This is a fascinating tid bit that hasn't been mentioned before. Having someone else get the BG while you are entering the park. I didn't realize this was a possibility. thanks.

It wouldn’t have worked quite as well with the previous opening procedure since I wouldn’t have known the exact moment I could try to book them, but today since I knew they were in the park ahead of time, I just had to be ready at 7:00.

But thanks for setting up the new thread with the new information! I'm generally happy that when we're there in January, we won't necessarily need to show up at 5 for an 8am opening (though regular rope-drop procedures still seem like a good plan).

Me too! It was a whirlwind to be there dec 8-13 and we got to ride twice! Without that thread we would not have known about the up to the minute changes occurring. So appreciative and tried to pay it forward. Good luck to all on riding!!

BG 67 called for noon today. It was at 72 yesterday. Same ball park, but a touch slower today if the boarding groups are the same size.
No reports of stoppages today thus far. Continues to be a good week for the ride reliability wise.

My guess is either the groups are bigger or people aren’t taking the chance? Also, the rope drop crush has already secured their groups.

If you are booking the BG, does the app show you what group you got before you confirm it? I ask because if you have 3 people all logged into the same account on different phones all trying to get a BG for those 3 people at the same moment, will each of us get shown what group we got and then we can confirm on the person's phone that got the lowest BG? I hope this makes sense...

No, you learn your group number once you join. If 3 people are trying at the same time, only one person will get the group into a bg

I would think that they are reaching park guest saturation. Since you are only allowed to book one BG, the amount of people looking for one gets smaller and smaller as the morning progresses. As the parks get more crowded as we get closer to Christmas, I would suspect them to fill up quicker.

I also think they are just gauging how many people they can have sign up by 11:00 am (two day pattern). There is no additional risk if they cannot fulfill the backup boarding groups.

No, you learn your group number once you join. If 3 people are trying at the same time, only one person will get the group into a bg

I'm glad someone had the answer to this. Honestly, I was just trying to get through booking as quickly as I could - I couldn't tell you what a single thing on the screen said after I selected their names!
