FOR THE LOVE OF ALL VIKINGS........

THIS THREAD WAS ON PAGE THREE

NAB - where are you girlfriend????

Boy we were way back on page 3.

My daughter has her senior kindergarden graduation today. I can't wait. The teacher takes alot of pictures during the school year and makes up scrapbooks and photo album of there work. She also made grad hats for them to wear when they get a litte diploma. This teacher is awsome. So I will be out for the afternoon. We have three more days of school left.

Ok - I was appointed Maelstrom Secretary.

But now - I have been given the task of NAB's "Executive Assistant In Charge of Page Turning", or EAICOPT for short.

Is the ship sinking in all this rain?

Where is everyone?

For the love of toilets, I've was reading the Dis :surfweb: this Am, people! Then. It happened. My OWN (finally) toilet story is unfolding  even as we speak. Off to the store :moped: :moped: for emergency supplies, including a new keyboard since my tainted, if scrubbed, fingers are lurking here.

Like my Sher, I DO NOT!! do toilets.
I'll report the story later.

Try to keep us on page one. I thought we were a community. Poor NAB and YAK need a rest...

I don't ever know what page we're on, because I have the thread on my favorites. So I rarely see the main CB view. Anyway, I DID go to the gym this morning (yeah!) and boy am I out of shape. Amazing how a few weeks away can really mess you up.

Nic, welcome back. Look forward to hearing more about Hilton Head.

SID, I just watched the NKOTB video (sorry Erin). Y'know what, they were pretty darn bad. I mean BAD. I mean, I always thought they had good voices, and they could dance, and it was just their material that was weak. But, much as I respect you and your love for "Funky, Funky Christmas".....It was BAD. And Joey actually looks a heck of a lot better today than he did then. I guess that's a good thing.

Rhonda, that recipe sounds yummy. May have to try it soon.

Sher, where have you been girly? Are you actually WORKING today? I think I'll have to check the blog to see if you're just not doing a good job with the multitasking.

Rhonda! That recipe sounds delightful. And healthy. Gotta keep up the antioxidants on those brain cells we're killing. That's my motto. :thumbsup2

NicoleMarie! :wave2: Thanks for agreeing to abide by the sandal pledge. Probably the pledge is MOST ut importance for us Northern girls. Who have the opportunity to wear sandal for maybe 15 minutes a year, unless we travel to southern climes. So it's tempting to just throw them on without performing the necessary maintenance.

And, thanks for the iTunes ideas! I'm still working on getting all my cds into the little podster. (there's a word for this, right? Ripping? Burning? When did music become so violent?)

JW -- Who is sweetie? I suspect I know ... but don't forget the rest of us, 'k?

MommyPoppins -- where oh where to get toddler-size Crocs? My ds insisted he had to have some. I let him get the olive green ones. Now baby Syd is the only Crocless one. She wants bright pink ones. I saw some at a store today but they were notCrocs. Komodo, I think? Don't want the knockoffs!

Everybody
-- it is FINALLY a BEEEYOOOTEEEEEEFUL day here in the North. At least where I am. And more rain on the way tonight into tomorrow and the rest of the week. So I'm off, to take my kiddies swimming and soak up a little Vitamin D to get me through.

Good Afternoon Everyone - Shout out: Sher, HorseyBubbles, La2, Rhonda, Em's Mom, Grammy, Ash, 2IAB, Kimmiepoo, Donna, Mel, Tink, JavaSteph, Shelby, Haley, Brandt, SNAP, PrincessAurora (you're back!), Frickles, Jamal, NM, PPG, PP, MP, DMM, ODG, Sid, NAB, Minnie, spectrum-turbo, Mark, Lou, Chapstick, Ed, Joe, MG, LG, hoop, Mr. Silly, ZZUB, darrylpan and whoever I missed that will never let me forget it (again)

YAK - sorry I can't help with the page turning. I'm working today. REALLY. Being very productive. Your tax dollars at work, well, not yours, particularly. Really not anyone's but the MarkyMarks, Chappie and NM. Is there anyone else in GA?

NAB - you've piqued my curiousity. WHAT is "senior kindergarten"? It implies a "junior kindergarten" which has me puzzled. Is this like my daughter, who will spend 2 years in the 4K program? (due to her birthday vs. the school cutoff date vs. her educational/maturity level already such that they're moving her to 4K 1 month before her birthday, and therefore a whole year before she is SUPPOSED to move up.)

