastpass and need to be here. And I won't slap you today. Here {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{kiss}}}}}}}}}}}}}}. Now lala, I can't promise about her. :smooth:

Sandra- Ich liebe arbeiten.........NIEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I saw your funny posts over there, on that melly story. And you were kind enough to post on mine too. Welcome here and reading, seeing, hearing covers just about anything.

Kerri Sue- Yes. On the Beach has a dark, dark ending. So did the film. But watching Gregory Peck made it worth it. He too, was the most ut!

Chris, thanks for the morning shout out. Technically 1 am is today, but methinks it is sort of cheating......

Everyone else. Bonjour! :yay: and no server problems! TG life is returning to normal.

is a fastpass1?!

For old times sake:

I am having hazelnut coffee with a dash of cream in my Poly refillable mug. The thin one, not the fat one. The mug that is.

I read the paper this mornning. I found Dear Abby to be of interest and also enjoyed the comics.

All my bats came home this AM right on time and are resting comfortably. Probably nursing their young after a long night on the town. Will be looking for small resealable bags to gather my guano gold in. Haley please find out where we should market this and I will send you a % of the profits. I am working on an advertising campaign as we speak.

Everyone else  . Big weekend ahead. Later gators

The only time I saw bats... was in Austin, where they live somewhere under a bridge. It was an experience... And now you have the experience at home!!!

Make some publicity, ask $5 for those who want to see them, and in no time, you'll have enough money to go see rats

er, mice.

Good Morning!! (again)

La~ make sure he looks :teeth:
Horse~ Happy birthday to the little princess ponygirl.
Gram~ I am on my way over. Not for guana.
Chap~ Horse is right. Get back here mister. You have been a slacker.
Amy and Rhonda~ I'll do what I can but I see some logic is required.
Lou~ what happened to the pm train?? I am still waiting at the station.
Jen~ beware of giantbeastwomen. :rotfl2:

HORSEY,

Is it really your birthday? Why did I think it was July?? Well, if it is, :bday: If it isn't, well, never mind.

Okay, I am officially sick and feeling miserable. Went to bed right after my last post last night (a little after 7:30), and am still trying to wake myself up to go to work (late). Fortunately, I think we're closing early today, so I can come home and relax again. Yuck. I hate being sick. Rhonda, hope Wesley's feeling better. PMM, how'd your sweetie do last night? Still coughing? I hate that, too. It's impossible to sleep when you're listening to them coughing and worrying about them (and them waking the others!).

Mornin' to all. It's Friday!!!!! (and a long weekend! Even better!)

Morning everyone.

Roofers are here. Wesley is sleeping through it. Don't ask me how. Today's his last day of school, and as he has been on an antibiotic for (almost) 24 hours, off he goes! My reasoning is... he got it there... so it's not like the place isn't already infected... I still feel like a terrible mommy, though. Ordinarily, I NEVER send/take him anywhere when he is sick. On the other hand, he told us yesterday the roofers were "making his head hurt". I know the feeling. So I figure he will truly be more comfortable at school! And this afternoon we will run errands, so as to not be in the house.

Going to make coffee...

I also meant to ask if it is really Horsey's birthday?? Well, if it is...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! WE LUVS YOU!!

And if it's not.... We luvs you anyway!

PSA

It is Horsey's childs birthday, not her's :thumbsup2

Austin has made a tuorist industry out of bats. Just google
"bats congress avenue bridge"

You will get a plethora of information about the largest urban colony of mexican free tail bats inthe world. :woohoo:

New this year:

Batfest will feature Arts, Crafts, Music, Food, Bat Watching, Children's Activities, and Educational Displays. Estimated attendance is around 20,000! Don't miss this maiden event which has already stirred up considerable press and publicity.
September 2-3, 2006 (Saturday & Sunday)

Grammy, I have got an extra room would you like to come down for the festivities?

How appropriate that THIS post would be about the Dixie Chicks! Saw them on 60 minutes the other night Sher. And I cannot turn the tv on now. Any more noise might just put me over the edge.

Can you believe that Mark has gone back to sleep?? There are 15 men on my roof, and they all have very heavy tools. And they are all using them at the same time. SLEEP??? And, I can hear their (two different) radios blaring, as well. Perhaps if my headache ever goes away, I can blast AC/DC or something, to mask the noise.

Grammy, I will remind you once again that the house next door to me is still for sale.

It is bat-free, termite-free, and has a great porch where we could share our coffee. Hayley and my E could get in plenty of trouble together. We have a Wallyworld 15 mins away for her shoes.

Morning everyone!

TGIF!!

I am SO ready for a long weekend...and it's starting at 11:30 a.m. YES!

Rhonda...Glad to hear Wesley is starting to feel better. He's gotta be ready for his next whirlwind trip to visit Princess Aurora! Did you get your ADRs made?

Horsey...Is is your birthday or your lttlle girl's? Since I'm not sure, here's a blanket Happy Birthday to both of you...and if it's not, then Happy Unbirthday!!

OK..speaking of seeing....did anyone catch any of So You Think You Can Dance? I was flipping through the channels last night and stopped on it for a second. It was like watching an accident happen...I couldn't look away! I gess it's AI for dancers, and they were showing the auditions. Talk about creepydee!

I have to get caught up on the TV I missed while I was out of town. I haven't seen the last Lost yet, and even though I know Taylor won, I didn't get to see the AI finale either. And I think I have an Apprentice to watch, too. Yes, it's true...I watch too much TV!

Later, y'all!
