Did they even give backups today? I, as well, didn’t see any notice before all were gone. Did anyone in the parks today get a backup BG? Going on Monday and really nervous now!

So I have the same screens as you (quoting your original post so that I can remember the sequence you’re going through. I believe that, if timed right, the “Join boarding group” button will be lit taking you directly to the part where you can choose your party. It’s the bolded portion I don’t think you have to do, eliminating one step from your process. Again I hit “find out more” right at 8:00:00. But if your button is not lit up, maybe wait one or two seconds after 8 and see if it becomes available right away? That’s what the practice sessions are for!

practiced this morning and at the stroke of 8:00:00 I hit “Find out more” and boarding group available. Actually turned red (correction from what I said yesterday that it was blue) right after I went to the second screen. No need to hit “my status” which then goes to screen #3 for the blue “join boarding group” button.

I do agree we are best prepared knowing we may need to take the extra step in real time but wanted @wisblue to know that it’s possible to do it in two steps vs three.

second try practicing at home, in the first 30 seconds I could join a boarding group (using either the red button or the blue button after the my status button) I did this 6 times in total before boarding groups were gone. All times I got all the way to the page where it says you can't go any further as I'm not in the park. Does this mean I'd have been successful for getting a boarding group or is there no way of really knowing until you are actually there?

Like others I also had no notice that it had gone to back up groups today

Thanks for this - We truly know zero about Star Wars besides the names of some of the more recognizable characters. But I also know nothing about Avatar, and totally love Pandora with FOP being my favourite ride. I’m just not sure if a non-fan can appreciate ROTR in the same way?

If it was just my immediate family of 4 - we would for sure try. Or if the backup boarding groups were lasting more than 75 seconds I would grab one. I feel like a group of 11 with these lightening quick sell outs just adds a much deeper layer of complexity and stress...

I’ve got 13 days to make my decision. My group is totally fine either way and will do whatever I suggest.
I just erased an overlong post I was writing about how I'd never seen Avatar and loved Pandora and both rides and how I'm not a Star Wars fan, although I am familiar with a lot of it, yet I loved Batuu and RotR.

RotR is the most innovative "ride" (really, it's an immersive experience, not just a "ride") that Disney has ever done. There's a reason people are willing to get up early, stand in line, and play the BG game--and do it more than once a trip. Yes, there are things you won't get or appreciate as much as a Star Wars fan will, but even if you'd never heard of Star Wars, I don't really see how you wouldn't be incredibly impressed by it and probably blown away, as we were.

You've got a lot of people in your group. Do all of you have to stay together? Maybe just some of you could do this on a designated morning?

I know there are posters here who are saying they weren't all that impressed or that their DD loved ToT more (perhaps she prefers thrill rides), but if you love Pandora and love Disney storytelling, I'd have to say that RotR is not to be missed. Do yourself a favor and do NOT watch any videos of the ride and stay far away from spoilers.

So, yes, I think it's worth it. Just cut out the worrying part--it won't change anything!

That indicates you should be successful. The main glitch people run into after that is people not being registered as in the park.

On the app it says Boarding Groups 56 and above are back up so I assume some were given out - but this seems like lower regular than we have seen typically so maybe lower backup as well and that is why they all went so fast
