Fantasmic Thread!

No flaming fingers last night...and I watched the show with a more critical eye...it's definitely different, disjointed almost, I would say. No fire flames except a teensy bit at end...I thought I remembered a lot more pyro last June.

Maybe natural gas has gone up? Maybe no safety crew to check it all out.🤷‍♀️

When I watched the show with no pyro it definitely seemed off and underwhelming like something was missing. Because something WAS missing—the pyro is part of the show. When it’s not there, there are empty places in the show that feel strange.

I didn’t realize they cut the Sunday F! Performances. They’ve been a mainstay even in the heart of the winter. Def some budget cuts taking place.
You know, I really do feel sorry for people who don't know about DISBoard...I cannot tell you how many comments I have heard over past two days..."why no Fantasmic", "why no fireworks ?" People were standing in front of castle to watch projection last night and still asking..."when do the fireworks start...after this?"

I could not ever imagine dropping thousands of dollars on a vacation without knowing EVERYTHING I could about the place...

Being informed has its downside sometimes cuz we all grouse about "those good ole days..." but every trip I find something to thank the people on this board for...whether it's where to look for a special item, finding a new "secret" place, so many things.
THANK YOU DISNEYLAND DISBOARDERS!

Once again, pyro on Friday but not tonight. It’s been like this for awhile. Can’t they at least do limited outdo so when Mickey stretches his arms out something happens? Besides whizzing sound pipes in?

This is so sad that it's becoming a regular thing. The more it happens, the more it looks like it's deliberate budget cuts rather than technical or staffing issues. The show feels so empty and soulless without any pyro.

It has to be intentional, since they’ve followed the schedule of pyro on Fri / none on Sat for awhile. Budget cuts of some type. I’d prefer them to run a light pyro show on Friday and Saturday, so the show would make a lot of sense. Mikey sticking his fingers out, or the climax of the show, make no sense without it. But I suspect dropping pyro allows them to cut a few bodies.

Given that the show was initially scheduled for hiatus, I guess we shouldn’t be complaining.

Well, as much as I hate to say it...and Fantasmic has always been a must-do every trip...I think I'm going to skip it in November and take a break. It breaks my heart because for over thirty years, it's been one of the highlights of our trip. It actually premiered the year my son was born. Many, many memories...
