Why did Magic Kingdom come up with Princess Royal Fairytale Hall?

I never have figured out how Magic Kingdom decided to close Snow White's Scary Adventures and replaced with Princess Royal Fairytale Hall and I never knew the story on how Princess Royal Fairytale Hall came to be? The way I see it Princess Royal Fairytale Hall was mainly a way for people to meet the princesses easier rather than go to a character breakfast to see princesses. And in my eyes Magic Kingdom should've done something better instead of making an area just for princess meet and greets in New Fantasyland like a Princess themed shop or another Princess themed ride. The other thing I cannot figure out is why they have Minnie Mouse dressed as a princess in Princess Royal Fairytale Hall and although it looks cute to me Minnie Mouse feels out of place there. But why Princess Royal Fairytale Hall sometimes has long long lines to meet princesses i'll never understand

5) Fantasyland is the perfect place for them due to their stories and nearness to Cinderella Castle

There a Princess themed shop right next to the Princess Hall- Sir Mickey’s is all princess stuff inside plus you have BBB across from it. No lack of places to drop couple hundred bucks for your little Princess look and then go get a photo with counterpart.
