The DVC desk closed in September, amid the ongoing reimagining of the resort’s lobby. It was temporarily relocated to a spot near Sandy Cove Gifts and Sundries. It moved back last month but didn’t reopen until now.

It's also much smaller, more in line with the DVC kiosks they have in other resorts. Before they had a full writing desk there as I recall.

Yes they did and when the kiosk was closed it became extra seating for folks waiting for their table at the nearby restaurants
