It's been done successfully. Your entire party has to go to a GET CM and get it resolved as close to 10am or 2pm as possible, not a way to bypass any rules since the entire party has to be there

So glad it was worth it for you!
I'm not sure how that changes anything. Adding people to your BG party costs you valuable seconds in the process. So, why not just get the BG for yourself then take your group to the CM and have them added?

Because it's not guaranteed they'll have all those spots available when you get to them. I was there first day of reopening when they had huge issues with the app, it didn't recognize i was in the park went straight to a GET CM and had to wait 20 minutes because of the line of people. Once i got to them all the spots they had available were gone, had to wait for the 1pm slot
Where are they located? Sorry if that's been asked before. Sounds like just any old CM won't work?

GET CM are by the director statue at Hollywood Blvd and across baseline taphouse. They have blue shirts and stand under blue umbrellas

I'm sure it's easier now to get added if something happens with your party since it's only 1 party per vehicle, so not like you're really taking up spots from others.
I would think also if going to a GET CM doesn't work, you could just try to ask the CM's outside the ride and politely ask them if there's any chance someone could join you since there were issues. It's not a guarantee they'll say sure, but I have seen it. I think it was one of the vloggers had a BG, was on it, broke down, given a FP to come back when it's up, ran into some friends and asked if they could join him, and they let him (was just 2 others)

I tried at 2 p.m. from home using a different tactic. Did the normal close out of all apps, got off WiFi, then waited until 2 p.m. to even open the app. Was sure this wouldn’t work, as I haven’t been successful my past few tries - I got to the Join screen and selected all 5 of us (Normally I just do a few of us). At this point it had been a solid 25 seconds since 2 p.m. And of course, what do you know, we all got in. I don’t know what to think anymore.

We had this happen one other time well before COVID.
It was a glitch and those of us at home were in total shock when it happened.

No, we would have gotten one. Got all the way through to the page that says we aren’t in the park, which is the indication you would have gotten one when you are trying from home.
I was practicing from home, so we didn’t actually get a BG.
I was here with my husband and step daughter a couple of weeks ago and didn’t successfully get on. We got a backup group at 4 pm the day we were here after having all kinds of trouble with the app earlier in the day and then the ride went down at group 79 a couple hours before close. I am back for a few days with my boys who are huge Star Wars fans. I come a lot with my husband and his family, but this is the first time I’ve been able to bring my 3 boys since SWGE opened. My sister in law and niece and nephew came along for good measure. We are even staying at CBR to ensure easy transportation to HS. We got here at 9:45 this morning and 3 of us had our apps ready to go at 10 am. All 3 of us got the “join” button, but by the time we selected our group (in like 10 seconds) we all got the “the groups are now full” message.
We tried again at 2 and my son got us on backup group 68, but it doesn’t look they’ve been getting through many groups lately. I think I’m a little over it at this point, lol. It’s taken the excitement of riding it out of it for me. I practiced before we came this time and everything. Someone tell me I’m not really missing out, lol

Not to jinx it but RoTR looks on target to make it into the 70s before close. They are loading 43-51.

I've been prepping my kids for disappointment in case we don't get a BG, and one thing I keep reminding is the last time we were in HS, we had a great time and ROTR didn't even exist then, so we'll have a great day again even if we don't get it. Good luck--hope your backup group is reached!

They're boarding groups 43-51 right now. I wouldn't give up hope for group 68 yet! Hope you get to ride!!