Jami - sweetie. Hope you're feeling better soon. Hope I didn't give you whatever it was that caused the boy so many problems night before last. Which reminds me, I need to tell ya'll what happened yesterday at the grocery store. Or not.

We have :sunny: here today also, but I sort of wish it would keep raining. Yup, we are in such a drought state that I wish it would keep raining. But not so much that it floods. But it's beautiful outside right now, some sun, some clouds, balmy in the high 80's, and the air is soooooo soft with the moisture, but it's not so hot that it's cloying.

Not here for long. Need to get back to work.

See everyone later. I hope. Unless I die from this exertion.

Oh, oh, oh, I can answer this.

NAB - EAICOPT at your service - since you are out this afternoon.

Here in the great white north we have Junior Kindergarten at age 4, and then senior Kindergarten at age 5. Then on to Grade one.....first grade to you Amy.

For the most part both Jr and Sr go just half day. Or full day, every other day. So not 5 days per week. In some cases Sr. K is full day, full time.

I was so confused when we arrived in GA. DD went right into First Grade but DS wasn't of age yet. Then I heard about PreK4 and I didn't know what that was. NAB - in Georgia Kindergarten is full day, 5 days per week - much like grade 1.

Plus up here we do Calender year - so all babies born in say, 1998 are entering Grade 3 this year.

To sum up: Junior K = preK4, except the public school system provides it in the schools.
Senior K = Kindergarten

Class Dismissed.

Thanks YAK! Now I understand. I like the cutoff being the calendar year. That makes sense to me.

(Sort of like racehorses and their birthdays (all racehorses age 1 yr on Jan. 1. Did everyone know that?) I would almost like it to be the same for people. At least then I wouldn't be CONSTANTLY forgetting birthdays.)

HOw are you today my sweet YAK?

Any guesses on what my son did to me in the grocery store yesterday? Set off a chain reaction with his sister, too. Lovely. Mommy catch, again and again and again. Thank goodness the grocery cart/racecar came equipped with wet wipes, eh? Gotta love Publix.

Yes, you forgot Frickles!! And I, too, am working and being productive today. Georgia just might come undone, Amy, with both of us working so hard.

Yes, you DO need to tell us what happened at the grocery store. And I agree with the weather. I wish it would rain for a week. Or so. But without the floods.

And we are having a dilemma about Wesley's schooling. He will enter 4K this fall. But he is already reading, writing and doing basic math. And by reading, I don't mean 'cat'. I mean, 'bilingual'. He can pretty much read anything in our house. Our concern is that he is going to be 'bored' with school. (We've already had one round of this. He started 2K at 18 mos, but had to repeat it the next year, because of his age. He hated 'school' that year, he was bored to tears. At age 2!!) Any suggestions or advice on this front?

Amy, after such a productive day, surely we will have earned a 'health drink' tonight. Dontcha think??

An edit in the quick reply slot, if you will. The toilet emergency involves said unit malfunctioning. MY toilet, if you will, is fine. DS6? Another type of colon altogether, which will be the story later after I clean up the mess that is an overflowing toilet AND attempt, for my FIRST TIME EVERRRRRRR, to successfully use a plunger.
Now you know my story.

Wish me luck; I'm goin' in...

Amy, Jami... thanks, guys, for getting our thread back on track. With stories. Of that nature. Really. It's been too long.

Amy, are you carrying germs? Cause if you are... might have to postpone tomorrow's plans!! LOL!

Oh, Ash...

did I ever say it was GOOD???

nooooooooooooooooo, m'am.

it's not good.

it's bad.

hysterically, hilariously, snort milk out of your nose bad.

With an Arsenio Hall bonus. He's bad, too.

THAT'S why I love it. And them.

The absurdity of it all.

Love you though. You're good. Very, very. ;)

Oh but before I go in, yes, Erinella, I will watch out for Em while she is here! I'm about an hour from Lynchburg; do you know that's the home of Jack Daniel's whiskey? And for heaven's sake, sleep a few days after all that driving! It made me tired to read all that...

OK< now I'm realllllllllllllllllly goin' in.

Ok Jami you are on your own now.

I am home so that means.............everybody thinks I should be cooking dinner........that should be ready before 6 because they have things to do........and the count is now at 11.

I have NO idea what we will be eating.

Thinking, thinking....................

Guys...I need help.
I was about to start getting ready to go home...cause we close at 4.
