I don't believe it makes any difference.
Did anyone notice that the 2pm queue today didn't open until 9 seconds after 2:00?
I was able to get in right at 2 PM. Are you waiting for the "Join" button to be enabled on the "Home" screen?

I always try from the "My Queues" page and just hit the "Join Virtual Queue" as my phone hits 2 PM. Retrying is much faster from this page.

I didn't know about that option. I was following the steps outlined in a theme park blog, but their procedure sounds like it's second best.

When you try this way, and it's really 1:59:59 or whatever, what do you see? Do you have to back up to the Join Virtual Queue screen and try again?

I always hit it at exactly 2 PM by watching my iPhone. It has worked every time for the last 15 days.

You don't have to back up but that is one way or you can just hit the Blue Plus sign on the "My Queues" page. Try both methods. It really depends on if you are right handed or left handed based on our test group. The Blue "Back" arrow is smaller and near the left edge of the screen so some testers have complained.

You can also have the "My Queues" page refresh by putting your finger over the "It looks like you have not joined a virtual queue yet" message above the "Join Virtual Queue" button and sweeping down about 1/3 of the screen. Try it you will like it better than the "Home" screen refresh and then finding the "Join" button . You should see the "Checking groups" message flash right under the My Queues header.

I am 5 weeks out I better start practicing!

I have a question. Is it worth going to the park just for this ride? Tomorrow is our last park day and it isn't our favorite park.

Also wanted to know if it's run time is affected by the rain.

Hi I have a question about multiple party members trying to get a boarding group (I am sure this was answered somewhere earlier on this thread but can't find where).

Does it matter if the other party members have their own MDE account or are just using my account? One of the other party members is my teenage (13) son, so I think he will have to be logged in to my account since I assume that children can't have their own account. But my wife could set up her own account, or she could use mine. Does it make any difference? TIA
Someone else answered the question about whether it matters whose MDE account you're signed into. (It doesn't.) I'd like to add that your 13 y.o. son is now old enough to have his own account if you choose to go the separate accounts route.

Rain doesn't effect it but it goes down A LOT so your day might be frustrating. It's supposed to be the best ride at Disney though.

It's a tough call. If you decide to do it and want the help, let me know and I'll do my best. Getting BG 1 would help your odds of it being a more seamless experience, I think, but I know it's hard that you can't then go to another park afterwards.

I might take you up on this!

Just a reminder that having someone try from home is a great option but remember you need to give this person your MDE info and although no credit card info can be accessed your room number will be shown as well as any photos you have. So be sure you trust the person before giving out this info
You can never be too careful

Oh well... maybe we'll get on it next year. DH got backup boarding group 56 at 2pm today...but Rise was down for a few hours...last boarding group called was 51. We actually left the park around 4pm while it was down, it was at 29 when it went down. We figured we'd go back if the groups were near ours. Around 6:30, the app said our group would NOT be called and they were full for the day. Glad we didn't stick around..it was so hot again today... plus we switched resorts today and needed to unpack.

Hi Guys, I hope you can help me, any tips will be helpful. I am flying from LA to Orlando on friday because i got sick of waiting for Disneyland to open. I booked disney tickets for 5 days but didnt choose which day is which. Rise of the resistance is very important to us, we weren't able to get on it yet and will be extremely dissapointed if we couldn't get on. Is there a better day to choose that will give me a bigger chance? what is the best way to go about getting a BG? when should i get to the parking, where should i wait in the park, anything should help (i have a samsung gs20 if that makes any difference)

I recommend going back about 5 pages and reading reports. There's no better day than others, the bg seem to go very quickly everytime, maybe within 30 seconds or less but everyone has reported their experience so just read back

Definitely get your park reservations in. I would plan for 2 Hollywood Studios days up front, selecting your first one on either your first or second day and the second HS day as your third or fourth day. HS is consistent with guest levels, meaning no day is better than another. If you're able to ride RotR on the first day in HS, you can change your second HS park reservation to something else, but going with 2 days planned will increase your chances. For my trip which is 5 days as well, my park ressies are in this order: HS, Epcot, HS, AK, MK. This might be a good plan for you coming in from California as well, to give you time to adjust to the time change by doing the later opening parks first.

If you're renting a car, definitely get there early, 9-9:15 seems to be about the time the lot/park opens. If staying on site and relying on resort transportation, sometimes a lyft/uber is the safest bet. If you have to take the bus, get to the bus stop at your resort by 9 to give yourself plenty of time.

Since the park is no longer packed (I mean pre-covid levels packed, it's still busy in the park) wall to wall with people, I can't imagine one place will be better than another as long as you're using Cellular data. Just be sure you're ready a few minutes before 10am. Have your preferred plan of using MDE to join boarding groups down pat so you know what to expect as soon as the time hits 10am.
Good Luck!

Just to add to @yulilin3's post above from yesterday, using DISBoards as a forum to solicit or encourage sharing of personal information (such as what is needed to connect MDE accounts) is not permitted. This includes dummy accounts or similar setups.

If trusted DISfriends want to go off on their own and share information in an effort to work together to get a BG, that is one thing. But using this thread (or any thread) to solicit or suggest such sharing among previously unconnected individuals is not permitted.

Thanks all.
