I haven't been on DIS much lately (as you know from the lack of progress on my own PTR) but I am so glad to see that you are planning a trip!! Guess what--I think we may be down there during the same time too!! We are going from September 28th-October 4 or 5th (depending if they release FD).

HOUSE UPDATE!! It's Official! The rental house is paid for! Paid it off, including the security deposit just now, so that's a done deal!! I'm super excited, it makes it seem more real and I'm sure each step will be that way. Up next: tickets!

Can't wait to sit right here and have a drink after a long day at the parks!!! In fact, sitting right there at all looks amazing right now, I'm still sick, going on a week now, and I'm ready to sit in the sun ANYWHERE and feel normal again.

Thanks Ann! I know it seems silly, but after last year's buildup and let down of not being able to afford a trip, each little milestone towards this trip is a huge deal for me. I really believe that when we finally get there I will be overcome b/c we found a way to make it happen and worked so hard for it!

I just ran the ESPN 5K in MGM. I am up in the air about the half or 5k in Oct.
The 5k was so much fun, I can't wait to do it again.
The registration fee for the half is what is getting to me. $145 ouch.

We will be there 9-29 to 10-9 (if airline prices ever come down a bit) Otherwise 9-30 to 10-7, as we will have to drive from NY.

Congrats on booking and PAYING for the house! we have never stayed in a house but had checked into them several years ago. It looks so nice to have the private pool. We had stayed offsite in 2009 for the first part of our trip to US/IOA in some townhouses and it was sooooo nice to have all the extra space.

I have a cool 5K update! They finally opened registration for the Family Fun 5K Run at WDW on October 1st! There are some changes that I was a little sad about, apparently they are not doing it in MK this year, which isn't really that surprising since that day is the 40th Anniversary as well, they may be planning other things there. Also, it's not "Mickey's Halloween 5K" anymore, so I'm guessing no Halloween costumes either.

So instead of imagining running down mainstreet towards the castle, what will I be visualizing during the next 6y months while I train?...

THIS BEAUTIFUL SIGHT!

The Family Fun Run is through AK this year! At first I wasn't that excited, but like I said, I was more just disappointed that I wouldn't get to run through MK. AK is gorgeous and it will be a really beautiful run! It's also going to be super close to the house and way easier to get to so early in the morning.

After thinking about it, I decided that I wanted to see if Dallas wanted to run with me! Dallas is my middle child, he's turning 16 this year, and this winter has joined me in working to get more fit. He's been working out and run/walking and after I explained that the race isn't a fast-pace race where he would be timed, he looked relieved AND interested and said he thought it would be fun to run together! I'm pretty excited about it and looking forward to us training together (when I can actually run again) this spring/summer! I'll have to take a new pic of Dallas soon, his hair is short now and he's lost some weight from exercising and eating better.

So that's my race update!
