Well, I called and they told me they are still waiting for the official dates but it will be around that first week of October and should know more in 2-3 weeks. CLEARLY they do not understand my need! *grumble*

The first week of October is only 5 months away... don't they realize that people need to make plans and that off-site rental places fill up fast?? Seriously, what are they thinking?

What is YES? I see it on here now and then and have no idea what that stands for.
Last Fall the free Dining was offered up to Sept. 29/11 so you might run in to people who are using FD during your trip (us being one of those families) Not sure how that will affect the crowdedness of the restaurants though.....after all I'm a Disney(and DISboards) newbie

YES is Disney's Youth Education Series. I think at first it started as tickets for school groups and eventually they started having Homeschool Days. Now they actually have YES classes for ANYONE, classes on certain days of the year that kids can attend while at WDW. They also have discounted park tickets for groups or people who sign up for the classes. Here's the site:

It's COUNTDOWN TIME!!!!! Oh yes, We're 153 days out and we made our chain! This is tradition, we like to string it up along the windows in the living room!

Leslee is here for a few days, getting a break from all the hub-bub of having a new family member in her house! So, the girls sat down and numbered (b/c we'll lose count if it's not numbered!) and stapled up our huge chain last night. Not the best pic b/c it was dark, but here they are being silly with the chain...

Here it is strung across the windows this morning...

I love the paper chain countdown idea, I may have to steal that one!!! Of course I can't start it until we tell the kids about the trip....they may wonder why there's a paper chain draped along the windows if they're unaware of the trip!!
We're down to 152 days, but will have just a few more than 100 when we tell the kids, so we might do it for the 100 day window!

I've always thought about the chain but never actually made one. My kids would probably think I'm crazy. Especially since I can't talk Disney around DD anymore because she had had enough of it.

Wow, a countdown chain at over five months to go. I am in awe of you! My kids would drive me insane with the "how much longer..." questions if I put a countdown up now! It looks great!

I think 100 days is perfect! That's what most people do...I'm just a freak.

Oh my kids DO think I'm crazy, but there's nothing they can do about it! Savannah has had enough as well, but she gets more excited now since Leslee is coming and it's her first trip.

Yep, I'm thinking he might figure it out if you had a chain up! I would fail at a surprise...remember, I'm trying to see if we can do MNSSHP but surprise them with it? We'll see how THAT works out!
