Speaking of cassoulet and ragu, (aka food), my daughter got home from Germany Monday and said she had liver 4 days in a row (at restaurants even!)
I dont think there is a single restaurant here that serves liver, or any kids that like it in the US of A.

Except my family :confused3

Java...no pirate books???

Sadly, no. My love of pirates came later in life. Although I have read a few interesting biographies of lady pirates, such as Anne Bonny and Mary Read...

Oh an one most fairly interesting recount of the real Tortuga Island - just google Tortuga Island and click on the 5th link "Short History of Tortuga 1625-1688.

Lots of good info at some other places, but because not every parent likes pirates, (all those jolly rogers don't ya know) you can PM for good sites with historical pirate info.

Let's see the last series of books that I read was the Left Behind series.

Sobbed like a baby whe Chloe went to the guillotine, although I'm not quite sure if they were tears of sadness or relief. Actually, I think they were tears for her son.

At any rate, the series was great. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would going into it. I think the whole movie first thing turned me off. I try not to read books that have moives only because I always find that the book is better and then that is a let-down. Although I think that I am definately going to try to read the Ya Ya book.

Steph -
you really should read YaYa. It is wonderful. One of those that will have you laughing and crying at the same time.

Maybe I'll reread it this year.

BTW your ticker doesn't look exactly like mine. Mine ends sooner.... :cool1: :cool1:
sure, rub it in. I was going to give you the love tomorrow, but now . . .

But there's only 30 minutes left today. Wouldn't you rather have all the love all day tomorrow?

Lou - I'd have billed you for more than that! And if you pull out that stupid retainer again, my price goes up!

now you need to tell the george clooney story as he is the most ut.

Ask and ye shall recieve.

As many (most?) know, Clooney (George, not Rosemary) is from a small town in, er, Kentucky. When he hit the "big time" (as it were) he got a call from, yaknow, the town council. Or whomever is official and makes these sorts of calls from small Kentucky towns. Anyway, the topic of aforementioned call was that the official(ish) town council type person was officially offering to name a street in town after George. Modest and humble as he is (it's true(ish)), his kneejerk reaction was to decline.

Until something dawned on him. (Cue trumpets and horns)

The guy who made his life, um, shall we say AHEM difficult AHEM for the entirety of his adolescent years probably still lives in small nameless Kentucky town. Tickled pink by the implications of this realization, GC asked OTCTP if this were, indeed, the case. It was.

So guess who now lives on Clooney Avenue (Blvd? Road? whocares)???

Ya guessed it.

The baaaaaaaad bully.

Yum...that's some glorious payback.
The best I've heard of, I dare say.
SuperSweeeet.

If only my life were so sweet....

By the by, I'm of the uninitiated. What is "ut"? I have a sneaking suspicion that its to do with guano. I'm right, aren't I? Ugh. and bah.

reading..............

Horsegirl---I read On The Beach soooooooooo many years ago. I think I was in junior high then. The sad thing is I only remember the end, which was really sad.

At the delight of my husband I am trying to get thru the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan. Fantasy stuff, similar to The Lord of The Rings. Anyone else out there reading or have read those.

Have a great day
Kerri
