MY PHONE GLITCHED!!!!!

Guys, I wanted to cry a little, but my son was actually crying so I tried very hard to keep my "that's okay, sometimes life's not fair, we're still totally going on the other new star wars ride later isn't that cool" face on.

We took y'all's advice and we walked, left here around 7:10. Everyone cooperated and played along. To add a little excitement, my phone charger broke last night with only 30% battery left so I had been keeping my phone powered completely off and would turn it on when we got to DHS. We were through tapstiles at 7:40. I turned my phone on at 7:50. Found a spot with great signal just to right of Crossroads that wasn't insanely crowded. Turned on the app at 7:55, everything looks good.

Then it just ... didn't work. As soon as my phone hit 8:00, I hit "find out more." Nothing. Button is still grey. No problem, I've seen this before in practice, I hit "My Status."nothing. Tried pressing the grey button just in case. Nothing. Pull down refreshed. Nothing. Backed all the way out to home and repeated the sequence. Force closed and restarted the app completely. it is still only 8:00 (no idea how many seconds) and now it's saying it's in back-up groups BUT THE JOIN BUTTON STILL WON'T ACTIVATE. Tried the cycle one more time then headed to GET but the line for GET is maybe 100 people long and I waited for 15 minutes the other day in a GET line of 3, so we used our RnRC FP and came back to BC.

I have a healthy amount of perspective on this, believe me, but I am so incredibly frustrated by the experience. I have practiced from home dozens of time and never had this happen. I've occasionally had it grey button on one screen, but moving forward or back a a screen always has corrected the problem. Restarting the app certainly should have. The other day when we were still in line for tapstiles I got farther than I did today, calmly waiting inside! And we're going home in the morning so that was our last and best effort, failed through no fault of our own.

Ugh...so frustrating...this is my fear as well, jump on every few days to practice and see if anything changes...Good for you for trying to turn lemons into lemonade...Safe travels home!

I asked and they told me if they get through all bg before park closing they just close the attraction.

I understand why they do, since it would probably create chaos if they opened it back up to new boarding groups. BUT that’s seems so sad to close early, when there are so many disappointed guests milling about wishing they could ride too.

Cm just told me they gave out 133 bg today. The number does vary from day to day
I asked him why the beginning number is always different and guess the answer... only the ancients know
The land is the busiest I've ever seen it at this time of evening
As an aside and I'll post this on the merch thread. The standby line to build a droid is 100 min and it'll close at 7pm. If you have a reservation you do walk in

We got on the ride yesterday. I highly recommend watching the atomic clock (via browser or app) and trying for a pass at precisely 8am. It seems like the boarding group release is timed at 8am and lines up perfectly with the atomic clock. I practiced 3 times at home and used this strategy at the park with success each time.

Moral of the story: You can get a BP using the Skyliner to get to HS, but it's not recommended.

Thanks for sharing @flexoidar . We are staying at Pop Century when HS will see 9 am openings. It will be interesting to see how that changes everything from transportation to the issuance of BGs.

Interesting observation on the first day of MFSR fastpass availability. Wonder how much that's playing into the busy land this late in the evening or just a coincidence.

Edit: today was the second day FPs were available for MFSR.

If they really had 133 as the last group, as long as the ride isn’t down you’d think they’d try to call 133 and not stop at 132, even if it meant staying open slightly longer.

There's an event tonight in the land so they might be trying to close as soon as possible
